The entire reveal that Ferdinand has been burning through years-old bodies instantly grown from baby to adult in three days born from the relatives of any victim he's killed with his Horoscope weapon is an insane way to cap everything off.

There's so much plot dump and characters playing a role that Unbound Asterism feels like an anniversary event. It's a whole lot to take in that it caught me off guard by density alone.

Cupitan and Tristette are one hourai elixir short of a perpetual game of chicken to see which one of them calls the other asshole first before they immediately break into the sweaty and hot angry hate sex. And then repeat the process repeatedly.

Oh and we got a leak for legfest. Unsurprisingly, one is Ragazzo. The other is more ambiguous as the weapon is a Marriage Ring. Seriously, if it wasn't for the thing with Tristette and Thalassinus, I would have gone with Cupitan and Tristette dual unit as the ougi name is Marriage and Madness. Although, if it's Meg and Mari, then 2023 is truly Gay Year for Granblue.

I enjoyed a lot about the event but 80% of my post event thoughts have revolved around Troue. Of the cast I'd say he's my favourite character but I have such mixed feelings about his reveal. I didn't mind him being the traitor, I actually guessed as much because it felt like there were a whole lot of inconsistencies in his attitude and I could safely rule out most of the other characters either because their betrayal would be too obvious or their internal thoughts would be inconsistent with it. What I did mind was how the whole deduction of his being the traitor felt like it was pulled out of the writer's ass, literally nothing in the story gave the impression that there was any weapon capable of shapeshifting nor Troue having a secret evil personality. I also don't really care for Felix' personality? Like I can deal with Ferdinand because he's a comically evil puppy kicker and everyone wants to rip his head off but seeing Troue switch to that kind of just grated on me in a way I didn't find enjoyable even if I did find the set up and pay off of his tricking Kolulu a neat character beat (though also feels excessive since she also has to fix Lodi's nonsense too). I actually assumed the reveal would be that one of the memories in Durandal had taken over Troue, but the journal did mention that the weapon was already harmonised (though that leaves the question of why he still has it, they've been pretty swift with all the other weapon collections)

Also it kind of bugged me that they didn't show Danchou's and friends reaction to the reveal? Like, the main trio were the ones who took him in, you'd think they'd have more to say or feel more conflicted about how much of their meeting was fabricated but instead they put all the emotional beats on Kolulu.

This was mostly me complaining but that's also like one of the few things that bothered me in the story. Also Randall and Feather are so comically out of place in this manufactured trauma project, inb4 secret reveal about how Feather was actually groomed to be a battlehobo

Gone through the recap thing that's at the bottom of the event page. No wonder I have no clue who the hell is Morilynn was. Like it's been a couple years since I went through Fiorito but, like, I didn't realize she's also a case of something tied to the plot but only in a seasonal unit like with Grace.

also I just got that the first event was called Marionette Stars because they were constellations dancing along to Navis' plan but now it's Unbound Asterism because they will be asterisms untethered to the celestial pattern and fate.

@Nouct: Note I’m thinking this mostly because the Planets oversee the Zodiac Signs, and so Ophiuchus is an outsider as the 13th as the planets also fit the theme of who their former underlings/children’s constellations are. It’s why people have a good idea of what Judahs planet is based on Morilynn and Fioritos star signs.

Of course this could end up throwing a curveball and adding Pluto and Cetus in there somewhere since the latter is considered the 14th Zodiac Unless they also do a FFXIV and instead have the Sun be the 14th
