I don't think Mob meant to kill him.
Well, it's not clear how much non-100% Toichiro's powers would have helped him sustain that kind of injury, but I think that Mob was ready to use as much violence as needed to stop him, even if that meant killing him or permanently disabling him. After all, when Mob can't keep his emotions in check anymore, his powers express these emotions hard. Considering that was 100% Resignation....
Now that I think about it, I imagine that's more or less what would have happened if Mob had reached 100% Killing Intent, back in Season 1. His last thoughts before being stopped by Reigen were more or less "I can't afford to think about what happens to my enemies anymore"... Except, that time they didn't have the kind of power that would have let them endure Mob's attack for a second. It's pretty nightmarish to imagine all of them just twisting and popping like grapes. No wonder Reigen was ready to die to stop Mob.

Man, they really made 100% Resignation horrifying as hell.
So many fantastic moments. The above mentioned, the 100% Courage, the "I am the protagonist of my own life" scene. I really liked the inclusion of Toichiro reaching out after the fact to metaphorically take Mob's hand as he's being led away.
This whole season was for the most part exactly what I was hoping for. I hope that we get a third and final season, and that it's still done by Bones with the same quality and dedication.
It's been a while since I read it so I didn't remember how the fight went, but I thought that was good. When doing the theme of "Sometimes there are people words don't work on and you need to be able to throw hands" it can be hard to avoid falling into the trap of "I'll prove to you that power doesn't mean everything by overpowering you!". But by ending with Mob not actually defeating Toichiro, but going until Toichiro starts self destructing himself and then going for the heart to heart I think the fight toed that line pretty well.

And finally, the broccoli from the opening of season one appears.
Yea, Mob not being able to straight up beat Touichiro added to the impact. Especially because Touichiro almost dying because of his powers and only survived because of Mob's help, that's the core message of the show right there.
Mob may not have been able to beat the villain, but he did save his life.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. So, next week is an OVA with original content written by ONE. The preview image is the main cast chilling in a hot tub, maybe that has something to do with it? I think it'd be cool if the OVA showed the Body Improvement Club's 3-day work-out retreat at Musashi's grandma's place, since that wasn't shown in the manga. Also, I really hope Musashi's grandma is Dash Granny.
Hopefully, they announce season 3 at the end of the OVA and provide some sort of time frame. I can't wait for it, the first big arc of the season is my favorite arc in the whole series.
Going by the pattern of the first season's opening being called 99 and the second season's opening being 99.9, I hope the third season's opening will be called 100. Or they could do the trolly thing and call it 99.99.
I propose either "Mob Choir 101" or "Mob Choir ???".

I thought about ???, but I think it'd be too hard to sing. I definitely expect a lot of references to it in the animation, though.
In hindsight, it's crazy how spoiler-filled season 2's ED is, mostly just referencing a single visual motif.
I just thought of something different.
Given that season 2 has revealed that Mob's natural iris color is red (what with 100% Courage, among other shots), what if, in season 3, Bones decides to have 100% Ritsu with red eyes, too? I got a chill just thinking about how that could look in the anime.
An amazing finale and affirmation that this show is probably one of the best put out there in the last decade.
- The theme of connecting with other people really really works for this episode and Mob initially concluding that Touichirou is the one person this fails to work on, only for the one-two punch of Mob trying to give solace to a dying man and Touichirou turning himself in and reminiscing on his family is excellent..
- "I'm the protagonist of my own life." ;~~~~~;
- The final intermission was perfect
- The Body Improvement Club was great for deescalating things back to a far more mundane level.
- This is a very interesting Sequel Hook which has far more absurdity than last time, Reigen's approach seems like a good modus operandi until it inevitably blows up in their faces
- Shou's very casual reveal that he still sees his mom every so often is both hilarious and depressing for Touichirou's inability to actually communicate with people.
- Dimple trying out Serizawa's discarded hair as a wig was the best gag
- Serizawa growing into his own and trying his best!! I have decided that Serizawa is second best boy.
Ultimate 5 dealing with rain

Can't wait to see more of this pair
Springtime
It's funny to think that Serizawa's older than Reigen.
Reigen's canon age is 28.
Serizawa's canon age is 30.
Mother's Basement gushes over breaks down 99.9:
I’m very excited for the anime conclusion for Mob when it happens
Interesting choice to not go full blast on 100 % emotion splashes but be subtle with only Mob’s expressions
On the topic of season 3, I don't know if they'd be able to slot them in, but I'd love if they included the Hoshino vs Asashi omakes, as well as the Inukawa trapped on the alien planet omakes.
Chris Niosi (Reigen's English VA) just announced that Season Two's currently in the dubbing process, and that first season and OVA's dub are available on Crunchyroll and Funimation for free. Niosi doesn't mention anything about Toonami airing the Season Two dub though, but we'll see.
No news about the hot springs OVA?

Just finished season 1 of anime.
As a series made by ONE, it's very badass and funny at the same time. However, it's surprisingly philosophical as well, even more so than how One Punch Man can be at times.
This is one of the few shonen mangas that actually explores teenaged boy's psychology in a relatable way. Dimple's reason for creating a cult and the whole Reigen ranting about people who want to take over the world feels like a good discussion on social psychology as well.
I particularly liked how Mob is obviously Saitama of this series in terms of power level, but far more vulnerable, especially emotionally.
And of course, how can I not mention Reigen. He's simply the most interesting character for me, in that he manages to be scummy AND admirable at the same time.
A solid anime, 3.5 stars out of 4.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.ONE has massively solid writing, which endears past his crude artstyle.
Actually I read parts of the original OPM and volume 1 of this series.
Yes, his genetal art style is very crude...but the way he arranges panels and perspective is actually pretty great.

It’ll not disappoint
I love Mob a lot and it’s very clear this was something dear to ONE
OVA is out.
Yeah, 100% Resignation is definitely the moment that added the most in the adaptation. In the manga, all Mob did was shatter Toichiro's hand, shred his sleeve, and disable his eye and one of his ears. The implication was that Mob was trying to kill Toichiro by attacking his pressure points. In the anime, though it's a bit more cartoony, Mob wrings out Toichiro like a towel, twisting him beyond human limits in an attempt to kill him by crushing his entire body.
