I still can't believe that we haven't had a thread for this show yet.

For the uninitiated, this show is created by a storyboard revisionist from Wander Over Yonder and it's directed by the guy who created Time Squad.

It's coming out in the fall of this year.

So far, I'm interested in it and I would like to see how it goes out. I'm not that fond of the art style though.

While the creator's art style will have its detractors, I am looking forward to the show.

In my head, I thought that it gonna look similar to The Modifyers. Don't ask why, it just did.

In fact, it may be the reason why I'm not fond of the art style.

Funny.

I was actually considering giving this show a thread and a trope page, but I guess you beat me to the punch, I-Block.

As for the show itself, it seems promising enough. Though I kinda wish we got a preview by now instead of just a few GIFs. Meh, we'll probably get that when San Diego Comic Con comes around this year.

I keep reading very little about it on Wikipedia, now this. I find the plot to be a little like Bee And Puppycat, or Steven Universe, except on Disney.

The sparse screenshots I saw of this show does NOT look like its creator's art style that you show in that Sailor Moon fanart. We'll see how this goes. Naturally, Mercury Films is also animating this.

Ugh. I'm going to get crucified for saying this but..

Is it me, or do a lot of cartoons look the same now? I mean, they always did have similar looks and I'm sure it's because the same people work on these shows, but seriously. A lot of them look like web cartoons influenced by chibi anime. It's not bad looking per say, it's just getting old for me.

It is nice to see women creating more cartoons..

It might just be that you haven't seen a lot of cartoons lately. I've been watching a shitton of cartoons, both good as well as eye-rippingly aweful, and even in the latter category there's a lot of variation.

Yes, cartoons nowadays are a bit more round, but that's mostly because it's essentially easier to animate. I myself really don't see anything that's even remotely similar. I mean, sure, I have a lot of reference material here (Phineas And Ferb, Gravity Falls, Randy Cunningham Ninth Grade Ninja, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, The Amazing World Of Gumball, Teen Titans Go, just to name a few). They all have their own distinct styles.

I should stop watching cartoons. Or, start watching MORE. I NEED MORE CARTOONS!!!

Man, Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated really left a hole in my life when it ended.

[up][up][up] Everything has to look like Adventure Time, otherwise the kids will get confused.

If I ask why the theme song was shown at a Gravity Falls panel, would the answer be that many of the same people worked on it, so I'd get mad??

[up] Nah, they were just showing some other Disney Channel/XD content right before the panel really started. I believe they had a short preview clip for something called Penn Zero alongside it too.

Don't mind me. I'm just a creepy little lurker.

[up] Penn Zero? It doesn't have anything to do with penguins, does it?

Also, looks like we'll have to change the title of this discussion board since according to the clip of the theme song, the title is officially "Star Vs. the Forces of Evil".

[up] Unfortunately not. It's a comedic superhero show by the looks of it.

Just saw the intro. I kinda like it, to be honest. [tup]

PS: I already ship the two lead characters.

But, they're like foster brother and sister now. You want more "Pinecest"?

I'm fairly optimistic about this. I like the art style, the animation looks fluid, and I have a fondness for the wake up, go to school, save the world set up.

You know, I've kinda grown on the art style of the show. It's very cute and nice to look at :3

Wait, they're siblings? O.o

More like "Exchange family". She's forced to live with them after saving the galaxy for the "Unf"teenth time, and now tries to have a normal lifestyle, which is still hard to do with all the monsters around.
