I don't really see why the Demon King didn't just tell Zeldris about this instead of being all coy and going "nah, we're totally going to make your traitor brother the next Demon King".
Oh, bother.
The Demon King is a shitty dad. He probably just did that to mess with Zeldoris and "motivate" him by comparing him negatively to Meliodas. It also was probably done to ensure that Zeldoris would continue to resent Meliodas and thus be even less inclined to ally with him.
The Demon King probably also wanted to punish him for his relationship with Gelda.

Original Demon might end up helping the heroes considering he wanted Meliodas/Zeldris to be the new demon king. Not their dad who they betrayed to be wearing a meat suit.

So it appears that Ban is fighting the body, while Melodias is fighting the soul of the Demon King from the inside. Also, despite not having his immortality, that time in purgatory has made Ban stronger than ever.

After all this build up, it takes, what? Two chapter for the Demon King to start losing? Pretty lame.
Also, why is he attacking Ban with something that is weaker than what he knows Ban can withstand with zero issue?
