Puzzle and Dragons

Ah, excellent, I've been hoping for a God-fest! Unfortunately one of the dark types on each day I already have - Haku, the only Chinese God relevant to me, and Persephone.

Still, I could really do with Pandora, Rodin, and Ronia. Not wholly sure what to shoot for in this particular fest, though I do need something, and I suspect that Day 2 offers better spoils for me.

Hero gods are harder to use, and the row playstyle is getting harder to use as of late(though monsters like Scarlet and the Shiva/Neptune Dragons are bringing it back somewhat). I'd roll day 1. Even if you already have Haku, a second one can be used for the other ult, or Awoken Haku. Plus, Sakuya and Durga are pretty good leaders, Sakuya especially since she doesn't need many REM subs to be useful.

Sakuya doesn't help me as I have nothing of any value at all in a Light monster (Arcline and Genie are the best I have), whereas the vast majority my power is in Ult-Persephone, Haku (D/D Ult, level 94, fully awoken) and my max-skilled Echidna.

Right now, I have to focus on getting a single usable team, and unfortunately I just don't benefit that I can see by excluding my Dark monsters.

Durga might be a good fit for you then. Throw in Dark monsters with subtypes, and you've got a pretty good team. Especially since you only need Wood and Fire since Durga covers Dark and Water, with hearts being an option as well. Typhon or Zuoh may be good as well, but they're in both days.

Yeah, Durga could work. I've got the Wood/Dark Bastet for now (Awoken is well beyond me) but she doesn't add much. Nothing else worthwhile in Wood (except Sasuke, arguably) so can't base a team around Bastet for now, though if I got Perseus I could consider that route.

I'll eventually need multiple teams anyway of course, I'd just rather play to my few existing strengths for now!

Typhon would be a great fit, and I can always hold out in hope of Dmeta too.

Turns out Sarasvati's Uevo was just released in the EU today actually, so she could be a decent water sub when levelled. Wiz Rider Merlin could also go well with Byakko, though I lack the Ancient Masks to get him Uevo'd which is a hitch.

Didn't get anything good out of godfest. Dupe Grodin, dupe Verdandi, dupe Leilan. Also got Kurome, which is a good heartmaker for dark I suppose. Better than a toy dragon at least.

On the bright side, I have Awoken Meimei now.

My godfest sucked. Two 3-stars (mystic knights) and a dupe Haku.

why me

God I hate these goddamn duplicates! Got some good stuff (having invested cash figuring one or two good drops are all I need to soar) but what I'd have given for some variety!

• Durga! Great! Except I got it THREE times.
• Green Sonia: I WANTED RED.
• Black Beast Demon Zuoh: Not bad at all, was a suggested target in above posts
• Apocalypse: There's worse I suppose but the element doesn't suit and I certainly didn't need it twice
• Nameless Brave Blade Masamune: Meh, already have Shotel and this is no better.
• Toyceratops...three fucking times. Even one is beyond worthless.

I do now have three Wood/Dark monsters - Bastet, Green Sonia and Zuoh, but I'm not still not sure I have a viable team from any of this. Was really hoping for Rodin or Ronia - or anyone I could use with Haku really since two Durga don't do a lot.

EDIT: Thinking about it, I could do a Durga/Bastet/Persephone/Haku/Echidna team? Though Haku's ability leaves me reliant on luck for the wood orbs so might not be a good inclusion. I do have Yomi as well (not ulti-evolved yet).

I could also use the Chaos Devil Dragon if Green Sonia is a better bet for me right now. And I can farm for a Vampire, that might be a good idea.

That team would work, especially if you swap in D/D Yomi over Haku.

Green Sonia is kinda hard to make work, since there's not a whole lot of Dragons that are decent, and those that are often don't match her colors/are not row based.

Also, Masamune would be a good Bastet team member, if only for the extra damage from the double prongs.

Looks like Persephone's new Awoken form is Dark/Wood - that would make her even better for Durga teams I think? Though the Ancient Mask requirements are harder to get of course.

She does seem to be gaining in popularity, and that 5x spike is obviously far better than the 3.5x, albeit harder to achieve. Still, looks like I have some of the effective subs, and I can stick in Haku for now as a stat stick until I get more levels in the others.

Persephone's new ult is just a regular one. It won't come outside of JP for a few months though, so a different monster would be better to fill green.

So Durga, W/D Bastet, Persephone, D/D Yomi, Echidna wouldn't be a particularly effective team?

I've got Marine Rider Robin too who is an orb-changer, but stat-wise he's pretty bad.

His Ulti Evo is actually really good, especially with double TPA. That said, he's outclassed by every other Rider on the fact that the other riders fit perfectly on certain teams.

I had a few stones left so decided to roll for part 2 which has just started here. I got Sleeping Dragon Zhuge Liang who appears to be Wood/Dark as well.

Would he be of use for a Durga or Bastet team?

EDIT: With GZL, my first REM roll of Sasuke might actually have some value...

GZL is (as I'm sure you know) really good. He's a great lead as well as a great sub. And yes, it makes Sasuke more usable.

GZL was a term I'd seen around without really having cause to look into it much (only been playing PAD about 3 months).

Seems I've had a stroke of luck here.

Heh I've also proven able to beast Challenge Mode thanks to accumulated Odin friends. Three Green Odins, 1 Red Odin and an ulti Durga meant being able to clear Tomb of the Saint Deep's Hades without so much as matching an orb.

Shame such teams won't help me against tougher technical dungeons, but it's nice to know I can cheese for the free stones just now.

I've been trying to get a GZL for a while now. Hoping I can get one before he's taken out of the GFE lineup.

Durga/Bastet/Persephone/Yomi/Echidna could probably work. Though, you'd probably want a better Dark orb converter than Persephone, since she gets rid of Heart orbs as well, and they can be useful in reaching the required colors. The Dark Mystic Knight may be a better choice.

I ran into the opposite problem last time. Tons of Gold Pirates, not many Dark Sprites.

In other news, I died to Sandalphon again. Got him down to near 50%, but a wood skyfall pushed him just under 50%, so I got binded. I contemplated using Verdandi then, but wasn't sure if it'd be enough to kill. Probably should've gone for it.

He's being taken out of GFE? Isn't that a good thing? Or is it because he's getting a Descend?

Yeah that team would be viable it seems. It's not so needed for that team, but if I hope to use Haku again (and with the effort I've put into her it would be nice) then grinding a vampire is probably something I should do eventually, especially as I can't get it from REM anymore.

Looking into it I also clearly now have the basis of a solid GZL team, which nicely makes some of my awful drops have value.

GZL, Green Sonia, Sasuke, Bard Rider Robin are the obvious ones, being common GZL subs apparently.

For the 5th slot I have a couple of options: Thumbelina, Masamune, Ancient Dragon Knight Zeal, Wood Dark Bastet. The first two of those all dropped for me yesterday. Bastet is the best stat-wise at the moment, but that's largely irrelevant as this team will need levelling a fair bit before I can practically use it anyway - her lack of the attacker type holds her back a bit, though she has better stats than the others. Masamune might have a better attack, but a worthless ability.

GZL, Green Guan Yu, and Apocalypse are all becoming regular REM monsters soon. They won't be in godfests, just always in the machine. They'd be like the Riders.

As for that GZL team, I'd go with Masamune. The active would be useful for a quick, weak Attacker boost, as well as having two TP As to deal damage.

Next time Japanese goddesses come up, I might try for Kushinada, as she could be very useful (she's got a good leader skill anyway of course). Was hoping Mei Mei might have dropped as Chinese goddess this time, but that was obviously before GZL dropped anyway which makes that irrelevant.

I'm also in the fortunate position of currently finding Challenge Mode easier than regular play, thanks to being able to use 3 Grodins, a Rodin and a Durga as my team. Nothing I've yet faced has been able to handle all five actives firing off at once, meaning I've beaten every boss I've unlocked without any orb matches.

Of course, I'm not naive enough to think that I'll get away with that forever...

Once you get to Skydragons and Legendary Dragons or Hera in the normal dungeons, that'll probably stop working out for you.

(I actually need to skill up Pandora anyway, so i guess it's fine. But I spent 3 magic stones just to increase my box size for them. It was all worth it though...)

Finally got Awoken Bastet! Now to do some team building and I'll have a great team!

Also, should I use my Woodpys on Bastet or on Awoken Ceres when I get her?
