Just World History this year. It's not the material that gets me, it's how they word questions usually. They ALL look right lol

I don't think I would trust any answer that's not "A bunch of white dudes trying to impress their mistresses".

Or any answer that is "Lives of *oppressed group* improved" History is easy when you know that everything that can go wrong will. Which is also a good way to describe this fort a lot of the time.

European history is quite similar.

honestly quite a lot of history is similar. yadda yadda, doomed to repeat, and so on.

And even if you know history, it's often hard as Hell to avoid repeating it. People generally take the easy way out, either physically or mentally. You have to actually work at it to not just say "fuck it. Let the loop come back around and be someone else's problem."

So can someone give us a count on just how many dead things the fort's history has? A total count is fine, though bonus points for actually counting and giving us a list broken out into "Friend, Foe, Elf, Animal"

why separate "foe" and "elf"?

Sorry, I was switching over to Peridexis Errant's DF Starter Pack. A bit like going from piloting your lil' Cessna to a 727. There's plenty there to make your life easier if you know how to use it,

I have made some bad, depressing choices in Dwarf Fortress, but writing up this list really takes the cake. Let's try not to kill off any more dwarves, hokay? :(

The following names, I found, do not have any current dwarves with them. If you want to be re-dorf'd as a specific dwarf, LET ME KNOW! Otherwise I'll stick you wherever it looks like you'll be interesting.

Holy crap this fort is a death trap under a very thin gold leaf veneer. ROFL. Still think that volcanoe with easy minerals is all glory now. SUFFER DWARVES TO APPEASE ARMOK!

I am surprised there are no dead Tuefel's on the list.

We killed three wagons and a ghost and didn't even stop rollin' long enough to notice. I think that this requires !!Science!! - specifically, can we kill ghosts with adamantine weapons?

Because this will be the greatest Dwarf Fortress/Ghostbusters crossover ever.

On an unrelated note: I have a bunch of exams, deadlines, and other stuff happening over the course of the next month and a half, so I will have to skip my next turn as I doubt that I will have time to play.

Try to keep the Prince alive, and obey the Eternal Regent Durza as you would the God-Emperor himself (who is pleased with his new epithet in Condorito's list; he was considering Carrion Lord, but Corpse-God works).

Wish I could take credit for it, but I found it that way. :) Armok's Easter Eggs are full of Fun!

That's one reason I'm going so slowly, to give everybody time to get their lives settled. Including myself. I'll keep on regularly updating, so that the killing fields don't lie fallow for long.

A giant crow has reverted to a wild state, and started beating the crap out of a haule...erm, farmer! And two more have joined him! The crow killed the farmer to death before anybody could get to him!

One down, three more to go. Giant crows, that is. Not farmers.

The one thing that could be said for Durza's plan to kill us all, is it does make it easy for the marksdwarves to get the monsters roosting in the rafters. A puppy is being attacked - unfortunate, but better than a dwarf. The giant crow rips the puppy in half, earning itself the name Mistygoads. And the ire of an Animal Dissector. Cilob Scarrings, while having his leg chewed on by the Deep Crow, calmly shoots the thing in the guts and causes it to flee to the rafters. If you've never seen a crow that just murdered a puppy vomiting, then you've never lived. After the militia gets rolling, though, it's mostly cleanup. Nobody should feel good about killing crows, no matter if they have names or not. Moldath Onulalod, you will be missed.

So is spent most of my Easter break reading through waterburned, beigeknife and this thread so I finally made a tvtropes account to ask if I can be dorfed. I'd prefer as a male siege engineer or mason.
