Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft

Quillboar is going to be a minion type in battlegrounds. That's weird but hey if they are willing to experiment then they are welcome to try.

Shaman's hero power is getting a chance. It'll no longer spawn Wrath of Air Totem and its replacing it with Strength Totem, a 0/2 that gives another minion +1 attack

Deathwing's really improved since he doesn't destroy your minions too. And you're probably discarding fewer cards too. Like if you played him when you had 9 other cards and your opponent had a full board you'd still be keeping 2 cards.

He's still a Hail Mary, but one that doesn't leave you without any way to come back should he die in the next turn. Even better, he can be played on an empty enemy board for the stat weight without risk.

A few additional things:

• Ysera's Dream cards are being rebalanced. Ysera Awakens and Dream got a 1 mana increase nerf, Nightmare now gives 4/4 instead of 5/5 and Laughing Sister now costs 2 Mana. Emerald Drake seems to be unchanged.
• Jaraxxus is gonna get turned into a Hero Card. Details behind other potential changes are still unknown.
• Vanessa Van Cleef is the new rogue legendary and is basically a burgle card. So that's standard i guess.
• Cards like Annoy-o-tron and Tirion Fordring are core cards. Also, Sprint was buffed to 6 mana, still pretty crap.

Core Set is out.

Hearthpwn is updating cards little by little; 235 is a lot. Plenty of cards returning from old expansions (Baron Rivendare, Warhorse Trainer, Landscaping etc.) and plenty getting buffs (Fire Elemental now deals 4 damage, Cenarius costs 8, Druid of the Claw is now a 5/4 with Rush or a 5/6 with Taunt etc.). Fair share of brand new cards, too (Fogsail Freebooter is a 2/2 that deals 2 damage if you have a weapon equipped, Ritual of Doom destroys a friendly minion and summons a 5/5 Demon to replace it if you have 5 or more minions on the board, for 0 mana, no less etc.)

The new Alexstraza is the very definition of a well designed card. Immediate effect, highly versatle swiss army knife (removal, heal minion, stabilize, finisher).

Any mid range or control deck will want her.

You know what’s shit design:

Puzzle Boss with RNG (on your end not his). That sums up the final boss of the rogue book of heroes in a nut shell.

We rarely talk about the Book of Heroes because they are just a crappy dungeon run with pre-made decks but my god Valeera's chapter is just awful.

Garona, Cho'gall and Ravenholdt can go eat a dick.

I can't think of any book of hero chapter that was fun. And maybe it's just because I'm begrudging Blizz but I feel like they're so self-indulgent for undeserved reasons.

Cho'gall was actually one of my easier fights, beat him first try. If you're having trouble with the final boss, send out your knife juggler when you have plenty of Mana, play the card that gives him poison, then summon your cheapest minions. If you're lucky, knife juggler will hit one of the 4 stealthed boss minion. I killed three of them this way, and one with sabotage (be strategic so you can take out his spectral cutlass with the combo. I recommend using your cloak of shadows when the ravenholdt assassin secret is tripped. Will save you 7 damage and next turn you can take out one of his minions plus the weapon.)

I'm not sure if I hate more that the Book of Heroes fights are puzzle fights in disguise or puzzle fights in the first place.

Just lived the George + golden Brann + murlocs dream in Battlegrounds. Got 1st place with a win streak of 13 and never lost a single health point. 🤩

I'm excited for forged in the barrens release. As a treat my boyfriend suggested buying the gold bundle. Freebie was jaraxxus also pulled harrison jones and high inquisitor whitemane. Definitely worth it, he brings luck so I like to open all my packs in front of him.

So many fond memories, playing some classic.

The panic-y movements and plays of a control warrior when they realise there is nothing they can do against a handlock. Perfection.

My first match in Classic was against mill druid.

I won but that was dreadful and i was playing as priest even. Not touching this mode for a while

There's currently a twitch giveaway where you can earn two Forged in the Barrens packs by watching. Also how's everyone liking the new rewards track. I've gotten up to the free legendary point and got Varden Dawngrasp, perfect for a wild freeze mage deck.

The reward track seems decent enough. I took a long break, but I remember hearing it was awful when it was first launched.

Bit of rng with the free legendaries, but if you get a couple good ones that can really ease the deckbuilding burden.

I got Cariel Roame, she seems good, but I'm not sure there's a deck that really needs her right now. Especially when she's competing with Kazakus.

I'm just enjoying the fact that i managed to get Deck of Lunacy last expansion and now it's pretty fucking bonkers so hey let's grind till i get all the good tools this expansion. And maybe get enough dust to craft rag and sylv for classic

1st book of mercenaries is out. Rokara's chapter is much easier than Valeera, for anyone worried about the difficulty. Already snagged my pack. Really digging the new rewards track. I'm closing in on level 45 at the moment.

Did Rokara's chapter too. I have to admit... She's adorable. I don't know who the voice actor is but I love her.

The thing about Rokara is that she sounds really off for an orc. Sounds more like a shonen anime MC than an orc.

Btw, Tansim Roame is supposed to be Judicious Junior from Scholomance. That's some pretty cool continuity nod a la George and Karl.

Quillboar minion tag is getting added in Battlegrounds

The tag will also be added to the cards in other modes so that's interesting. They did say to not expect any support for Quillboar archetypes anytime soon.

N'Zoth decks might find it interesting tho.

If anything, I thought undead will be the first one. Strange indeed.

Unsure if/when this'll be resolved but Glaivebound Adept is missing from everyone's collection, cannot be found, disenchanted, or crafted. Replaced mine in wild with Illidari Inquisitor as a temporary measure to make my deck playable again. I do miss that guaranteed damage which could bypass taunt though.
