"Ah, good to be home!" Colton sighed, hand extended to hi-five the Xatu responsible for teleporting him there as he walked around the docks, taking in the salty air. Said Xatu swiftly returned the gesture then returned to his Pokeball.

I didn't know Unova had beaches, Colton considered. I should come here again sometime, he added as he queued up some music, walking on the docks, considering sitting in the center, evidenced by his proximity to it.

-"Ramona, not looking where she's going accidentally bumps into colton."-

Ramona, losing her balance: Oh, wow, wow, woooow!

-"The short eight teen year old falls back and splashes into the water."-

-"She pops up, her glasses now on her head and soaked to the bone."-

Ramona, fixing her glasses: Oops, sorry. You okay?

-"She smiles childishly at Colton."-

Humilau Docks

Colton grunted, nearly dropping his phone, managing to return his grip on it before he looked at Ramona, who he noticed was drenched.

"Crap, sorry!" He apologized, throwing up a Luxury Ball.

A Delphox landed, thumped her staff on the dock and focused, lifting up Ramona out of the water and onto the docks with Psychic while drying her off with Sunny Day.

-"Ramona shakes out her long pink hair as the delphox drys her."-

Ramona: Thanks.

-"Her brain suddenly registers the Delphox and Ramona lets out a happy gasp."-

Ramona, happy mode: Ohmagosh, she's cute, cute, cute, cute, cuuutte!

-"She pats the Delphox on the head."-

Ramona: *Squee* She's sooooo soft!

-"Victor walks up."-

Victor: <Yo, moron, mind waiting for me every now and then!?>

With a couple of fingers, Sunny gestured at Ramona's wrist before dragging it away. <Ask first,> she corrected, also projecting it into Ramona's mind before she set Ramona's hand back down behind her ears.

"Hey, ya Herdier sounds like he's getting impatient," Colton observed as he saw Victor approach. "He also called you a moron. Make of that what you will."

Ramona, giving Sunny head scratches: Oh, he's just playing. Like when people played ring around the rosy during the boom tectonic plague.

-"Victor stares at his trainer, jumps into the ocean real quick and then climbs back up."-

Victor: <Yeah, that was so dumb I needed to drown my self to save a few brain cells. That's how dumb you are!>

Ramona: Daww, you wanna go for a swim?

Victor: <...yeah, sure, why the fuck not.>

Ramona, to colton: So where'd you get this cutie? Oh, and can I pet her?

-"Ramona asks this while still Petting the mon that is not hers."-

Humilau City

"I caught her as a Fennekin after I rescued her from a villainous organization that bred her for perfection," Colton said like it was the most normal thing in the world.

Neither he nor Sunny objected to Ramona petting her, but through the pets, Sunny corrected Ramona. Sorta.

<Just call it the [Black Death].>

The Badlands

-Deziree takes a deep, deep, *deep* breath of air as the off-colored stone face of an artificial cliff rises before her.-

Deziree: Well, Millie, we're here!

-Ludmilla just shrugs, her general attitude draining the color from her and her immediate surroundings. Deziree isn't even sure if that's just her or her powers acting up in a strange and unique way.-

Deziree: ... Millie?

-Ludmilla snaps back to the now, rather than the then. She looks up at her adoptive mother, who motions towards the cliff face.-

Ludmilla: ... Hm?

Deziree: The psychic thing. Like we discussed.

-The neurons sluggishly fire in the back of her head as she realizes what Deziree is talking about.-

Ludmilla: Oh, right.

-The young psychic reaches out - not physically - towards the cliff. Inside, she feels a distinct hum. Not quite like a living creature, not quite like an artificial creature either. Definitely artificial, but not a creature. She probes, and the hum returns in languid fashion, like a button half-pressed. Ludmilla stops for a moment before probing more intently, this time causing a distinct *click!* from the hum. The cliff face starts to slide, sidewards and inwards.-

Deziree: WOOHOO! It works! The notes were right! Alright, let's go inside! C'mon c'mon c'mon!

-The decade-older woman grabs Ludmilla by the wrist and drags her inside. The doors slide shut behind them once the door mechanism feels the psychic presence inside rather than out.-

Arkngthamz

-The walls spring and hum as odd, almost-neon torches spark to life. The hallway is musty - very, very musty. It almost smells moldy. In fact, plant life has sprung up in force around the ceiling.-

Deziree: Amazing! These plants must be getting water and nutrients from the lake above where we're standing!

-Ludmilla's previously blase attitude begins to turn as her presence triggers more and more lights to trigger as they walk down the large entryway. She notices something odd.-

Ludmilla: You said Alakagross preferred using bronze and orange metals, right?

Deziree: In the areas where both Alakazam and Metagross resided, yes.

Ludmilla: The metal on the walls is all silver.

-Deziree blinks and adjusts her glasses before taking out an LED flashlight. Indeed, the metal support beams reflect a silver-white light, almost mirror-like save for the dust, grime, and plant life covering it.-

Deziree: ... Huh. That is odd. But the door mechanism itself is plenty proof that it's from the civilization. I wonder what this city did differently.

-Once Deziree's voice dies down, both mother and daughter realize something.-

Ludmilla: Is that...

Deziree: Shh.

-They both stop. Once the footsteps stop echoing, the listen. A sound, almost like radio static, in the distance.-

Ludmilla: ... Running water?

Deziree: Running water usually doesn't sound like that unless it's a massive fountain or waterfall.

-They continue, passing old and decrepit boxes along the hallway - remains of the trade and commerce the city no doubt took part in.-

-The static, white noise grew louder as the hallway leads into a massive rotunda, with roads going in two different directions - north and south. Between the two paths, the rotunda wall is replaced by a massive window.-

-Deziree and Ludmilla walk towards the window, completely slack jawed.-

Deziree: They built it under the lake... just for this...

-The view from the window showed a massive city filling the cavern - towers, alleyways, canals, plazas, and rain. A constant downpour of rain, falling from the cavern ceiling, coating the entire forgotten city in a deluge of water.-

Deziree: It's been down here so long... under constant water flow...

-She looks down. Even from this distance - dozens of meters at least - she can still make out individual markings on the cobblestone walkways below.-

Deziree: And it hasn't even eroded in the least bit.

Ludmilla: A city of water... where it always rains...

Deziree: I can't even begin to comprehend the complexity of the original groundbreaking...

-The two stand there for a good while, at first just in pure admiration, then in academic inquisition as Deziree starts making an impromptu map of the area from their vantage point.-

Rogue: Could also be testing areas. Tech testing might need larger rooms, and locking them off can prevent tests from getting exposed to outside interference, and thus affecting test results. And you don't want some rando walking in right when you're firing off some sort of stun beam or something.

-They follow into the elevator.-

Ramona: That's so cool! Does she have psychic powers?

Victor: <How are they so casual about it?>

-"Suddenly, Ramonas shiny Whimsicott pops out of her ball."-

Norma: <Yes, the black death, I remember it all, People dropping like berries, blood and bile flowing through the streets, an army of zombies bowing to me. I remember my handy work well!>

Victor: <...What the hell are you talking about!?>

Humilau City

"Yeah, she's Fire-Psychic," Colton explained before he turned to Norma.

"How could you be responsible for the Black Death?" He asked. "You're a Grass-Fairy type!"

<Wait,> Sunny interjected, pulling Ramona's hand away. <you have a Shiny Pokemon, too?>

Victor: <No.>

<You might want to grab on to something,> Sunny said simply before she returned herself.

Colton facepalmed.

Waves crested outwards from the docks, crashing onto the wooden platforms and soaking everyone's shoes, save for Colton's. Sand exploded from the island, being blown out into the ocean breezes to be blown around forever.

The foliage on the edges of the dock was blown backwards, and a few branches snapped.

"If you're powerful enough to sacrifice a Legendary," Colton started, looking at Norma before he threw up a strange blue Pokeball and a Kartana materialized. "Prove it."

<What am I, just someone who attacks those you don't like?!> Caliburn said indignantly.
