^ Right, thanks. Also, what if I just want to use spells for utility? Which level I should stick att/int/fth to? Currently thinking of 18/15-18/15...but not sure if I should do that or not.
Give me cute or give me...something?I'm about to get a new computer soon. One of the plus sides is that I'll actually be able to play Dark Souls 3 on it. There's a version with all of the DLC and stuff included already for sale, right?
Disgusted, but not surprisedIf you want just utility magic, well, the minimum to cast the spell and enough ATT to have the ones you want to cast without a bonfire nearby in your slots.
Tears takes two slots, but as stated, can be attuned, casted, unaatuned and kept as a buff. Pretty sure all other utility spells run on a timer, so if you want to just use Tears, two slots.
Oh, and of course enough FP to cast your spells, I guess. I don't think you can even have a MAX FP so low that you can't cover the cost by the time you have an attunement slot or two.
Not yet, been waiting for that to be released but it's still $60.
It's about damn time they gave us a new date.
We all knew they were just waiting for the Paid Switch Online before they release, ugh.
... Still want it tho.
Dark Souls Trilogy Collection announced for PS4 and XBO for October 19th.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I didn't want it anyway.
Why no Europe release though?
I mean, the Trilogy is only available on systems that already have all three games, so it's nothing more than a marketing gimmick?
Feels that way to me too. I find it hard to imagine to anyone who cares enough to buy a trilogy set wouldn't already have all three games anyway.
Re-releasing games seems to be all the rage these days.
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreI mean, it might be a nice deal for someone who wants to get into the series, I guess.
Or a gift for a friend you're trying to assimilate.
Wondering if I should buy Dark Souls 3 now that I finally have a computer that can run it, or wait for a sale or remaster.
Disgusted, but not surprisedA remaster of 3 ? Either it's coming in forever and your pc won't actually be able to run it, or the only thing that's ever gonna be remastered is the price tag and you're probably better off grabbing the original and the dlcs when they're on sale.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Guess I'll wait for a sale. Much as I want to finally play the game, I really don't want to spend 80+ dollars on it and the DLC stuff.
Disgusted, but not surprisedJust look for the Fire Fades / Game of The Year Edition? Should be base price and DLC added for free.
Unless PC didn't get it, but that'd be dumb.
And I don't see a remaster of 3 happening until the console generation moves forward again, löl.

PC didn't get it.
Disgusted, but not surprisedOkay, so I just started Dark Souls 2, Scholar of the First Sin yesterday, and after running through Heide's tower a few times to grind the knights for souls, I noticed the one nearest the bonfire stopped respawning. So then I check Gamefaqs and find that enemies can be farmed to extinction in this game. As a player whose natural tendency in action RP Gs is to level grind through the stratosphere, this has set all my internal alarm bells off, even more so because the attribute system got rebalanced so I have to spread my level ups thinner than in DS 1.
So I need to know which stats are dump stats. I started as a knight and am going for my old Strength/Faith build from the first game. Had to drop 6 fucking levels into Attunement just to get a slot because the knight actually starts with 0 magic slots.
Presumably, Adaptability is this game's version of Resilience and can be safely dropped, correct? Also Intelligence is probably safe to leave if I'm going for Miracles over spells. Dex is just for meeting the minimum requirements to wield my weapons, and Strength is for actually hurting things with those weapons. But now that you need to level Endurance and Vitality together, how far should I go with them? And how far can I push Vigor til it's not worth the points anymore?
For reference, I'm SL 41 and none of my stats are over 16. This is a serious problem. I do have the Soul Vessel though, so if a respec is needed I'm good.
Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Adaptability is pretty important since it affects rolling invincibility frames and estus drinking speed. I'd suggest getting around 20 points in it.
By the way, joining the covenant of champions in Majula will stop enemies from despawning, but it also gives the enemies a boost in power and defense.

Yeah I know, not doing that. I did take the Bonfire Ascetic as my starting gift, so I can at least repopulate ONE zone after I've murdered everything to death.
How should I invest my points efficiently then when there are no clear Dump Stats? I'm level freaking 41 and have no idea where I'm going with this build. All my points have to go into too many skills to make my character effective. It wouldn't be so bad, but with the despawning enemies my level ups suddenly become limited.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Adaptability is the god stat that determines how fast you drink estus and how many I-frames your rolls have actually, level it until your agility is 100 or so. And don't worry about how high your level is, DS 2 is much easier to level in than 2 or 3.
Actually, I'd like to dispute the notion that you have to spread your levels thinner than in 1. While 2's very beginning is less kind to you, the overall game, ESPECIALLY scholar of the first sin, drowns you in souls because he throws a gazillion ennemies at you all the time, which more than compensates for the fact there isn o real dump stats.
I'm usually level 100+ at the end of ds1, while I tend to finish DS 2 around level 240+. Especially since there are real infinite grindspots (a certain lategame boss has a bonfire ascetic in his area, which respawns once you ascetic the area, which allows you to infinitely rekindle the area and kill it over and over again, and said boss happens to be a pushover).
Having replayed it about a year or two ago, I can say my stat sheet at the end was ridiculous, with something like 50 faith and int, 40 memory (because I spent most of the game playing hexes), 37 strength and dex(so I can dramatically shift focus and start powerstancing majestic greatsword with moonlight greatsword), the usual 25 adpatability and SOMEHOW still space for mid rolling in full havel armor and decent health/stamina. And I think the only thing you have to drop if you don't want to grind is the whole havel armor thing. the rest you won't have to grind to get it.
The real advice here is invest 10k+ souls to the merchant in the the forest of giants to get the silver ring + 1 that boost souls drops. and if you feel like it, kill the merchant at majula and take his armor, because it boost souls too and it stacks up. And if you don't wanna kill him, you'll have the opportunity to farm the armor set in another area in the game. Since you will be wearing this armor for 90% of the game, it makes equip weight de facto one of the last stat you want to invest in.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Cool, thanks for the input. can I at least leave Intelligence out, or will that screw up stat scaling with certain weapons? Also, what's a good early game weapon? I have both the Heide Sword and the Fire Longsword.
Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Any weapon that's not obviously terrible would work fine, really.
That works with any buff, even timed buffs like Power Within. Of course, it is considerably less useful for timed buffs, other than sitting down quickly to restore FP, I guess.
