So, this turned up on Rock Paper Shotgun so I thought I might float it out here and see what people think.

It's a 2d fighting game - I hesitate to use beat-em-up - between (at least, in the demo) two women. One (you) has a pair of knives. The other has a hammer. You fight to the death in a rainy alleyway.

It's not like most beat-em-ups; there's no fancy combos or limit breaks. In the RPS article it was compared to the old PSX fighting game Bushido Blade - the weapons do actual lethal damage, so there's much more emphasis on parrying, feinting, timing etc.

Here's an incredibly brief trailer:

(watch the legs)

Apparently, the plan is for the full game to have online play and level progression through (wait for it...) grinding (Hurrah! Thanks, Korea!). As it is, you need to login to the demo to try it; but you can't sign up on the demo, you need to download an external mini messenger program thing to register.

This Hardcore Gaming entry explains step-by-step how to get and play the game, and there's some controls in the comments. Obviously I imagine it will make more sense if you can read Korean.

Oh, and the game is quite violent and has blood in it (you can disable it ingame, though; when playing, you have to sheathe your weapons by pressing S; then press S again to make your character face the screen, whereby some little tabs with settings appear on the right).

I've tried it myself and it's fairly difficult, but I can see how it could be interesting to try and master. But what do you reckon?
