I was wondering if there should be a trope for "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."
It's getting on toward Thanksgiving again, and since the quote has been cited (along with the episode of WKRP that spawned it) on page after page from radio discussions to hulu's transmission of the thing itself, I can't help thinking Carlson's mournful line deserves troping.
The episode is regarded by many to be the best in the entire series. The line got used and the show cited as among the best comedies ever on ESPN Sports Radio this morning, November 24.
