No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...
I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?
Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

It doesn't? I don't remember seeing that in the FAQ.
It's in the designer's notes part where they announce it no longer being a beta rule.
It's a decent way of incentivizing space marine deployment, at least from my outside perspective.
It also means that Land Raider Crusaders aren't just absurd dakka machines.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Stormravens too.
To be honest, neither would have been over the top. But it is what it is.
How to Trial by Friendly Fire yourself by Regimental Protocol.
DEATH BEFORE DISHONOUR
I missed this when it was originally posted yesterday due to the Age of Sigmar stuff that came first but there was some 40K news from the Australian Championships:

Also a Skitarii transport

@Rotpar: You said a while ago that you wished the Drukhari had access to Incubi and Wrecks in Kill team but that they were only getting Mandrakes. Well the Contents for Kill team: Elites has been pre-viewed and your wish has been granted, the Drukhari are getting Mandrakes, Wrecks, Incubai and Grotesques◊.
Dang. Now I have to get creative when painting my Lychguard.

Hell yes!
My wallet screams, but it won't scream for long.

And judging by the models you were wanting, I'd wager you like it when your wallet screams!
Rotpar's wallet:
"I FEEL THE WARP OVERTAKING ME...IT IS A GOOD PAIN!"
Preview of some of the Elite Xenos rules for Kill Team. For Rotpar, here is the Drukhari stuff:
As with their Craftworld cousins, the Drukhari can utilise a selection of obsessions from one of their Kabals, Wych Cults or Haemonculus Covens (though only models with matching keywords will gain the ability). For example, fans of powerful short-ranged weapons such as blasters, blast pistols and shredders may want to choose the Kabal of the Obsidian Rose◊ to ensure maximum accuracy.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for an armour-busting advantage, the Coven of Twelve◊ will give you the (cutting) edge you need.
The introduction of the Haemonculus Covens sees the arrival of both Wracks and Grotesques to the Drukhari kill team rosters, each offering 5+ invulnerable saves and a minimum of 3 Attacks apiece. They are reinforced by the armour-cleaving Incubii and Mandrakes. The shadowy allies of the Drukhari in particular have been highly anticipated additions to the game, and their Shrouded from Sight◊ ability will give them a huge advantage in Kill Team.

Update on the 40K animated series: Angels of Death
Today, we’ve got big news for everyone following the show’s development. Last week witnessed the first script readthrough session. The Warhammer Story Forge team responsible for writing the scripts (Aaron Dembski-Bowden, Nick Kyme, George Mann and Andy Smillie) were joined by director Boman Modine and others from around Games Workshop headquarters for an afternoon of Blood Angels, donuts and serious discussion as they refined and polished the scripts.
As you can see from the pictures, the meet was a lot of fun, and many topics were covered, including the nature of void-warfare in the Dark Millennium, the hierarchy of a battle-worn detachment’s officers, Baalite accents and whether filled or plain donuts are best.
Of course, the content of the scripts remains a closely guarded secret, for now, but we can promise you ship-to-ship battles, a drop pod assault and an appearance from a very special, and dangerous, member of the Blood Angels Chapter… and that’s all in the first five episodes!
You all know exactly why he wants you to drive him closer
I can just feel the engineers' and Departmento Munitorum officials' brains' hemorrhaging at the suggestion of course-of-action with the earthshaker.
Nobody:
Cops, me (filled are best) and GW writers: DONNNNNNNUUUUUUUUUUTTTSSSSSSSSSSSSS
All the dark eldar stuff looks really damn cool. Hoping the power creep isn't officially out of hand...and the temptation to get a box of golden bananas is high...
And YES! to the "Drive me closer" meme.

I believe it is against forum rules to simply post videos and links without any explanation.
Anyway, today is Warhammer Fest Uk 2019 and Warhammer Community is doing their ususal Live Blog. Here is the preview scheduled◊. I will try to post updates here when I see them/remember/have time.
Here is a preview preview◊: Looks like a new tank (possibly the Skitarii transport hinted at last week) and something with lots of tentacles.
UPDATE 1: Contrast Paints◊
For you experienced painters, Contrast is a new weapon in your arsenal. It has distinctive properties and flow, both of which are unlike anything you’ve used before. On its own, it’s a great time saver – but combined with the rest of the Citadel paint range, it’s got incredible potential. Blending, glazes, and smooth gradients are easier to achieve than ever, and to help you experiment with this new paint, we’ll also be launching a new Contrast Medium which gives pros even more opportunities to play with this new paint’s unique properties. And with dozens of Contrast colours at launch, the sky’s the limit.

I'm a little sad that Bolter Discipline doesn't apply to vehicles, but ah well.
