The Quiet Party
I was planning on doing an update where Fail Shep hangs out with his squadmates on the Silversun Strip, but because I've only had him speak to Liara, she's the only one whose event is available. Liara's event is kind of boring has her play the first game's theme on the piano. The song is really good, but the conversation is boring.
Fail Shep buys some supplies from the Silver Coast Casino and has Glyph use them to set up the party.
There are two versions of the party, quiet and loud. Today, I will cover the Quiet Party.
The party has three phases.
In phase one:
- James and Cortez are relaxing on some couches. James is admiring the apartment, but jokes about how the party is too quiet.
- Liara and Traynor are discussing all the crazy things the crew of the Normandy has been through. This conversation contains the first of many instances of someone believing that they are talking to more than one person.
- Joker and EDI are discussing Cerberus. Joker finally points out that the overwhelming majority of Cerberus' experiments wind up getting loose and killing all their guys. EDI proves his point when she points out that Fail Shep's resurrection was a Cerberus experiment.
In phase two:
- EDI and Cortez are debating over whether to mix drinks or bake food. Fail Shep sides with Cortez, who wants to mix drinks, on the basis that alcohol can cause people to do stupid things and that's what Fail Shep excels at.
- Liara and James are debating over which Normandy is better. James prefers the SR-2 because it is more powerful, but Liara prefers the SR-1 because it was a symbol of cooperation between the humans and turians. Fail Shep chooses the SR-1, mostly because I haven't done that before.
- Joker and Traynor are discussing their feelings for EDI. There was a Joker / EDI romance subplot that I skipped and it looks like the game defaults to them getting together. Traynor is jealous of Joker because she really loves EDI's voice. The two of them eventually bond over Traynor's algorithm for deleting search records for robot porn.
In phase three:
- Traynor shows off her kickass bartending skills. Pity that there are only six other people at the party, so she doesn't get to rattle off her pun filled drink order list.
- James teaches Liara how to play poker. This turns out to be a dumb idea on his part, as she cleans him out with ease.
- Joker and Cortez are debating over who is the better pilot. They conclude that Cortez is the better shuttle pilot, Joker is the better Normandy pilot and Joker has gone through some weird shit over the last few years.
In our final installment, I shall send Fail Shep back in time to host the Loud Party.
