Okay, today, we're going to do Zangetsu's portion of the story. We pick up at the Dwarven Castle.

King Giott: Another quiet, peaceful day, my men! I wouldn't wish it any other way! We would never have earned this peace if it weren't for the hard work put in by all of you. Indeed, great were the casualties we suffered in that costly war of the Crystals. But we strove on! Yes, we soldiered on through the heartache, and...

Dwarf: Lali-ho, here he goes again.

Dwarf: Once he gets started, the king doesn't know when to stop.

King Giott: Regardless, to all of you, I offer my congratulations on another day's work well done. Now it is time to rest for the day yet to come! Make sure not to overindulge this evening!

Dwarf: Lali-ho!

The dwarves jump, but one of them looked kinda pathetic. Giott leaves.

Dwarf: You all right? That wasn't much of a jump!

Dwarf?: Of course I am. Tali-ho!

Way to stick out, Zangetsu.

Dwarf: What?

Dwarf?: Um... of course I am. Lali-ho!

Dwarf: Lali-ho! A dwarf is nothing if he can't jump high. You needa take better care of your legs!

Dwarf: Well, our work is done! Off to relax at the pub with some spirits! The pub's just upstairs on the right. It's down the corridor between the weaponsmith and armorer!

Okay, well, that's over, and we're in control of the dwarf that can't jump, which the menu clarifies is certainly Zangetsu. Let's get his introduction out of the way.

Zangetsu

Class: Ninja

Each of the guys training under Edge have one personality trait. Zangetsu's is being old. Anyway, combat wise, Zangetsu has rubbish stats, mainly thunder themed Ninjitsu, and Human Kite, which is just a fancy looking Jump. Honestly, there's not much else to say.

Unfortunately, being the first section we're doing, we can't afford anything except an Iron Armlet. Oh well, let's just head to the pub. Some dwarves mention going up to the battlements, so we do so.

Dwarf?: Ah!?

The Tower of Babil is glowing.

Dwarf: The Tower of Babil!

Dwarf: We must inform the king at once!

Dwarf?: It's finally begun!

Dwarf: Hey, you! Go report, now!

Dwarf?: Sorry, but my job here is done.

Dwarf: Huh!?

Zangetsu jumps off the top of the castle.

Dwarf: Wow! What a jump!

We land right in front of a cave.

Dwarf?: Oof! Ah, my back... That was higher than I thought. The tower's lit up! I must return to Eblan immediately and inform my master about this. It'll be a short distance to the Overworld once I get through these mines.

He takes the costume off and enters the Dwarven Mine Path. Now, here's another thing about this tale: If someone gets KO'd before we return to Edge, there's no game over. The character will be Killed Off for Real. This, combined with the fact that these characters are not very good solo can cause some annoyance.

There are a lot of treasures in this mine. The first big one we find is a Javelin. Our Attack is already much more powerful. Zangetsu learns Flash as we continue along.

The next big chest we find is Shinobi Gear. This gives us a couple extra points of Defence over his default Foot Ninja Gear, which we kinda need. We then come across a Trident, which is even better than the Javelin and does Lightning damage.

After that, we find a Headband then come across a healing pot. We're now nearly at the exit. a monster blocks the way.

Zangetsu: Ah. The journey home will be a bit difficult one... as I suspected!

The game tries to sell this as a boss, but it's just a Belphegor. Hell, Human Kite does 600 damage to it. It dies after two of those.

Zangetsu: That monster was far stronger than anything else I've encountered here. I have no time to spare! I'm coming, Master!

He runs out.

Which character would you like to play? (Full Moon)

Well, next time, we'll pick up on Izayoi's story.
