One day, just before this whole mess started, in Cecil's Bedchamber...
Cecil: ...
???: Looking for him again?
Hello Rosa.
Rosa: I wonder how he is faring.
Cecil: So do I.
Rosa: Do you think Ceodore is safe?
Cecil: I wouldn't be concerned. He has Biggs and Wedge with him.
Rosa: But still...
Cecil: Listen, Rosa. You need not worry for Ceodore. I know he understands.
Rosa: Understands what?
Cecil: That destiny is something you create for yourself.
Meanwhile, in Agart's observatory...
Apprentice: *yaaawn*
He looks into the telescope.
Apprentice: Oh my! Corio, sir! You have to see this!
Corio: What's all this racket for?
Apprentice: Th-the moon, sir!
Corio: What!?
We see the second moon approaching, then we cut to the Crystal Palace, where... Golbez and Cecil are fighting?
Golbez: Cecil!
Cecil is doing a lot of damage to Golbez, and Golbez can hardly hurt him back.
Golbez: Wait! Cecil, stop!
He falls soon after.
We cut to the Chamber of Sleep. Whew, I guess it was all a dream. By... the Man in Black. Well, I guess that answers that little identity question too.
Golbez: ! ...Was that... just a dream?
We're out in control now, so let's go over our new party member.
Golbez
Class: Lunarian
Hell. Yes.
What, you want more? Fine. Golbez is a pretty balanced character with good stats across the board, although his Speed could be a bit better. He's good with a sword, has Black Magic, but only spells that can deal damage, Pressure, which is a short term Stop, and Taunt, which makes enemies attack him instead of other allies. He's great.
Anyway, one more sleep pod thingy is empty, and it looks to be Fusoya's. Let's see if we can find him.
Leaving that area takes us to Lunar Subterrane B12, the place where Zeromus was defeted. We continue up to B11.
Golbez: Ah!?
The area darkens for a few seconds.
Golbez: I can feel something.
We continue heading up through the floors of crystal to B7. No enemies yet. But as we progress through here, we're attacked. No big deal, just a couple of turtle enemies. Blizzaga takes them out in one go. We head upstairs.
Encounters here are fixed, so we're free to just wander about. However, Golbez refuses to go to most of the dead ends, as he's pretty much set on going to the Crystal Palace.
We get attacked again before leaving B6, but Golbez can really easily take anything out as long as he can cast Bio.
We head to B5. There's a healing pot here. We also find Mythril Gloves. And then we get attacked again by a couple of lizards.
On B4, as we follow the path, the area glows red.
Golbez: (It's growing stronger!)
We, as should be expected, get attacked when trying to leave the floor.
Another healing pot on B3, and no encounters, as the walk to B2's pretty short. In B2, we find a Mythril Helm. Still no encounters, but we run into one on B1, which doesn't get finished in one round. We also find a Mythril Shield. I would equip it, but at this point I notice that Golbez can equip the Mythril Hammer that one enemy dropped, which gives us a pretty good Attack boost.
We leave the Subterrane and emerge in the Crystal Palace. Everything's glowing red.
Golbez: ! The Crystals! They're the color of blood.
Well, the Crystals here are capable of talking, maybe we should see what they say.
The right... ful... possessor...
The dark-dispell... ing light... must be unlocked...
They were created... The Crystals... alone...
Waiting... endlessly... the great secret, sequestered...
It has come... the object of our search...
The light... at the end of the winding path...
The history has been recorded... It must be revealed...
They are infinite... The rightful ones, floating in the void...
This does not sound good. Let's head for the entrance.
???: You noticed, I see.
Fusoya enters.
Golbez: Fusoya. You were aware of this? What do you think the Crystals are trying to tell us?
Fusoya: Something is happening here. Something that is beyond all of our understanding.
Golbez: What could have happened to our moon while we were in stasis?
Fusoya joins us. Like in FFIV, he's not permanent. Actually, he's pretty much the same as in FFIV. He's even still fixed at 190 MP. After healing up, we head outside. Well, I guess next time, we'll explore the moon.
