* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Is Madison actually stupid? Assuming the timeline in and out of universe and the ages are all consistent, she's been on her own since she was 14. Furthermore, her intelligence seems to vary a lot with the seriousness of the situation (ie. she is smart enough to find a safe place for refuge and she wears a winter jacket so that she can stay in the freezer, she reacts quickly to [[spoiler:pepperspray a zombie when Wichita's gun jammed, she remembers the ice cream truck and backtracks to it after being left for dead in a forest, she is able to drive the truck, she is able to actively search for Columbus and his group and signals to them when she's close to their vehicle, and she takes the initiative to drop objects on zombies with pinpoint accuracy when her friends are running towards Babylon]]). It's not hard to read her as simply having a very childish sense of humor she never got the chance to grow out of.
*** The final scene also hints that [[spoiler: she realized the "First Lady" the ring belonged to was Wichita, something she seemed oblivious to in a previous scene.]]
*** Furthermore, we see that her pepper-spray is effective at stunning zombies, which may mean that she carried it because she'd never had anyone to train her with a firearm and didn't trust herself to use one safely.
*** DelayedReaction as it was, even ''she'' lets out an incredulous BigWhat when she learns Babylon melted all their guns.
** The movie provides enough room to interpret Little Rock's attraction to Berkeley in two ways: 1) As she claims, she was eleven when the ZombieApocalypse hit and genuinely didn't know that most of Berkeley's "original songs" were pre-existing hits until he sang her a Music/BobDylan song, who as she snarks even twelve-year-olds know about. 2) She always knew that he was ripping off well-known musicians ([[FridgeBrilliance why wouldn't Tallahassee educate her on such things considering his obsession with the likes of Elvis?]]) but her desire for companionship with people her own age made her willingly let it slide until his claims of being a "songwriter" got on her nerves, to which she calls him out and randomly named Bob Dylan as an example of a singer everyone should already be aware of.
** Mateo Bianchi's Zombie kill of the year feels like overkill, but it seems odd that there were so few zombies around, and if those were the last zombies left in Pisa, then maybe it made sense to go to such lengths to kill them.
** Did Flagstaff realize he'd been bitten? He does seem genuinely surprised when Albuquerque points it out, and may not have realized it until then due to the exhilaration of the fight.
** Babylon: a hippie commune that managed to ride out the zombies for ten years, or a more recent gathering or individual survivors who happened to be hippies (or were willing to adopt that lifestyle) who formed the commune afterwards.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Music/{{Metallica}}'s "Music/MasterOfPuppets" is played as the opening theme this time.
* ContestedSequel: Reception for the film was much more mixed compared to the first. Some viewed it as a worthy successor for adding more new elements and characters, while others felt the sequel [[ItsTheSameNowItSucks reused too much from the first film]] and that the humor was relatively stale in comparison.
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Madison. Reviewers and many fans highlighted as the funniest character due to Zoey Deutch's hilarious performance and being extremely likable despite her stupidity.
** Flagstaff also has a disproportionately big fanbase after his scene of exchanging Rules/Commandments with Columbus and being nicer than Albuquerque.
* HesJustHiding: A quick cutaway before the kill makes it possible to wonder if the scientist attacked by a Hawking zombie in the opening sequence may have survived.
* HilariousInHindsight: The in-universe term "Murraying", referring to a human accidentally killed after being mistaken for a zombie after what happened to Creator/BillMurray (AsHimself) in the first ''Film/{{Zombieland}}'', might possibly remind viewers of "being Munsoned" (referring to just being royally screwed in some fashion) from the 1996 Farrelly Brothers comedy ''Film/{{Kingpin}}'' which starred both Creator/WoodyHarrelson and Bill Murray.
** Creator/AvanJogia having a role as a NonActionGuy is hilarious considering his role as [[Film/ResidentEvilWelcomeToRaccoonCity Leon Kennedy]].
* IKnewIt: [[spoiler:Many people had a hunch that in the trailer featuring Albuquerque and Flagstaff, it would be their one and only scene. They were absolutely right.]]
* MemeticMutation: Tallahassee's reaction to Madison getting all gung-ho about fighting zombies.
-->'''Tallahassee''': You'll be the first to die, but I like your enthusiasm.
* OneSceneWonder:
** [[spoiler:Creator/BillMurray appears in TheStinger taking place during the first day of the ZombieApocalypse, kicking zombie ass while "I'm Alright" from ''Film/{{Caddyshack}}'' blasts in the background, and taking even more piss out of his involvement with the ''Film/{{Garfield}}'' films.]]
** The woman from the opening scene who is chased by a Homer and ends up decapitating it once the zombies tongue is frozen to a pole.
** Mateo Bianchi, who drops the Leaning Tower of Pisa on a zombie.
** Arguably the scientist in the hi-tech lab being chased by a Hawking zombie (albeit more for his surroundings then his performance).
* SpecialEffectFailure: At one point in the RV shootout where Tallahassee is emptying his guns at the T-800, the muzzle flash doesn’t come out of the muzzle; instead appearing a few inches lower at hand-level.
* {{Squick}}: [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome Cathartic]] as it is, Tallahassee [[YourHeadAsplode smashing T-800's skull open]] is a rather gruesome sight. Appropriately, [[LampshadeHanging Madison is even left disgusted]].
* TearJerker:
** Tallahassee's and especially Columbus' reactions to discovering Wichita and Little Rock have left their family overnight, not even saying goodbye except leaving a note.
** [[spoiler:Madison's peanut allergy making it look like she was bitten and Columbus being forced to supposedly MercyKill her. Crossed with Heartwarming with the reveal that [[DisneyDeath she is still alive]] though.]]
** During the final showdown, [[spoiler:the main four are overwhelmed by an incoming horde of T-800’s, and they huddle together for what they think will be their final moments. Even Madison looks on with worry.]]
** [[spoiler:The reveal that Flagstaff was bitten twice by a T-800 before being turned into one himself. Even worse was that not only was he nicer than Albuquerque but his condition was revealed via Albuquerque (who was also bitten) throwing him under the bus.]]
* {{Wangst}}: BOTH of the sisters, and Wichita takes the cake. She comes back after Little Rock [[{{Irony}} leaves her]] and has the nerve to throw shade at Columbus for moving on when she abandoned him. Oh, and that was the third time too. Her lousy treatment of Madison does her no favors either.
