* CoveredUp: "Only You" was the band's debut and a big hit, reaching no.2 in the UK singles chart in 1982, it's still Creator/MuteRecords' biggest-selling single ever, and it remains an enduring SynthPop classic. Even so, it is the remarkable ACappella version by The Flying Pickets that was Number One for five weeks over Christmas 1983 (one of only a handful of a cappella chart-toppers in history) that arguably retains the higher profile to the present day.
* EclipsedByTheRemix: "Situation", eclipsed (particularly in America, where it was their biggest hit) by François Kevorkian's remix.
* OneSceneWonder: Eric Radcliffe's mum puts in a memorable appearance on "I Before E Except After C". They have her reading what sounds like the instructions for some of their studio equipment and she clearly has no idea what it's all about. And then she does that memorable "I'm allllll... riiiight" and a laugh at the end.
* SignatureSong: "Only You", "Don't Go", or "Situation".
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: "Don't Go" has vague lyrical and melodic similarities to "Nodisco" from Music/DepecheMode's [[Music/SpeakAndSpell debut album]]; granted, Vince was one of the founding members of Depeche Mode and was the chief songwriter for that album, so it may be a case of the song being [[RefittedForSequel repurposed]] for Yazoo.
