* AntiClimaxBoss: While Emperor Mew-Jora proves to be too much for Link, his form as Mew-Jora's Wrath is beaten rather easily as Link catches him using Yodachu's pokeball.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The series features a fantastic score composed by Joshua Peterson, who arranges classic Nintendo tunes in an orchestral manner intended to invoke the style of Music/JohnWilliams. Special mention goes to the [[https://youtu.be/dBhuzLJqjlQ?t=1m23s Gerudo Valley remix]] heard during the Battle of Hoth Fudge System in ''The Empire Smashes Back''.
* BrokenBase:
** The use of ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheWindWaker Wind Waker]]'' designs for the ''Zelda'' characters in the ''Super Smash Wars'' series. The game has lots of fans who find it to be appropriate given the cartoony artstyle of the rest of the cast, but to others it comes across as a bit arbitrary, especially since the various versions of Adult Link look more similar to Luke Skywaker and are closer to his age. This may be mitigated with ''The Triforce Awakens'' Part 2, which uses the ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Ocarina of Time]]'' Adult Link design as the basis for old Luke Skywaker.
** While it can be attributed to how [[CreatorsApathy James really did not like the rest of the sequel trilogy,]] there are some people disappointed with ''The Last Hero'', mainly due to how it doesn't have as much charm and attention to detail like the previous videos. This is most noticeable with the fights with Captain Phanto and the stand-off on The Crait Escape being condensed to overworld sprites ala ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3'' (save for Baby Brolo's face-off with a triforce projection of Link Skywaker). Additionally, the near-nonstop slew of [[TakeThat jabs to the original film]] [[OverusedRunningGag may come off as]] [[BrokenRecord repetitive]] to some.
* FridgeBrilliance: Why was Princess Daisy cast as Rey in ''The Triforce Awakens''? Because Rey's actress is Creator/DaisyRidley.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: Donkey Kong (Chewie) punching out Sonic (Lando) in ''The Empire Smashes Back'' never gets old.
* HarsherInHindsight: In ''Super Smash Wars: The Empire Smashes Back'', the [[VideoGame/IceClimber Ice Climbers]] wind up being {{Red Shirt}}s in the Hoth Fudge System battle. The Ice Climbers were ultimately cut from the next ''Super Smash Bros.'' installment for Wii U and 3DS. Fortunately mitigated now that the Ice Climbers have come back for ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate''.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** In ''Super Smash Wars'', Princess Peach and Bowser Jr. were put in the roles of Princess Leia and General Hux, respectively. Given that Bowser Jr. spends most of ''VideoGame/SuperMarioSunshine'' apparently believing that Peach is his mother, this casting choice becomes much funnier after the release of ''Film/TheLastJedi'', where Poe pushes Hux's BerserkButton by claiming that Leia has an urgent message about [[YourMom his mother]]. Sadly, this didn't make it into ''The Last Hero'', with the whole scene being condensed with a ''VideoGame/StarFox'' style overworld sequence.
** When ''The Triforce Awakens'' was released, Princess Daisy became one of the very few main characters in ''Super Smash Wars'' who was not a playable character in ''Super Smash Bros.'' The next game, ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'', features Princess Daisy as a playable Echo Fighter.
** Vinn is a dark-skinned Villager, which predates both the dark-skinned villager alternate costumes in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'' and the ability to make a Villager dark-skinned in ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossingNewHorizons''
** Obi-Wan Kenobi is portrayed by [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Kaepora Gaebora]] in the New Hope parody. Come Film/SonicTheHedgehog2020, and Sonic describes his caretaker Longclaw as "Obi-Wan Kenobi if he had a beak and ate mice,". Longclaw even pulls a HeroicSacrifice like Obi-Wan.
** Regarding Phantom Lord Ganon-Darth, Darth Vader's modern Japanese dub voice actor Creator/TaitenKusunoki was also the voice of Ganondorf himself in ''VideoGame/HyruleWarriors''.
