* CrossesTheLineTwice: The depiction of the Chao massacre in "''Adventure''" manages to be somehow hilarious ''and'' somewhat tragic all at the same time, as the adorably cute Chao are curb-stomped by a bunch of moronic warriors screaming in ridiculous voices. You end up getting MoodWhiplash several times over.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: [[spoiler:Infinite's]] HeelFaceTurn in ''Forces''. [[spoiler:Infinite stops himself from using the Phantom Ruby's destructive power]] because Cream [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe does something nice for him]] by offering him a cookie, which reminds him of a time when someone else offered him a cookie, the last nice thing anyone ever did to him. It even gets an "awww" reaction from the other characters!
* HilariousInHindsight: At the end of "''Riders''", Jet declares that he will never appear in any Sonic game again. Then ''VideoGame/SonicRidersZeroGravity'' was announced. So many people pointed this out to Roger that he got fed up and made a parody of ''Zero Gravity'' just to shut them up. That parody actually preempted this trope, with Wave making the same declaration followed by "The End?" and a shot of Roger's fans glaring expectantly at him. Sure enough, ''VideoGame/SonicFreeRiders'' was announced, and Roger had to make a parody of ''that'', too. Even if the Sonic Riders brand was killed due to ''Free Riders''' bad reception, Jet and Wave still appear in party games like ''Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games'', meaning Roger was dead wrong. Ironically, Cream ends up declaring she never wants to appear in any ''Sonic'' game again at the end of ''Free Riders'', which ended up becoming presciently HarsherInHindsight when she ended up falling OutOfFocus and failed to show up for ''VideoGame/SonicForces'' or ''VideoGame/TeamSonicRacing''.
* NarmCharm: Cream redeeming [[spoiler:Infinite]] with a cookie in ''Forces 4'' should by all accounts be ridiculous (and it's a re-used joke from ''Adventure''), but it somehow works because of the sentimental music and Roger somehow managing to turn [[spoiler:Infinite's infamous "I am not weak" line]] into something that actually makes him sympathetic.
-->'''[[spoiler:Infinite]]:''' I want my COOKIE!
* TakeThatScrappy: A recurring element of the series. Roger is not afraid to take it out on characters he hates.
** [[Anime/SonicX Chris Thorndyke]] shows up in "''Riders''" and "''Battle''" for the sole purpose of having the crap beaten out of him. If Roger's hatred of Chris wasn't obvious enough, he created a short Flash game based on the latter parody, called "''[[http://rogerregorroger.deviantart.com/art/Punchbag-the-game-28727161 Punchbag the game!!]]''". The object of the game? Beat up Chris to your heart's content.
*** Notably, when Roger actually parodied ''Sonic X'' itself in 2022 (specifically, the BaseballEpisode), he averted this entirely. Perhaps his hatred of Chris has cooled off over the years.
** Big gets this treatment in pretty much every one of his appearances. DoubleSubverted in "''Adventure''" where he's depicted as a sophisticated, intelligent zoologist, only for the GUN commander to react as though he's the Froggy-obsessed moron he's usually depicted as and throw him out before he can actually tell his side of the story.
** "''Rush Adventure''" gives Marine this treatment, with Sonic and Blaze pushing her around for the entire episode, only to subvert it in the ending by having Marine [[TookALevelInBadass take a level in badass]] and get her own back on them.
** Amy is a borderline example. While she's almost always been portrayed as an AxCrazy, Sonic-obsessed {{Yandere}}, exaggerating the parts of her character that fans have come to hate, she has never been treated with anything like the kind of vitriol that Big or Chris tend to get.
** "''London Olympics''" targets no less than three Scrappys: Toad, Omochao, and Bowser Jr. While Toad and Omochao have leading roles in the plot, Bowser Jr. (much like Chris Thorndyke) shows up for the sole purpose of being brutally killed to demonstrate how much Roger hates him.
** The Deadly Six in ''Lost World'' get this in a more subtle way, as they have even fewer frames of animation than the rest of the cast, and their exit is just a lazy rotation effect into the background. They also never get any lines beyond Zomom's occasional "sandwich". Zavok's recurring appearances in ''Forces'' and ''Team Sonic Racing'' paint him as pathetic for submitting to Eggman.
** Averted in Roger's parody of the infamous first movie trailer, which exclusively pokes fun at its SoundtrackDissonance instead of Sonic's much-loathed design. Played straight in the parody of the actual movie, which ends with Robotnik crash-landing on the mushroom planet and crushing the original movie Sonic in the process.
