* CultClassic: Despite doing extremely well ratings-wise (second only to ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' in the States on Creator/ComedyCentral and the highest-rated TV show ''ever'' in Canada) during its time, the series is largely forgotten in the mainstream these days, even among animation fans. Nonetheless, it retains a loyal fan following for its dry wit and relatable stories.
* EnsembleDarkHorse:
** Neil and Moira from the season 1 episode "Friends for Dinner" were particularly memorable for their half-assed attempts to entertain their guests, general bellyaching, and most of all for making Margaret lose her shit at least several times to the point of [[PrecisionFStrike dropping an F-bomb]] during an insufferable games night session until finally chewing them out for all the above mentioned things. Sadly, that episode is their only appearance making the hopes for them to return as recurring antagonists an impossibility.
** Beany and Boney, for being a pair of AffablyEvil burglars [[AmbiguouslyGay who may or may not also be in a relationship with each other]].
* HarsherInHindsight: The hijacking scene in "The Holiday" turns out to be AllJustADream but the same could not be said for what happens three years later in New York (ironically, the Fishes originally planned to go here for a holiday in the season 3 debut episode) making the violent nature of that scene more unnerving to witness and bordering on NightmareFuel rather than the original attempt at BlackComedy and BloodyHilarious.
* HoYay: The burgling pair, Beany and Boney, whose first appearance has them in casual conversation and when one of them hurts their finger, the other starts speaking to him rather affectionately and they even hug with the larger of the two hugging him from behind.
* NightmareFuel: The brutal murder of an innocent flight attendant at the hand of a terrorist in "The Holiday," complete with ''[[BloodSpatteredInnocents blood splattering over the guests.]]'' [[spoiler: Thankfully, [[AllJustADream it's just a dream Bob was having.]]]]
** The subplot with the kennel from the same episode, fitting with being a {{Homage}} to ''Film/{{Psycho}}.'' [[spoiler: Thankfully, the kennel-owner turns out to be a NiceGuy AnimalLover and his "mother" turns out to a giant doll rather than a corpse.]]
* RetroactiveRecognition: Creator/ChristianPotenza of ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}}'' fame makes his voice acting debut in this series as Bob's nephew Ray in the show's Canadian seasons.
* {{Squick}}: Some episodes of the show have a scene of Bob treating a patient. One in particular shows a man being administered anaesthetic through a syringe to the gums. It's particularly chilling if you have a fear of needles.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: "Sucks" might be too strong a word, but some agree that the third and fourth seasons, which had the title characters move to Canada, had viewers express that the show doesn't feel the same from the London seasons. Not helping is due to the Canadian content regulations (the impetus of the show's decision to change settings in the first place in order for the show to be funded), Bob's voice had to be changed from Andy Hamilton to Creator/BrianGeorge since the rule also requires that one of the leads must be Canadian. However, the new secondary cast was generally pretty well-received, especially by Canadian fans.
