1* ContestedSequel: People have a wide variety of opinions on this movie ranging from thinking it's completely unwatchable to loving it when they hated the first one. Critics of the film cite the removal of Roxanne, Max and Goofy's AesopAmnesia, the ExtremeSportExcusePlot, it not being a musical even though the first one was, and being another DirectToVideo Disney sequel (though not to a Franchise/DisneyAnimatedCanon movie this time) as reasons they dislike it. Fans of the film tend to mention the realistic depiction of EmptyNest Syndrome, Bobby getting more screentime, Goofy getting a LoveInterest, PJ getting a happy ending in general, and the great animation as what they enjoy.* EnsembleDarkhorse: ** Beret Girl, especially in the UsefulNotes/FurryFandom and among PJ fans, most of whom are at least mildly annoyed she didn't get a name. She is also part of a popular CrackPairing with Bradley. ** Tank, due to his personality and his HeelFaceTurn.** Sylvia Marpole. Certainly helped by her appearance and relationship with Goofy.* Fanon: The interpretation that Bradley has a FreudianExcuse (of a MissingMom and a father who is worse than Pete) to explain why he behaves the way he does. While it started as one fan's EpilepticTrees, it has been adopted by others since in several pieces of RecursiveFanfiction.* HoYay[=/=]FoeRomanceSubtext: Bradley towards Max, just a little. When they first meet, his greetings sound like come ons, and they decide that whoever loses the finals will be the other guy's towel boy. It's a little weird.* IdiotPlot: A lot of the drama hinges on the rest of the characters' blatant ignorance of the Gammas' obvious cheating; nobody even questions any of the insane moves Goofy is able to pull off even though he is clearly out of his league.* MemeticMutation:** "Do you ever wonder why we're always, like, wearing gloves?"** Max's hilarious screaming when Goofy enters the college.** "I'm just a-YEARNIN' for some LEARNIN'!"* MisaimedFandom: Website/YouTube comments all over the place for both movies (but not WesternAnimation/GoofTroop) either dismiss PJ as "the fat guy" or ridicule him for his weight. PJ's statement that judging people on their size alone is a cultural problem in this movie, combined with how sympathetically he's played over the entire series and the fact that his weight is a very minor part of his character and he's the same shape as his radically different father, indicate this is not the proper reaction. Unfortunately, not even the disco scene itself is immune.* MoralEventHorizon: Bradley is just a JerkJock until he tries to kill his competitors when they get ahead of him, and even leaves his right-hand man to die so long as it means he wins.* PopularWithFurries: Bradley, Beret Girl, Sylvia, adult!Max, and adult!PJ are popular.* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Many fans think the sequel is completely ruined based solely on the fact that it doesn't contain Roxanne.* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: This movie draws some criticism from fans based on the fact that it basically glosses over both PJ's happy ending, romantic subplot, and CharacterDevelopment (to the point that his girlfriend doesn't even get a name), and the fact that Max is (probably) getting a new stepmother, which could both be good stories in their own right, in favor of the ExtremeSportExcusePlot and Max and Goofy getting AesopAmnesia. The fact these subplots tend to be the best-received parts of the movie doesn't help. Additionally, some feel that even during the ExtremeSportExcusePlot, Bradley was shafted on characterization.* UncannyValley: Due to the limited budget, some of Bradley Uppercrust III's facial movements and expressions can come across as bizarre and creepy.** Many of the character designs fall into this, since while some characters like Max and Goofy look like properly done FunnyAnimals, others, including Bradley Uppercrust III, look like they just stuck a dog nose and ears on a human and called it a day, which clashes with the other designs and just looks weird by itself.----
