"Beep, Beep" is a 1952 ''WesternAnimation/MerrieMelodies'' short, and the second cartoon to star WesternAnimation/WileECoyoteAndTheRoadRunner (Wile E.'s second appearance was technically in "WesternAnimation/OperationRabbit", where he was pitted against WesternAnimation/BugsBunny).

After missing his target by a feather during their latest chase, Wile E. plans some new schemes, including a boxing glove attached to a spring, dropping an anvil from a tightrope, an explosive glass of water, rocket skates and a fake railroad crossing.

----
!!"Beep, Beep" provides examples of:

* AbandonedMine: Wile E. and the Road Runner chase each other into one during the cartoon.
* AnvilOnHead: The Coyote makes a plan to walk on a tightrope and drop an anvil on the Road Runner. What makes the plan ineffective is that the weight of the anvil combined with Wile E.'s causes him to go down to the road.
* BinomiumRidiculus: Respectively ''Carnivorus Vulgaris'' and ''Acceleratii Incredibulis;'' almost a precise duplicate of what we saw in "WesternAnimation/FastAndFurryous.'' Those Latin terms would be used one last time in the third cartoon, "WesternAnimation/GoingGoingGosh".
* BlowingARaspberry: The Roadrunner does this when he sees the glass of water. He then goes over to where Wile E. is, holding a sign, blows another raspberry, and then goes on his way.
* {{Bowdlerization}}: When this cartoon aired on Nickelodeon, the scene of Wile E. Coyote finding out his parachute is actually a knapsack filled with camping gear as he falls was edited to remove him taking out a pack of Acme Aspirin and swallowing them before waving pathetically at the camera and falling to the bottom of the gorge.
* BrickJoke: [[spoiler:Once Wile E. gets up from the crater after his mishap with the rocket skates, he accidentally activates the explosive glass of water from earlier and succumbs to the explosion that results]].
* ByTheLightsOfTheirEyes: A variation - during the mineshaft chase, the only thing we see are the lights from the helmets Wile E. and the Roadrunner are wearing.
* ColourCodedForYourConvenience: During the mineshaft chase, Wile E. wears a red helmet while the Road Runner wears a green one.
* CrazyPrepared: Wile E. tries to be this by wearing a parachute during the anvil scheme. Too bad he put the wrong backpack on...
** At least Wile E. had some Acme Aspirin on hand. Let’s hope that it actually worked …
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: One of the rules for the shorts was that the Road Runner must stay on the road. However, there is an extended sequence where the Coyote chases the Road Runner in a mine shaft.
* ExtendoBoxingGlove: [[RedBoxingGloves One]] that's attached to a rock serves as the Coyote's first scheme.
* FantasticFireworks: Wile E. attempts to chase the Road Runner on a rocket at one point, which predictably shoots high into the sky and explodes into an "Eat at Joe's" sign.
* ImpactSilhouette: The Coyote leaves one in the road when his springboard attempt fails.
** He leaves a second one in the ground after he falls from a great height thanks to the power on his rocket skates depleting.
* InTheBack: Wile E. tries to do this to the Road Runner while chasing him... [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption and fails]].
* LawOfInverseRecoil: The outcome of Wile E.'s first scheme.
* MatchlightDangerRevelation: Once Wile E. loses the Road Runner in the mine shaft, he lights a match to reveal himself [[MatchInABombShack in a TNT-filled room]]. Cue the explosion and some cacti forming the word "YIPE!".
* OhCrap: Wile E. gives the camera a pathetic look of resignation as he realizes he just triggered one of his previous traps (the outcome of the BrickJoke indicated upward).
* RailroadTracksOfDoom: The final gag has Wile E. setting up a fake railroad crossing in an attempt to stop the Road Runner, who doesn't buy it and simply knocks Wile E. into the air. Afterwards, a real train comes out of nowhere and runs over the Coyote.
* TalkingWithSigns: Peppered with a dose of {{Irony}}, the Road Runner expresses his disapproval of the Coyote's third plan with a sign that reads "Road Runners can't read and don't drink".
* TheEnd: The phrase appears on a sign attached to the train's caboose.
* TightropeWalking: Wile E. walks on one in his second scheme to kill his prey, but the anvil is so heavy that he slides down to the pavement. As the Road Runner comes in and taunts him, the Coyote drops the anvil to chase him, only to be shot into the stratosphere before he can lay a foot on the road.
* TruthInTelevision: Roadrunners actually do not need to drink water, as it comes from their diet. Unfortunately, Wile E. apparently wasn’t aware of this little fact.
* WideEyesAndShrunkenIrises: Wile. E's reaction when he accidentally triggers the fake drink stand.
* WrittenSoundEffect: The cacti spelling out "YIPE!" after the mine explosion beneath.
* WrongParachuteGag: Guess what ''doesn't'' come out of Wile E.'s backpack as he's falling back to the canyon floor...
