''An Epic Comic'' is a comic book series created by Mario Hyrulia. It follows Sonic the Hedgehog and other characters in a large adventure. At first, it seems to be a mere crossover with Dr. Eggman, Bowser, and Dr. Wily teaming up to permanently kill off their rivals. Sonic narrowly escapes this fate, but is now stuck with a single death and it appears he is then on a quest to defeat the villains before they permanently kill off the other two. However, by the fifth issue, things escalate that involve the fourth wall, the 7th power, and the real world. Will Sonic stop this evil threat and save his world, (and the universes) from the hands of evil? Find out next time on the next thrilling installment of An Epic Comic!

!! An Epic Comic contains examples of...

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:A-C]]
* ActuallyIAmHim: [[spoiler: Corset is ???]] and [[spoiler:the narrator is the author.]]
* AlternateUniverseFic: An odd example, the characters are the same from their original franchise, [[spoiler:it's that ??? has seen an alternate universe his writers made as canon to the franchise that insults him greatly for what they do to him in there.]]
* AttackHello: When we first physically see the Nostalgia Critic, he comes down from the sky in his [[FlyingCar flying car]] and shoots down the Copper Chopper v.2.
* BackFromTheDead: A non-spoiler example, Corset. [[spoiler:In more than one way...]]
* BadassCape: [[spoiler:The members of the Society of the Free Mind]] in wear these [[spoiler:with the symbol on the back.]]
* BatmanGambit: Averted. The Austrailium missile has [[WireDilemma two wires, one red and one blue,]] the safe wire on bombs is commonly red, so most people think that the missile designer would shake it up and have the safe wire being blue. The missile designer apparently ''wants'' them to cut the blue wire, which is the unsafe one. The Nostalgia Critic points this out to Tails and he cuts the safe red wire.
* BerserkButton:
** When the Nostalgia Critic insults the narrator about the comic, the narrator tries to pull this;
---> NC: Your comic sucks right off the bat.
---> Narrator: Bat Credit Card.
---> NC: Hey! That's behind me.
** Dr. Eggman hates it when people break the fourth wall.
* BaitAndSwitch: What at first seems to be a simple villainous team-up, it turns into a complex cult with odd intentions; [[spoiler: To literally kill all of OUR world's authors and rule their universe with nothing in their way.]]
%%* BigBadDuumvirate: Bowser, Eggman, and Dr. Wily
* BigBrotherIsWatching: The narrator is similar to this to keep the characters from breaking the comic rules [[spoiler: and to warn the author of outside threats.]] However, since issue #7, he has been stabilizing the [[Wedvideo/ToBoldlyFlee Plot Hole.]]
%%* BlackHelicopter: The Copper Chopper.
* {{Bowdlerise}}: Done IN-universe by Sonic when he tears out the more, mature page, from "Meet the Spy."
** How he knows that, he probably read ahead off-page.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: [[spoiler:Kneesocks fears Scanty has become this after becoming a free mind.]]
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Almost the entire premise of the comic, everybody does this, [[spoiler: and it's part of ???'s evil plan, only it's to WIPE the wall from existence.]]
** The narrator claims too much of this messes up the comic, by creating errors.
** However, mass breaking of the fourth wall is shown to result [[ScreenTap in the screen/page cracking.]]
*** [[spoiler: The author was rushing and gave a lazy excuse for the errors.]]
%%* BreathWeapon: Bowser, naturally.
* BrickJoke: After Dr. Wily [[spoiler: hacks the comic and puts his and Eggman's scene first with a few ascetic changes.]] The narrator catches him and Wily [[spoiler: resets the comic.]] Later, when the same scene is repeated, Wily gets the strange feeling of deja vu.
* ButtMonkey: The narrator of all people, he is shot down by most people for what he does and even Panty and Stocking a reluctant that he is gone, stabilizing the Plot Home.[[spoiler: He bites back when it's revealed that HE'S the 7th Power.]]
* CarFu: Stocking and Chuck drive their jeep up a ramp into the air and smash into the Copper Chopper.
* ChaosIsEvil: Corset and [[spoiler: ???]] is obsessed with chaos.
* CoolCar: Both Panty and Stocking's jeep, See Through and the Nostalgia Critic's flying car with lasers.
* CurseCutShort: Usually the angles and demons are about to swear when someone/something interrupts the rest of the word.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:D-F]]
* DeathIsCheap: At least you think that until your extra lives are cut from you.
* EndOfSeriesAwareness: [[spoiler: ??? is aware of this and uses this knowledge to get more people to join the SFM.]]
* EnergyBeings: [[spoiler: ???]]'s plasma arms can be considered this, and appear to be somewhat sentient.
* Excalibur: 7 Different blades. [[spoiler: Forged together with the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald creates to Sword of Oryts.]]
* ExtremelyShortTimespan: According to An Epic Comic, the events of Team Fortress 2's "Meet the Spy" are only a day away from "Meet the Rabbid Heavy Taming Engineer."
** And then in just a few minutes, "Make a Mann Out of You"'s climax breaks loose, Team Fortress 2 is a VERY chaotic place.
* FightMagnet: Wherever Sonic and his friends go, they're always end up getting involved in a fight one way or another.
** Justified as half of them WANT them dead and the other half just confuse them for enemies.
--> RED Soldier: (Offscreen) Get that BLU (Sonic) men!
* FightOffTheKryptonite: [[spoiler: [[HeroicSacrifice Panty does this to stop the Demon Shard missile from destroying ???'s flying fortress.]] She lives.]]
* TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: [[spoiler: What may happen if the BigBad fully destroys the fourth wall.]]
* FlyingCar: The Nostalgia Critic's car, took bad it ran out of fuel [[Webvideo/ToBoldlyFlee like many other things he got his hands on.]]
* FogOfDoom: [[spoiler: ???]] is made of this. [[spoiler: [[SuperSmoke Or so it seems...]] ]]
* FourthWallObserver: Everyone (mostly) is this, they know their in a comic.
** The narrator, [[spoiler: the Nostalgia Critic, and the SFM]] deserve special notice [[spoiler: for the narrator's the author and Critic and the SFM are free minds.]]
* FriendlyFire: Justified when the Soldier thinks the BLU Spy is the intruding enemy RED Spy.
--> Soldier: What? It was obvious, he's the RED Spy. (He's wrong)
* FunWithAcronyms: [[spoiler: SFM is short for the Society of the Free Mind, [[ShoutOut it is also short for Source Filmmaker.]] ]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:G-I]]
* GoodWeaponEvilWeapon:
** The angels' white and blue guns against the demons' yellow and black guns.
** [[spoiler: The Sword of Oryts (good) has a white blade, and the Sword of Daryts (bad) has a black blade.]]
* GoryDiscretionShot: Completely averted when the Soldier blows off the Spy's head with a shotgun. Sonic lampshades this after watching this.
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler: ???]]
* GuardianOfTheMultiverse: [[spoiler: Knuckles]]
* HardLight: The plasma-hands that [[spoiler: ???/Corset]] summon that can manipulate with physical objects.
* Homage: The second conversation between the Daemon Sisters and [[spoiler: ???]] pays homage to [[Franchise/StarWars with the recreation of the scene where Darth Vader talks to Emperor Palatine about Luke]] (Or in this case, the Nostalgia Critic.)
* HellishCopter: The first Copper Chopper, justified because the thing that destroyed it was a FLYING JEEP controlled by a crazy... dog... thing...
* ImaginationBasedSuperpower: [[spoiler: Corset's and ???]]'s plasma arms are created from their mind and can become a variety of things;
** Hands, duh.
** Cracks deep in stone walls to create [[spoiler: a giant doomship.]]
** And [[spoiler: clones/imposters of himself.]]
* InnocentBlueEyes: Tails
* InteractiveNarrator: This narrator hates when people break the comic's rating rules and extreme breaking of the fourth wall. The characters be mean to him for this and some outright torture him by causing significant visual damage to the fourth wall. [[spoiler: Who knew they were picking a fight with the author?]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:J-L]]
* KilledOffForReal: If your extra lives are cut from you, this is a legitimate threat.
* KryptoniteFactor: Demon Shard is a type of crystal found in the deepest pits of the Underworld, it is very deadly to angels.
* LargeHam: Almost every male villain is this, including the narrator and the Nostalgia Critic.
* LemonyNarrator: Check, the narrator is seen constantly conversing with the characters, stopping what they are doing, and even bringing in other characters. [[spoiler: It doesn't get any weirder when it turns out ''he's'' the author.]]
* LineOfSightName: The Nostalgia Critic is trying to think of a store name where he got the "Spy" getup and not get killed. He stares at the group of soldiers and says, "Men... Co."
** Fortunately, they mistake it for Mann Co., the store in their game, and let him live.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:M-O]]
* MacGuffin: The seven Chaos Emeralds, the seven blades of Excalibur, and the Master Emerald [[spoiler: to create the Sword of Oryts.]]
* ManBehindTheMan: Played with, [[spoiler: Corset is behind ???'s doings because [[ActuallyIAmHim they are the same person.]] ]]
* MediumBlending:
** The common occurrence of seeing 2D characters interacting in 3D environments, live-action people and even [[spoiler: real life people.]]
** Bowser apparently has the ability to change his medium apparently after the events of [[VideoGame/MarioAndLuigiDreamTeam Mario and Luigi: Dream Team.]]
** [[spoiler: The chaos dimension outside of the comic seems to constantly change and even have effects on Scanty and Kneesocks upon entering the zone.]]
* MediaWatchdog: The narrator is a spoof of the U.S. Media Watchdogs that allow as much violence as humanly possible, but will not tolerate foul language or sensual content. The characters lampshade this to death and hate on the narrator for what he has to do.
* MessianicArchetype: When you think at it, there's an ENTIRE cast of archetypes.
--> God: [[spoiler: The Author/ The 7th Power]]
--> The Holy Ghost: [[spoiler: The narrator]]
--> Jesus: [[spoiler: The Nostalgia Critic]]
--> The Devil: [[spoiler: ???]]
--> The Antichrist: [[spoiler: Corset]]
* MetafictionalDevice: The pages themselves in the comic, they can be messed with just like with real life comic books.
* MexicanStandoff: A metaporical example that involves only villains;
** Hades and Bowsers are planning to backstab each other first and then take out the other villains.
** Eggman and Wily also plan to take out each other first and then the others.
** Scanty and Kneesocks plan to backstab [[spoiler:??? and Corset]] and then take over the universe with [[spoiler: ??? planning to backstab them and even expand on just taking over the universe.]]
* MyNameIsQuestionMarks: The name of the mysterious person from [[spoiler: the chaos dimension and leader of the SFM.]]
* MysteryCult: The Society of the Free Mind's (SFM) inner circle is only accessible if you become a free mind. [[spoiler: The reason for this being is that you can't actually fully comprehend the true intentions if your mind is limited to the comic.]] ]]
* NoFourthWall: The narrator claims that this will [[EndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt cause the end of the world.]]
* NoNameGiven: The unknown person, (later called ???) that is assisting Scanty and Kneesocks and leader of the Society of the Free Mind.
* OminousOperaCape: Scanty flat out says that [[spoiler: Corset is wearing one of these. She soon also gets one.]]
* OncePerEpisode:
** Each comic ending with the narrator stating "to be continued..."
** Played with when he is confronted with the demon sisters threatening to tear the fourth wall down.
** Even inside a massive space anomaly, he still finishes with the phrase after quitting to count the bottles of beer on the wall.
* OrderVersusChaos: In the battle between the Sword of Oryts and the Sword of Daryts, [[spoiler: the wielder of the Sword of Oryts (Order) was good and the wielder of the Sword of Daryts (Chaos) was bad. ???]] believes that order will defeat chaos as the trope goes. [[spoiler: However, Sonic and Critic reveal that it's not order that beats chaos, it's that good beats evil.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:P-R]]
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: Hades gets punched by [[spoiler: ???]] and is knocked back into the river of death.
* PreAssKickingOneLiner: Sonic, of all people, to quote [[VideoGame/DukeNukem Duke Nukem]] of all things;
--> Sonic: Time to waste lives and kick butt, and I'm all out of lives...
* PureEnergy: [[spoiler: Corset's/???]]'s plasma-like hands are supposedly made of this.
* PutOnABus:
** Hades after being knocked back into the river of death [[spoiler: by the Society of the Free Mind.]]
** The narrator is left stabilizing the Plot Hole, however, [[OncePerEpisode he still says "to be continued..." at the end of every issue.]]
* RageAgainstTheAuthor: ???'s plan for [[spoiler: ALL of the authors that mistreat their characters.]]
* ReadingAheadInTheScript: Sonic does this twice, the first to show Panty and Stocking that they're going to the Valve canon and the second being off-page to rip out the more, 'sensitive' page.
* Realism: Oh things become real, [[spoiler: when the characters enter our world.]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Corset [[spoiler: and after Scanty becomes a free mind, her eyes grow with the symbol in purple.]]
* RidingTheBomb: Sonic and his team ride the Austrailium missile to get to the Smash Bros. Tournament, thanks to Tails' hacking.
* RocketRide: Tails' hacking reprograms the Austrailium missile so Sonic and friends can ride it to the Smash Bros. Tournament.
* RollOutTheRedCarpet:
** Used by the Daemon Sisters to knock out Sonic in their small Smash Bros. battle.
** Sonic gets hit by it earlier when the sisters first arrive.
* RunningGag: The final page constantly noting about Hades' broken roof and everyone laughing at [[EmbarrassingFirstName Panty's and Stocking's last name.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:S-U]]
* ScreenTap: Whenever the fourth wall is broken too much, (page ripping, hole tearing, folding the pages, etc.) visible cracks and damage is shown on the screen/page.
* SealedEvilInACan: [[spoiler: The unnamed entity, (later named ???) being sealed inside the chaos pocket outside the comic.]] What makes this example odd is that he was able to leave it anytime we wanted, but instead waited until [[spoiler: the demon sisters found it and contacted him for their backstabbing plan.]]
* [[spoiler: SelfInsertFic]]: [[spoiler: The author inserts himself as the narrator of the comic.]]
* SignedUpForTheDental: Parodied by Cubot and Orbot;
--> Cubot: Why do we continue to work for Eggman?
--> Orbot: Well he does have good dental.
--> Cubot: But we don't even have teeth.
* SuperSmoke: [[spoiler: ??? uses this to his his true identity.]]
* TechnicolorMagic: [[spoiler: The Society of the Free Mind's]] powers are shown in purple.
* TerribleTrio: It WAS going to be this with Bowser, Eggman, and Wily until Bowser let Hades join.
* {{Troperiffic}}: This comic is TRYING to put in as many tropes as possible.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:V-Z]]
* WalkingSpoiler: [[spoiler:[[NoNameGiven The unnamed]] {{big bad}}.]] Pretty much, everything after issue #5 is complete spoiler zone.
* WebcomicTime: It takes about 1-2 weeks for Mario Hyrulia to make a new issue, which focuses on events of, at most, a single day.
* WireDilemma: An odd example, Tails has to hack into the Austrailium missile with two wires. One wire allows changes to be made to it and the other wire locks the missile so one can tamper with it. With the help of the Nostalgia Critic knowing of [[BatmanGambit Batman Gambits]], they cut the right wire, re-coordinating the missile.
** This is odd however, since whoever designed the missile probably wants the hacker to ''think'' that instead of the (common) red wire being cut, they made the safe wire blue. The Nostalgia Critic is one step ahead of this by knowing the plot and tells Tails to cut the red wire.
* WorldOfChaos: [[spoiler: The chaos dimension outside the comic but still within the fourth wall. ??? has mastered many of his powers within there.]]
* YourHeadAsplode: The Spy gets the receiving end of this when the Soldier pulls a shotgun on him.
