''RUSTORATION'' is an upcoming [[ZombieApocalypse Zombie]] [[SurvivalHorror Survival Horror]] [[FirstPersonShooter First-Person Shooter]] video game being developed in [[Creator/EpicGames Unreal Engine 5]] by indie game developer Jasmine Santos.

You play as [[SoleSurvivor one of the only robots left]] after a violent apocalypse of [[RoboticUndead mechazombies]] ravages your world. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic Germany, where a virus outbreak has turned humans and androids into these monstrous creatures. The world you reside now is hopeless and dark. In the game, you have to kill these creatures and [[BodyHorror collect their body parts]]. There are three types of mechazombies and each one [[EasilyDetachableRobotParts drops a different body part]]. Upon collecting them, you can use them to upgrade your player character.

This game is a remake of another project of the same name, developed in Scratch, which can be played [[https://jasminesantos.itch.io/rustoration2d here]].

The remake itself is a work in progress with no official release date, but will be first released as a demo on itch.io by [[https://jasminesantos.itch.io Jasmine Santos]].
----
!! ''RUSTORATION'' contains examples of:
* AbsurdlySharpClaws: The Daisy have extremely sharp claws for no apparent reason other than to do more damage than the other Zomborgs.
* ArtificialHuman: The androids and cyborgs that populate the world, including Sergeant and Tobias.
* AfterTheEnd: The game is set in a post-apocalyptic Germany, where a virus outbreak has turned humans and androids into Zomborgs.
* ApocalypticLog: The player can find various documents and recordings that detail the [[spoiler:events leading up to and during the outbreak, such as the origin of the Daisy virus, the mutations of the Speezy and the Haemos, and the attempts to contain them]].
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: The Haemo are incredibly large, almost titan-sized, though some might be smaller than others.
* BodyHorror: The Zomborgs are horrific examples of this trope, as they are made of flesh and metal fused together in unnatural ways. The Daisy have their limbs replaced by tungsten claws, the Speezy have their skin melded with rubber tires, and the Haemos are giant masses of muscle and bone with thick skin.
* CameraAbuse: The game has death cutscenes where the Zomborgs taunt the player.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: Each Zomborg has a colour that is associated with them, so the player can differentiate them, and is seen in their glowing eyes.
** Daisy: Cyan
** Speezy: Lime Green
** Haemo: Red
* CreepyChild: The player will encounter [[spoiler:child versions of the Speezy and Daisy later in the game. The younger Speezy are especially quick. Considering they are children who got infected and not Zomborg's offsprings, means that they will be a child forever, making it that much terrifying]].
* CreepySouvenir: Harvesting claws, feet, and hearts from defeated zombies to upgrade yourself.
* CastOfPersonifications: All three types of Zomborgs are a personfication of the basic video game attributes:
** The Speezy represent Speed; they're extremely fast, and when killed, their collectible is their feet, allowing the player to upgrade their speed.
** The Daisy represent Damage; considering they do the most harm to the player in a single hit, and their claws are the collectible after they are killed, allowing the player to also do more damage.
** And finally, the Haemo represent Health; since they are the most resilient and fleshy, dropping their heart as a collectible when killed, which gives more health to the player as well.
* CoolOldGuy: Despite his traumatic past, Tobias maintains a calm and collected demeanor, and is well-liked by the survivors who frequent the Rusty Wrench.
* {{Cyborg}}: The player character is an android military sergeant who wakes up in a cyborg’s shop months after the outbreak. The cyborg, Tobias, is a friendly NPC who sells weapons and items to the player.
* {{Dystopia}}: The game depicts a bleak and hopeless world where Zomborgs have overrun most of Germany and humans are extinct. The only remaining androids are either infected or in hiding, and there is no known cure for the virus.
* FallenHero: It is implied that [[spoiler:the PC used to be highly respected in their community and work, though after a specific traumatic event in the military, something changed and they turned corrupted and cruel.]]
* GadgeteerGenius: Tobias is a skilled inventor and engineer, able to create new weapons and modify existing ones to help the PC in their fight against the Zomborgs.
* GameFavoredGender: Though the PC's [[HelloInsertNameHere name is whatever the Player chooses]], PC has female voice lines and a female model.
* GeneticAbomination: [[spoiler:Having been man-made,]] the Haemo are not only colossal in size, but are made of grotesque blood and flesh along with some parts of metal sticking out from their endoskeletons.
* GeneticEngineeringIsTheNewNuke: [[spoiler:The Haemos are a product of genetic engineering, where scientists modified the nanotech in the Zomborg viruses and combined them with each other (amongst others) to create a stronger, more resilient version of the extinct human race. However, the Haemos turned out to be too tough and went on a rampage.]]
* GlowingEyes: All three types of Zomborg have glowing eyes, which is especially prominent in dark areas.
* GiantMook: The Haemo are the most resilient enemies in the game that tower over the other Zomborgs.
* HeroWithAnFInGood: Despite being the hero the world needs, PC isn't morally good due to their horrid actions and questionable views.
* HiddenDepths: Only shown if the Player chooses to [[spoiler:play a nicer PC]], which then showcases that PC has some [[spoiler:selfless kindness deep inside them, sacrificing their happiness for the greater good in the end]].
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: In the True Ending of the game, it is revealed that [[spoiler:the player character, who used to be a member of the police force, was part of the team that was sent to contain the initial outbreak and kill the infected family members]].
* ItemDropMechanic: The player must fight Zomborgs to collect parts and upgrade their stats. For example, defeating a Daisy will drop its claws, which can be picked up to increase damage output. Defeating a Speezy will drop its feet, which can be used to improve movement speed. And defeating a Haemo will drop its heart, which can be used to boost health.
* InterfaceScrew: The game’s HUD resembles a camera with VHS-like effects, which can distort or glitch out when the player is damaged or near death.
* KillerRobot: All of the main characters in the game are robotic and have committed murder. This includes the Zomborgs, the PC, and Tobias.
* LastOfHisKind: The PC is this as the last sentient robot in a world overtaken by mechazombies and last remaining cyborgs, Tobias being one of the last of his kind.
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: Unlike all other characters and enemies, PC doesn't grunt or flinch when attacked.
* MakingASplash: The Daisy are made of tungsten entirely, and they use their claws to attack any humanoid creature that isn't a Zomborg.
* MeaningfulName: The game’s title RUSTORATION is a portmanteau of rust and restoration, reflecting the game’s theme of decay and survival. The Zomborgs are also named after their characteristics: the Daisy are named after [[spoiler:the first infected victim]], the Speezy are named after their speed, and the Haemo are named after haemorrhages.
* MonstrousHumanoid: The Zomborgs are grotesque creatures that were once androids or cyborgs that have been infected by a virus.
* {{Nanomachines}}: [[spoiler:The Zomborg virus is actually a form of nanotech that infects living cells and turns them into metal. The virus can also mutate and create different types of Zomborgs depending on the environment or stimuli. The Haemos are also a result of genetic engineering using nanotech.]]
* OmnicidalManiac: Rare but if the Player [[spoiler:upgrades PC to its maximum abilities]], this will happen.
* OneManArmy: Regardless of the endings and how many times the [[spoiler:Player dies, PC never canonically dies]], even after killing all of the mechazombies by themselves.
* OnlyAFleshWound: No matter how low their health is, the PC continues to fight as if nothing has happened. [[spoiler: It is revealed that PC is actually manufactured specifically for combat, which justifies this trope]].
* OurZombiesAreDifferent: The Zomborgs are not your typical zombies, as they are partly mechanical and have different abilities depending on their type. They can also infect both humans and androids through biting. They are still mindless and hostile towards anything that is not infected though.
* RobotSoldier: Hinted that PC is a [[spoiler:robot model that is most common in robot soldiers]]. Seen even more so when [[spoiler:PC becomes a Military Sergeant after the Apocalypse]].
* RuleOfThree: There are three different types of enemies in the game, each with their own appearance and abilities.
* TheVirus: The Zomborgs first started with the Daisy Virus, which caused those infected to lose all sense of reason and become violent. Though later on the Daisy Virus mutated into the Mob Virus, which created the Speezy, the Daisy virus and the Mob virus now exist in cohesion. [[spoiler:The Haemo, though immune to both viruses, still carries them both and is able to transmit them. Due to this, Haemos cannot be naturally made, and there is only a limited amount of them in the world.]] The virus is contracted through contact with infected blood or saliva, [[spoiler:though the virus seems to be transmitted through some sort of nanotech in the infected's bodily fluids]]. The incubation period is anywhere from 2 minutes to 48 hours.
* RunningOnAllFours: The Daisy crawl instead of walking due to [[spoiler:having deteriorated muscles making it harder for them to walk. Therefore, they crawl to locomote more efficiently]].
* ShellShockedVeteran: Tobias is deeply traumatized by the loss of his family and the outbreak that destroyed his home town.
* TheEngineer: Tobias is a skilled tinkerer and uses his mechanical skills to help others survive.
* TomatoInTheMirror: The true ending reveals that [[spoiler:the player character was the one who killed Daisy and her family, the first victims of the virus outbreak.]]
* ToServeMan: The Zomborgs' main goal is to kill and infect humanoids, this is from an irrational urge caused by the virus, [[spoiler:Though the Virus itself seems intelligent and have a reason for its actions]].
* UnwillingRoboticization: The victims of the techno-organic "Zomborg" virus.
* WasOnceAMan: The zombies were once humans and androids before infection.
* WeCanRebuildHim: Sergeant is brought back online by Tobias months after being wrecked in battle.
* YouAllLookFamiliar: All of the Daisy Zomborgs are designed to look similar to each other because [[spoiler:they all originated from the same source, the original carrier of the virus, Daisy. This creates a sense of uniformity and shared ancestry among the Daisy, and reinforces the idea that they are all connected and share a common origin. Similarly, the Speezy all resemble the woman who mutated with the Daisy virus after crashing into it, further emphasizing their shared origin and connection to the Daisy]].
