Soulless DX (also dubbed "Soulles DX" by the team) is an upcoming VideoGame/FridayNightFunkin GameMod directed by Gray. Initially starting as a one-song mod aimed to contain the finished version of “Soulless”, a song planned for the canceled VideoGame/VsSonicExe staring the Tails Doll, it has expanded to also include refined versions of other songs from the unfinished build. Currently, there is a one-song demo of the mod, containing Sunky’s song, “Chocolate Milk”. There's also a folder containing all of the currently finished content for the mod that can be found on [=GitHub=] here.

The mod was briefly cancelled following an argument in the Discord server, but the very next day, the mod was brought back into production.

The mod itself will release alongside four DLC packages, two of which are complete public knowledge; the "Milk & Cereal" DLC, which focuses on the more DenserAndWackier side of the mod, with Sunky, Sanic and the like, and the "Goalpost" DLC, which is reared more towards the DarkerAndEdgier side of things, including various Sonic.EXE fanworks such as Requital and [=SL4SH=].

!Soulless DX provides examples of:
* AdaptationalSpeciesChange: Like the Encore Mode of Vs [=Sonic.EXE=] before it, Boyfriend is seen in his blue rabbit appearance for all the songs (aside from "Chocolate Milk", "Sunshine OG" and "Step") that he shows up in. This also applies to Pico taking on an orange hedgehog appearance for "Gamebreaker".
* TheCameo: Sonic and Tails can be seen in the background of "Bitchin'", observing the rap battle between Sonic.exe and the Tails Doll.
* CombatPragmatist: In “Soulless”, the Tails Doll will occasionally slash at Boyfriend, taking away a large chunk of health.
* DenserAndWackier: For what’s essentially a continuation of VideoGame/VsSonicExe, this leans a lot more into the comical angle of the mod.
** The demo, rather than featuring the infamous doll itself, focuses on Sunky.
** Sanic and “Too Fest”’s StylisticSuck factors have increased exponentially, with both him and Boyfriend being drawn much more poorly than before and being stuck in the late 2000s version of [=YouTube=].
** “Sillycore” remixes of Vs [=Sonic.Exe=] songs have been created for “Too Slow Encore” and “Malediction”, which replace the vocals with silly, as the name implies, cartoon sound effects.
** The "Milk & Cereal" DLC planned for the mod will have this trope in full effect, in contrast to its more DarkerAndEdgier counterpart.
* DependingOnTheArtist: Tails Doll has 3 different appearances, one for each of it's songs. In "Soulless", it's appearance is based off of it's cameo in Sonic Shorts Volume 2. In "Sunshine OG", it's rendered in 3D polygonal graphics, as a nod to its debut game VideoGame/SonicR, and in "Sunshine Encore" it takes on an unshaded 2D version of its appearance in "Sunshine OG".
* ForegoneVictory: Seems to be the case for "Too Slow Sillycore", as if the player misses enough times that their health drops to the lowest point, instead of Boyfriend getting blue-balled, the health bar just resets, meaning that they can't actually lose the song.
* InterfaceScrew:
** When the Tails Doll slashes at Boyfriend, the screen flashes red and gets covered in blood in a circular pattern, making it more difficult to see the left and right notes.
** Sillycore “Too Slow Encore” and “Too Fest” have green screen effects occasionally pop up, greatly increasing the difficulty of the songs due to the vastly decreased visibility.
* OriginalGeneration: DX is not amongst any of the cast from Vs [=Sonic.EXE=], but rather an original character made by Saster, who's also composed the character's song for the mod. This is to be moved to another mod in the future, but is still highlighted in VideoGame/FridayNightFunkinBreakerBundle.
* PromotedToPlayable:
** The Tails Doll is the player character for "Bitchin'".
** Before it was pulled from the mod, "Gamebreaker" would've had Pico taking on DX alone in comparison to his planned supporting role in the original mod. This will remain for wherever the song ends up in the future. He is set to face off against Requital like he was intended to back in VideoGame/VsSonicExe, though.
* Retraux:
** "Sunshine" uses a VHS filter to replicate the original style for TV back in 1995.
** "Prey Good Future" uses Genesis-accurate effects to bring the revamped song to life, such as fading, the title card and in/out movement for sprites, and even pausing the game replicates the classic limits.
* TakeThat: The alternate mix of the "Chocolate Milk" GameOver theme, while being a loving tribute to Franchise/MegaMan, was made as a potshot at the less-than-well-received content introduced in Capcom's 2023 presentation, which included an offline counterpart of VideoGame/MegaManXDive.
