* AscendedFanon:
** According to Po, Tigress did have a crush on Shifu growing up.
** According to Shifu, there is another level of kung fu mastery beyond the Dragon Warrior: the [[Myth/ChineseMythology Celestial Phoenix]]. [[spoiler:Subverted when it turns out the ImpossibleTask necessary to achieve this role is all a SecretTestOfCharacter. Whether it's a real role a kung fu master can assume after achieving the task for real is never revealed.]]
* EarlyBirdRelease: The episode ''Has-Been Hero'' was released as a bonus feature alongside ''WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda2'' 3 months before it aired.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Inevitable since this ''is'' a TV series for an AllStarCast film. Most of the replacement actors in this series would continue as stand-ins for the film cast in later projects. Ironically, Creator/JamesSie, who provides the voice of Monkey (taking Creator/JackieChan's place) voiced Chan himself in ''WesternAnimation/JackieChanAdventures''. [[spoiler:This is justified for Tai Lung's appearance where he's Andre Sogliuzzo as Tai Lung is really Po in disguise]].
** In the Latin American Dub, Po, Monkey and Shifu are the only characters from the films to receive a different dub voice actor; as their original dub actors were either unavailable due to not being professional dub voice actors (Monkey and Po, who's film voices were primarily comedians) or had passed away (Shifu, who's original dub voice died in 2011). Monkey and Shifu's replacement dub actors would then go on to reprise their characters in future installments.
* PlayingAgainstType: In a meta sort of way--in the [[EasternZodiac Chinese zodiac]], the pig is one of the humblest and kindest of animals, yet that is the species chosen for RoyalBrat Mei Li. Of course by the end of the episode [[DefrostingIceQueen she gets better]] and ends up [[SubvertedTrope playing true to type]] after all.
* RoleReprise:
** The film voice actors that reprised include:
*** Lucy Liu as Viper.
*** James Hong as Mr. Ping.
*** Randall Duk Kim as Oogway.
** Creator/MickWingert, Creator/FredTatasciore, and Creator/JamesSie reprise their respective roles as Po, Shifu, and Monkey from the first movie's tie-in game.
** The Latin American Dub has the majority of the cast reprise their roles save for Monkey, Po and Shifu. Notably, Creator/BlasGarcia reprises his role as Tai Lung for the series.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: This series along with ''WesternAnimation/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar'' and ''WesternAnimation/MonstersVsAliens2013'' were canceled after Nickelodeon executives decided to put more resources on original programming instead of licensed material. Since Creator/DreamWorksAnimation co-produced and owned the show's elements, Nickelodeon felt it was a strain in financial resources. The remaining episodes that didn't air on Nickelodeon were slowly doled out to Nicktoons, then with [=NBCUniversal=] acquiring [=DreamWorks=], Nicktoons did a quick run of the last five episodes every Wednesday in June 2016 before it left television for good. Since then, Dreamworks have taken their properties to Streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu, which has benifited them better (No having to deal with timeslots after all and much quicker production rates).
