* AcclaimedFlop: While the game was received well alongside ''VideoGame/Persona3DancingInMoonlight'' in Japan, both of them had the weakest sales in the entire series (they even disappeared from the charts [[https://gematsu.com/2018/06/media-create-sales-5-28-18-6-3-18 one week]] after [[https://gematsu.com/2018/05/media-create-sales-5-21-18-5-27-18 their debut]]), making them the worst-selling games in the franchise at the time of their release.[[note]]These figures do not include any digital sales, however.[[/note]]
* MemeAcknowledgment: Creator/{{Atlus}} USA referenced Goro Akechi's memetic love of pancakes (when he only mentions "delicious pancakes" once in ''VideoGame/Persona5'') by calling him "everyone's favorite pancake-loving detective" in the description of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKkM_s7aB38 the trailer for his pre-order bonus.]]
* PropRecycling:
** The opening movies from the [[Platform/PlayStationPortable PSP]] [[VideoGameRemake remakes of]] ''VideoGame/Persona1'' and the ''VideoGame/Persona2'' duology, ''VideoGame/Persona3'', ''Persona 3 FES'', ''Persona 3 Portable'', ''VideoGame/Persona4'', ''Persona 4 Golden'', ''VideoGame/Persona4Arena'', ''VideoGame/Persona4ArenaUltimax'', ''VideoGame/PersonaQShadowOfTheLabyrinth'', ''VideoGame/Persona4DancingAllNight'' and ''VideoGame/Persona5'' are all available as DownloadableContent, whilst the opening movie of this game is part of the base game.
** The movies that play behind the end credits from ''VideoGame/Persona3'' and ''VideoGame/PersonaQShadowOfTheLabyrinth'' are available as DownloadableContent, whilst the end credits to this game and ''VideoGame/Persona5'' are part of the base game.
** The original opening and closing credits of ''Anime/Persona5TheAnimation'' are available as DownloadableContent.
** Several of the songs are just directly lifted from ''VideoGame/Persona5'': "Beneath the Mask", "Blooming Villain", "Keeper of Lust", "Last Surprise", "Life Goes On", "Life Will Change", "Price", "Rivers In the Desert", "Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There", "Will Power" and "Yaldaboath ~ Our Beginning".
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: In Japan and the United States, several DownloadableContent costumes and songs are free to download, and are all sold individually. In Europe, all of the DLC was packaged together into various packs, with the only exceptions being the additional characters.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** One of the scrapped designs for Yusuke's crossdressing outfit was [[https://personacentral.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/P5D-Cross-Dressign-Concept-Art.jpg an oiran outfit,]] rejected for being unfeasible technically. Considering what an [[HighClassCallGirl oiran]] is... it's probably best this way.
