* BadExportForYou: The Der Film OVA was not included in the Der Film releases outside Japan.
* TheCastShowoff: Nonna's and Clara's seiyuus are fluent in Russian and don't hold back in their Russian lines in the movie and audio dramas. A Bonus in Clara's case since her seiyuu ''is'' Russian.
** The (English) voice actor for Clara also speaks fluent Russian.
* InkSuitActor: Klara's character design is nearly similar to that of her seiyuu Yevgeniya "Jenya" Davidyuk. [[https://www.reddit.com/r/GIRLSundPANZER/comments/8n19nd/klaras_seiyuu_cosplaying_as_klara/ Here's Proof.]]
* PromotedFanboy: Nicholas Moran, more popularly known as "The Chieftain" in ''VideoGame/WorldOfTanks'' circles, worked on the movie as one of the film's five military advisors from Wargaming. Beforehand, he has on record referred to himself as "the resident expert on Girls und Panzer", and has referenced the show in a couple of his ''Chieftain's Hatch'' videos. Most notably in his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxF6penza6w "Jagdpanzer 38(t)" video]] at [[https://youtu.be/TxF6penza6w?t=2m47s 2min47sec]].
* RecycledScript: The movie's plot is the same overall plot of the series; [[spoiler:Ōarai is going to get closed down and they have to win a match to save it ]]. Everything about it is scaled up to eleven and played out like YourPrincessIsInAnotherCastle. It would not be difficult to break the movie into another four or so episodes and add them to first season.
* SleeperHit: In spite of its limited release in Japan, [[https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-08-14/girls-and-panzer-film-tops-2.5-billion-yen-at-box-office/.120102 the movie's current gross is over 2.5 billion yen with over 1.4 million tickets sold at the Japan Box Office as of August 13, 2017]]. It was in theaters right up to the day the Blu-Ray was released (May 27, 2016). The movie surpassed ''[[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagicaTheMovieRebellion Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion]]'' in the box office and is currently ranked 3rd highest grossing late-night TV anime based movie, just behind ''[[Anime/LoveLive Love Live! The School Idol Movie]]'' and ''Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale''.
* TheOtherDarrin: Chelsea [=McMurdy=] took over voicing Shiho Nishizumi from Genevieve Simmons in the movie.
** Patricia Duran took over voicing Momo Kawashima from Kendall [=McClellan=].
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Apparently one of the initial plan for the plot was to have Miho go back to Kuromorimine and face off against the very school she led to victory in the TV series.
