* BadExportForYou: Like all of the animated films picked by Creator/TheWeinsteinCompany, the film was re-edited and re-dubbed when it was distributed in North America by them.
* BreakawayPopHit: The film didn't do very well at the American box office, but Music/CarlyRaeJepsen's soundtrack song "Cut to the Feeling", while not charting very high, was one of the most critically acclaimed singles of 2017.
* ChannelHop: Creator/TheWeinsteinCompany was the original distributor in North America, but following the Weinstein scandal, the film's DVD and Blu-ray release was handled outright by Creator/{{Lionsgate}}, which normally merely distributed Weinstein's home media releases.
* CreatorKiller: It was among the films that, along with the Weinstein scandal, signaled the end of Creator/TheWeinsteinCompany, and was the only film released under its Mizchief label. A re-edited English dub of Little Door Gods was supposed to be next.
* DawsonCasting: Félicie, Victor, and Camille are 11-year-olds voiced by people older than them, especially Victor.
* IronyAsSheIsCast: Maddie Ziegler was known for showing a lot of passion in her dancing when she was on ''Series/DanceMoms''. Camille? Not so much.
* MarketBasedTitle: In the United States, the film is titled ''Leap!''
* TheOtherDarrin: Dane [=DeHaan=], Julie Khaner, Brownen Mantel, and an uncredited Jamie Watson were all, respectively, replaced by Nat Wolff, Creator/KateMcKinnon (for both of the median characters), and both Creator/MelBrooks and Creator/TerrenceScammell for the American version. The original voices can be heard on the German 3D Blu-ray release of the film (which, incidentally, uses English-language credits and displays the original title at the end).
* PlayingAgainstType: Creator/KateMcKinnon, who's best known for roles as fun-loving and kind characters, plays the [[AbusiveParents abusive]] StageMom Régine Le Haut. Ironically, she's playing well within the latter type for the one character she does voice in both the American and international English versions: Félicie's MissingMom.
* ReleaseDateChange: It was initially scheduled to be released in the US on March 3, before being pushed back to April, and later August.
