1* InvisibleAdvertising: Even in comparison to other Nintendo [=EPD4=] titles, many of which are {{casual game}}s announced outside of their more core-focused WebVideo/NintendoDirect webcasts (e.g. ''VideoGame/RingFitAdventure'', ''VideoGame/BigBrainAcademy'', ''VideoGame/GameBuilderGarage''), ''Everybody 1-2-Switch!'' was this. The initial announcement saw no trailer, only a quiet mention on Twitter and none of their other social media accounts, while its page on the Nintendo eShop had no in-game screenshots and little information outside the pricing. Though the game would get a "First Look" trailer a week before launch, said trailer was uploaded the day before a Nintendo Direct, ensuring that it would be buried by [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBrosWonder all]] [[VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG the]] [[VideoGame/Pikmin4 following]] [[VideoGame/PokemonScarletAndViolet day's]] [[VideoGame/DetectivePikachuReturns announcements]].
2* PlayingAgainstType: The woman on the upper-right of the ''1-2-Switch!'' cover? Creator/GreyDeLisle, a well-known voice actress. (She's [[https://twitter.com/GreyDeLisle/status/838869364778528768 also noted]] they photoshopped her nose to be bigger, rather than smaller.)
3* TheShelfOfMovieLanguishment: ''Everybody 1-2 Switch''. Test audience reactions were [[https://www.fanbyte.com/games/news/the-wild-story-behind-nintendos-unannounced-1-2-switch-sequel/ reportedly so overwhelmingly negative]] towards the game that it made Nintendo apprehensive about actually releasing it, though they would eventually end up doing so the two years later, albeit with very little fanfare at half the price of its intended MSRP.
