Here are the shout-outs made by the multiple seasons of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

* "May the Power protect you" seems to be at least partially inspired by the phrase "May The Force be with you."
* The multicolored Teleportation teleportation beams of the Power Rangers seem partially or wholly inspired by the transporters of Franchise/StarTrek fame that can "beam you up" from the ship to the planet and back.
* The Yellow Ranger being a girl and the presence of Alpha-5 are remnants of the original concept of the show when it was still based on Series/ChoudenshiBioman (with their female "Yellow Four" and their gold-armored robot alien caretaker "Peebo").
* Zordon being a disembodied gigantic head trapped inside a time warp was Saban's way of leaning hard on the Oz-like themes of Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger, with Zordon serving as the Wizard of Oz to Rita Repulsa's WickedWitch of the West.
* One episode involved a MonsterOfTheWeek named Shellshock who was a turtle-creature. When he grew to giant size, he exclaimed, "Just wait until those teenage mutants find out what a full-grown turtle can do!" The reference couldn't have been more obvious.
* In "A Chimp In Charge," as Finster attempts to transform a chimpanzee into the Sinister Simian, he asks "Don't you want to be a big gorilla-like King... what's his name?"
* In "Rangers in Reverse," the natural rotation of the Earth is stopped and then put in reverse, causing time itself to rewind. Where does this sound familiar?
* "Trick or Treat": Skull (dressed in a prisoner costume) has "24601" written on his chest.
* The series-original character with no Franchise/SuperSentai counterpart, Lord Zedd, looks like a Franchise/MortalKombat character mixed with a Manga/Guyver. According to costume designer Danielle Baker, "Lord Zedd was designed by a comic book illustrator who would come in and conceptualize everything for us."
* As Rita Repulsa is being shrunk down by Zedd in "The Mutiny Part I," she exclaims "I'm shrinking! What a planet!" This is an obvious reference to the Wicked Witch of the West's final words in Film/TheWizardOfOz, which was the largest inspiration for Rita when the show began.
** Aside from Rita, the voice and dialogue of the third-season monster Witchblade are shout-outs to the film version of the Wicked Witch of the West. Witchblade's dying words are "I'm falling, falling - what a world!"
* In "The Wedding," Finster is trying to return Rita to normal size with a machine of his. He eventually says "I've never turned it up to eleven before." This increased setting successfully restores Rita to her proper size.
* Goldar shares his name with the North American localization of Series/AmbassadorMagma, one of the earliest TV Toku heroes ever.
* In one scene in Season 3, the Rangers (in their Ninja Ranger outfits rather than their Ranger suits) decide to go all Franchise/SuperSentai, doing a team roll call followed up with a team pose - specifically, the signature pose of Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive!
* Another one had them doing one of the poses from Series/KousokuSentaiTurboranger, which had a very similar setup to this show (in terms of "teenagers with attitude" and all).
