The [[http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/forums/758-Mass-Effect-Foren-Rollenspiel Mass Effect Forum Rpg]] is a [[PlayByPostGames Play-By-Post Game]] located on the german network [[http://www.worldofplayers.de/ World of Players]], where it is part of the Franchise/MassEffect subforum. It was started in early 2010, in light of the hype for VideoGame/MassEffect2 and has had many lows and heights since then, often through internal conflicts, motivation lacks or other issues. All in all though, it has always pulled itself up again and is still running relatively active today.

It also has an own [[http://de.merpg.wikia.com/wiki/Mass_Effect_Universe:_Foren-RPG_Wiki Wiki]].
----
!!This RP provides examples of:
* AffablyEvil: Gil Ascaiath deserves a special mention here.
* AndTheAdventureContinues: Almost any plot/arc ends this way, due to the nature of the RPG.
* AntiHero: The RPG is full of it, special mention goes to Carten Bliss.
* BettyAndVeronica: The relationship between Terissa, Dante and Shell is pretty much set up to this.
* CharacterAlignment: Used to simplify things. Not to be taken literally though.
* ClonesArePeopleToo: Shell.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Sayuri/Henrietta, with shades of {{Manic Pixie Dream Girl}} towards Samuel (even though they are not engaged yet).
* ContinuitySnarl: Because of some plots moving much slower than others, {{Time Skip}}s, {{Retcon}}s and very unspecific dates, it's sometimes better to just enjoy the stories instead of overthinking them.
* CrapsackWorld: In most storylines, the universe is overall depicted as a hell of a bad place to live in.
* DeadpanSnarker: Too many too count. It's pretty much a WorldOfSnark.
* DeathSeeker: Carten (later successful). Deep down, he always wanted to be reunited with his father, although he wanted to die while accomplishing good, not just kill himself.
* DoomMagnet: Beyo and Luceija are walking, talking Doom Magnets.
* DualWielding: Ranus 'Rush' Vallgorian is notably the only character ever to wield two pistols at once.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The writing in the early days of the RPG was....special, to put it mildly, with players taking control of other characters during their posts, characters meeting important figures from the games and different behaviours of some characters, due to later {{Retcon}}s and CharacterizationMarchesOn.
* EldritchAbomination: The monster that attacks Shell, Terissa and Dante.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: The Ascaiath Family genuinely cares for one another.
* EvilBrit: The Ascaiath-Family is (literally, due to being partially english and italian) a mixture of this and {{The Mafia}}.
* {{Expy}}: The Cryptogram-Killer is explicitly modelled after Prometheus from ''Series/{{Arrow}}''.
* EyeScream: Kureck kills Sergio Vittore by ramming a syringe through his eye into his brain. Ew.
* FanArt: Special mention goes to Black Shial, who has drawn several character-pictures (including the above) of which all are universally praised.
* FishOutOfTemporalWater / HumanPopsicle: Richard Johnson, a marine who was in a cryonetic stasis for 137 years.
* FreudianExcuse: Every ''evil'' PC tends to have these, in order to make them relatable. The NPC's though, not always.
* GeniusBruiser: Several. Carten, Donal or Malkizan, just to name a few.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: [[http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/merpg/images/7/7c/KarvasRarkin.png/revision/latest?cb=20120719010530&path-prefix=de Karvas']] scars make him look like your standard generic villain, but is actually a pretty decent guy.
* {{Gorn}}: Averted, mostly. If it happens, it's usually well placed.
* GreaterScopeVillain: Tiraz Malkizan. Despite dying during the very early days of the RPG, his influence still lingers to this day. He ruined the lives of several characters and his actions are also responsible for the creation of the Cryptogram-Killer. There were also numerous flashbacks to the past involving him years after his death.
* TheHeart: Abuyin is this arguably for the whole RPG.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Almost no character can be really classified as good or evil.
* HeelRealization: Beyo has a big one after his HUGE screw-up on Zora's and Gil's wedding.
* HeroicSacrifice: Carten pulls one to defeat Vourn.
* ImAHumanitarian: Malkizan, among many other fucked up things, has a taste for sentient flesh.
* {{Jerkass}}: Pretty common in all variations.
* KnightTemplar: More or less everyone aligned to Cerberus, true to the source material.
** Beyo at his worst also tended to fall to this, most notably when he went on a killing spree in London.
** The Disciples of Truth are this in spades, special mention goes to the brutal conditioning of the [[SlaveMooks Lower Ones]].
** Terissa has shades of this, both as a Justicar and a Disciple.
* ManipulativeBastard:
** Tiraz Malkizan, full stop. He manipulated Beyo and Javed for ''years'' to become {{Corrupt Cops}}, to serve the ''greater good''. In reality, it was just for his own personal power.
* NeverMyFault: Beyo's greatest flaw pre {{Heel Realization}}.
* OfficialCouple: Beyo and Luceija, until Beyo broke up with her. Now, Leif and Luceija.
* OlderThanTheyLook: True to the canon, as Humans tend to get much older in the Mass Effect Universe.
* OverlyLongName: Dr. Abuyin ibn Djadir ibn Omar Kalid ben Hadji al Sharidi. Try say that out loud. Named after a NPC in the german RPG ''VideoGame/{{Gothic}}'' .
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Vourn becomes one by tapping into the biotic energy of his slaves. Carten becomes one shortly before killing him and then dying himself.
* PluckyComicRelief: Depending on the mood of the story, any character can fall into this, special mention go to Abuyin and Donal.
* RememberTheNewGuy: Often, see {{Retcon}} below.
* SciFiWritersHaveNoSenseOfScale: Again, true to the source material. Interstellar Travel is almost always mentioned to take ''some'' time, concrete time specifications are avoided like a plague.
* SerialKiller: The Cryptogram-Killer, a deranged individual out for vengeance on Beyo for his actions in the past, who has no problems with murdering dozens of innocent people and [[FrameUp blame it on Beyo]] just to get payback.
* ShockwaveClap: Khel Goran pulled of a krogan-biotic version of this.
* SmugSnake: Both Vourn and Malkizan were so overconfident that it led to their downfall.
* TakingTheBullet: Javed takes a fatal shot by Carten meant for Beyo.
* TrueCompanions:
** Donal and Gil
** Abuyin and Leif
** Vherril and Kureck
* {{Tsundere}}: Luceija and Nai.
* UglyGuyHotWife: Well, how ''hot' Turians in general are is up to personal taste, [[http://www.bilder-upload.eu/upload/8c6e70-1426526256.png but Savanna looks rather gorgeous next to the heavily scarred and partially synthetic Karvas.]]
* UndyingLoyalty: Donal to Gil.
* VillainProtagonist: The Cerberus fraction in general.
