* AmbiguousSituation: Marco confronts Mr. Candle about whether he's the same person as Sir Crandle, and Candle slips into using the words "Lifelong Post" after denying he is. Either there is someone identical to him, or maybe he has something like Dissociate Identity Disorder, or maybe he's simply moonlighting jobs between dimensions.
* AudienceSurrogate: [=StarFan13=] continues this role, even being the only non-main character to see the whole plot from beginning to end.
* BlazingInfernoHellfireSauce: Marco could not get over the fact that Jackie and Chloé could handle consuming tacos with Echo Creek's "White Hot Pain Peppers", which are so spicy that they were banned in ''sixteen states''.
* BottleEpisode: A majority of the episode is simply a reunion that takes place around the titular Britta's Tacos.
* BrickJoke: Star guesses that the prize for eating two hundred tacos is a T-shirt, which Marco thinks is too mundane a prize. At the end, it turns out it was a shirt, although it was stolen long ago.
* BurgerFool: Sensei Brantley and Oskar are now working at the taco stand.
* TheBusCameBack: Since Marco returned to Earth, we finally meet again multiple Earth character who weren't seen since [[Recap/StarVsTheForcesOfEvilS3E13SophomoreSlump Sophomore Slump]].
* CaptainObvious: Star asks what Oskar's done since she last saw him and he proudly informs he got a job at Britta's Tacos -- while standing behind the counter in uniform.
* CassandraTruth: Brantley actively refuses to believe [[IsThatCuteKidYours Mariposa isn't Marco's daughter]], and assumes her being his sister is just [[FamilyRelationshipSwitcheroo a cover story]].
* ClosetKey: While Marco was in Mewni, Jackie spent a year in France and met a girl named Chloé. It's heavily implied this made Jackie realize she was also attracted to girls and they're dating.
* ContinuityCavalcade: Pretty much every human character from the show comes to Britta's to talk to Marco and Star.
* EntertaininglyWrong: Sensei and Ferguson both imply that Marco went to live with Star on Mewni because he'd gotten her pregnant. The timing of their absence works out for this (Star's been gone for a year, Marco visited her for a month or so and came back to Earth, then went back to live with her 9 months ago after suddenly breaking up with Jackie) and baby Mariposa's family resemblance to Marco is obvious, but this couldn't be further from what actually happened.
* ExtremeDoormat: Because Star chooses to be a LazyBum the whole day, she just lets Starfan do whatever she wants with her, including manipulating Star's hands to cast magic.
* FreudianSlip: Mr. Candle's insistence that he's not Sir Crandle is further undermined when he accidentally says his job is help children choose their "[[Recap/StarVsTheForcesOfEvilS4E18TheKnightShift post]]".
* GradeSkipper: Played with; Marco got his GED at fifteen because he'd been out of school in Mewni, but he is OlderThanTheyLook at this point.
* InternalReveal: Jackie by now has figured out that there is something going on between Marco and Star.
* IsThatCuteKidYours: Practically ''everybody'' seems to think that little Mariposa is Marco and Star's daughter. It doesn't help that almost no one had seen Star for a year.
-->'''Cloudy:''' Special delivery from Star!\
''[Cloudy brings Mariposa to Marco]''\
'''Ferguson:''' Cool, Star and Marco had a baby!
* ItsTheJourneyThatCounts: Marco realizes hanging around looking for loyalty punches was worth it just to catch up with everyone in Echo Creek.
* JerkassRealization: Marco realizes he shouldn't have spent his time as Jackie's boyfriend unknowingly pining after Star. [[AmicableExes Jackie, for her part, doesn't hold it against him.]]
* LazyBum: After Marco tells Star "summers are all about relaxing and doing nothing", [[ALessonLearnedTooWell she doesn't even bother walking]], getting Cloudy to carry her everywhere, spending a majority of the episode loafing around.
* MasochistsMeal: By the end of the day, Marco has bought so many tacos the stand has actually run out of ingredients -- except for some Echo Creek "White-Hot Pain Peppers".
-->'''Marco:''' Haven't those been outlawed in, like, sixteen states?\
'''Sensei Brantley:''' What am I, a cop? EMBRACE THE PAIN!
* NonGivingUpSchoolGuy: Parodied; Star assumes Principal Skeeves and Mr. Candle will be after her for "missing class" for a year, even though she's no longer a student and it's summer.
* PersonaNonGrata: Apparently, Janna is banned from Britta's Tacos for life. [[NoodleIncident No-one knows why]], but she tried to use a PaperThinDisguise numerous times to get in.
* RunningGag: People thinking that Mariposa is Marco's daughter and not his sister.
* ShaggyDogStory: After having his two hundred tacos card punched, Marco and Star find out that the prize was just a T-shirt, which had been stolen some time ago. Marco, however, finds the journey more rewarding.
* ShipperOnDeck: Jackie for Star and Marco.
-->'''Jackie:''' Now she's a special girl, Marco. Make sure you don't mess that one up.
