* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: When HUE investigates the damage caused by Gary crashing the Galaxy One, he finds that the deflector array, the power cells, and the bake shop are offline. Gary is bewildered to find out that the ship even had a bake shop.
* BigHeadMode: Avocato ends up with a disproportionally large head when it’s the first part of his body to grow back to normal size, but the rest of his body stays tiny. Gary has quite a laugh about it.
* BrokenPedestal: The Infinity Guard for Quinn when she learns Gary was right, and they are corrupt.
* TheCuckoolanderWasRight: Based on what Quinn told him, Gary concludes the Infinity Guard are corrupt. Quinn brushes it off, but ultimately, it turns out Gary is right.
* DistressSignal: Continuing from the previous episode, Little Cato spends this episode finding a transmitting station to amplify the signal for the message he needs to send out to Avocato.
* EarthShatteringKaboom: Fortunately not with Earth; when the laser is about to fire again and they can’t shut it off, Gary orders Mooncake to shoot the laser with his own energy beam. As such, the laser is directed away from the breach and onto the planet’s moon, causing it to shatter and rain debris on the Infinity Guard outpost.
* EnemyMine: Through the electronic device he received 2 episodes ago, Little Cato is contacted by a hologram of a woman who offers to help him since they share the same enemy. [[spoiler: Sadly, it turns out it’s actually the Lord Commander in disguise, guiding Little Cato into setting up a trap for his father]].
* ExactEavesdropping: Gary, Quinn and Avocato find the Infinity Guard outpost just in time to see the Infinity Guard fire another laser into the breach, and hail the Lord Commander as their leader, who tells them the breach is a gate to Final Space.
* FungusHumongous: Giant, glowing mushroom like plants are abundant on the planet the protagonists investigate this episode.
* GiantSpider: The protagonists encounter one on the alien planet. It helps them get rid of the swarm of carnivorous butterflies following them.
* GreenAesop: A subtle one but the episode reveals that the Infinity Guard was taking advantage of the bioluminescent wildlife on the planet they were on in order to charge up the laser that caused the breach and made it larger: this goes to show how The Infinity Guard had a huge disregard for wildlife and the planet’s ecosystem that n order to fuel their own corrupt desires.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: A SAME is cut in half when KVN’s antics cause a door to slam shut on top of him.
* IWorkAlone: Quinn adopts this mentality after she sees the Infinity Guard is corrupt, and she still doesn’t trust Gary or Avocato. She gets over it by the episodes end.
* IncredibleShrinkingMan: Avocato ends up shrinking after being bitten by an alien butterfly. He spends a good part of the episode being barely tall enough to reach up to Gary’s foot.
* InsigniaRipOffRitual: After destroying the laser and escaping the planet, Quinn can be seen removing the Infinity Guard insignia from her uniform.
* InvisibilityCloak: The Infinity Guard outpost on the planet is protected by a cloaking device. The heroes only find it when accidently walking through the cloak.
* ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy:
** Played laughably straight with most Infinity Guard soldiers, who can’t even hit the protagonists from up close. Averted with commander Stone, who easily disarms Avocato, Quinn and Gary with a few well aimed shots.
** The guards at the Lord Commander's prison also suffer from this, failing to hit Little Cato even when he stands still to talk to his ally [[spoiler:but that might have been intentional considering Little Cato's escape was all part of the Lord Commanders plan]].
* ImprovisedZipline: When the elevator is destroyed while they are only halfway between the base and the planet’s surface, Gary uses his robot arm to let himself and Quinn glide down the elevator cable. Unfortunately for Gary, the hand is capable of feeling pain and he screams in agony the entire way. Also ,the cable doesn’t extend all the way to the surface, so the two end up plummeting to the ground once they reach the end of the cable. Good thing the Galaxy One showed up in time to catch them.
* IsThisThingStillOn: The Lord Commander has some trouble shutting off the communication device after talking to the Infintiy Guard, and asks a guy named Eric for help.
* LaserHallway: With glowing, electrical tubes instead of actual lasers, but otherwise it’s this trope. Quinn and Gary have to navigate it when infiltrating the facility where the giant laser is fired from.
* MagicPants: When the butterfly bites him and causes him to shrink, somehow Avocato’s clothes and two of his guns shrink with him. The other guns do not however and he loses them.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Stone reveals that the laser they are using to breach into Final Space was build based on scribblings Quinn left on a napkin. They could never have come this far without them. The revelation temporarily causes Quinn to suffer a HeroicBlueScreenOfDeath.
* ThePhilosopher: Avocato becomes one after being shrunk, to make up for his lack of size.
* PreviouslyOn: The episode starts with one
* ShamingTheMob: Quinn tries this with the corrupt Infinity Guard soldiers, pointing out how they are about to destroy their own home planet and how the universe views them as heroes. For a moment, it seems to work (some even bow their heads in shame), but they ultimately reject her pleas.
* SoMuchForStealth: None of the protagonists manage to stay quiet while navigating the electric maze in the Infinity Guard base, since they keep bumping into the electrical tubes and getting shocked.
* TemptingFate:
** In the cold opening, just as Gary claims he lived a good life, a piece of debris tears a hole in his spacesuit, speeding up the oxygen loss. Gary immediately laments that his life sucks.
** When leaving KVN in charge of fixing the crashed Galayx One, Gary warns him not to touch any of the crew’s personal stuff, play with the flamethrowers, or push any buttons. Of course, no sooner is everyone gone, of we see a montage of KVN doing all those things.
* WalkingArmory: Avocato equips himself with every gun available on the Galaxy One when he and Quinn set out to investigate the plasma ray. He loses them all however when he shrinks due to the butterfly bite.
* WeCanRuleTogether: Stone offers Quinn to join the rest of the Infinity Guard again and pledge allegiance to the Lord Commander. She refuses.
* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: When HUE is analyzing the breach, KNV curiously touches the hologram, wondering what it is. This turns out to be a good thing since he just pointed out to HUE that plasma is being fired into the breach from a planet.
* WomanScorned: Quinn keeps rejecting Gary, telling him it will never work out between them. When he finally accepts and breaks up with her however, she is insulted.
* WontTakeYesForAnAnswer: Gary keeps dramatically begging Quinn not to accept Stone’s offer and join the corrupt Infinity Guard, even after she already told him she’s not going to do so.
