----

* AllForNothing: Team Flash's attempts to save Carver from Eva fail when she goes to Carver's secret passage and kills him.
* AmbiguousSituation: Barry is seriously tempted to let Eva kill Carver, and Nash takes over before we find out what he actually would have done. Even then, Nash and Harry are not happy that Barry would even discuss the possibility of the deal.
* ArbitrarySkepticism: Sue doesn't seem very convinced when Ralph tells her about the Mirrorverse.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: Before Team Flash goes to [=McCulloch=] Technologies, Nash asks Barry whether Iris would want to be saved if it came at the cost of someone's life. Barry can't answer and simply wears his jacket before going.
* AssholeVictim: Nobody's gonna miss Carver. Barry however still tries to save him.
* BackForTheDead: Mirror Singh lets himself be sacrificed to hide Eva, while Carver is successfully killed by Eva.
* TheBadGuyWins: Eva gets to murder her husband, takes over [=McCulloch=] Technologies and frames Sue for said murder.
* BaitAndSwitch:
** Seeing Eva pull Esperanza Garcia, Kimiyo Hoshi, and Millie Rawlins into the Mirrorverse suggested they were going to be captive as well and that their Reflections would confront Carver and Team Flash. Turns out Eva gave them the choice to turn on their boss in exchange of being free of him.
** When Barry runs into Mirror Singh in [=McCulloch=] Tech during the climax, it looked like the latter was about to transform like Mirror Iris did during her fight with Barry. Instead, Mirror Singh shatters himself to reveal Eva underneath.
* BlatantLies: Sue shows up with her parents at Ralph's office to act like she's just been on vacation and she and Ralph never met before. He plays along so they don't know about their daughter's secret life as a thief.
* BookEnds: The episode starts and finishes with Team Flash making plans in Barry's forensic lab in the CCPD. At the beginning, they are trying to understand Eva's plan, while at the end they are trying to plan how to stop her and find the people prisoner in the Mirrorverse.
* BothSidesHaveAPoint: Barry is right in that Eva is coming after Carver, while Carver is right in that the Mirrorverse damages someone's mental status.
* TheBusCameBack:
** Some Recurring Characters throughout the season return: Esperanza Garcia, Sue Dearbon, Kimiyo Hoshi, Millie Rawlins, and Mirror Singh.
** Harry Wells has a minor appearance.
** Carla Tannhauser comes back to help treat Frost.
** Joe comes back from Witness Protection after Carver's death.
* ChekhovsGun:
** The diamond Sue gave Ralph is a map, that when overlayed with a map of Central City, leads to the warehouse where Carver stores his secrets.
** Nash gives Allegra an Eternium rock that she can use her light with as a weapon. It saves her life in a confrontation with Esperanza.
* Cliffhanger: Iris vanishes before the episode ends.
* ContinuityNod:
** In order to begin her treatment, it looks like Frost is going to be taken to the same Tannhauser blacksite where her late father used to hide.
** Carver used nanites from Palmer Tech as countermeasures against Eva.
* DealWithTheDevil: Mirror Singh tries to barter with Barry for Iris's freedom in exchange for Carver. Nash intervenes before Barry could actually make a choice.
* DefiantToTheEnd: Carver spends his last moments disowning his wife.
* DirtyCoward: Carver, for all his SmugSnake attire, is quick to run to Team Flash for protection when his own bodyguards fail to protect him.
* TheDogBitesBack: Dr. Light, Ultraviolet, and Sunshine happily turn on Carver when given the chance by Eva.
* DownerEnding: This SeasonFinale is quite bleak. Barry's speed is still running out, TheBadGuyWins indefinitely, Sue now has to go on the lam because of a FrameUp, the prisoners in the Mirrorverse are still trapped and are nowhere near figuring out how to escape, and to top it all off, something happens to Iris while inside the Mirrorverse. Thank goodness for that RayOfHopeEnding.
* EldritchLocation: Carver tells Barry that the Mirrorverse is incompatible with the human mind, that it will warp everybody inside of it until that person is no longer recognizable.
* EnemyMine: Team Flash has to reluctantly team up with Black Hole to protect Carver from Eva. Surprisingly, the one reluctant to the alliance is Carver himself, but when his meta bodyguards vanish, he has to accept their help.
* EurekaMoment: When Barry mentions that he would not want to lose his job, he remembers Eva stating that she had unfinished business.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Eva is disgusted at Carver turning her technology into weapons and forcing innocent metahumans into his service.
* FatalFlaw: Carver can't quite seem to grasp that other people aren't as driven by money as he is, best shown when he assumes that Eva is paying his assassins into turning on him, rather than them working with her voluntarily for revenge on him.
* FrameUp: Sue thinks everything is over for her until Ralph reveals Eva set her up as Carver's murderer.
* FriendOrIdolDecision: Mirror Singh tempts Barry into surrendering Carver by sending Iris back. Nash vetoes that deal by sending the team to S.T.A.R. Labs since Iris would not accept Barry selfishly trading another life to get her back.
* FriendshipMoment: Allegra and Nash finally seem on their way to patching up at the end.
* GetOut: After killing Carver and retaking control of [=McCulloch=] Technologies, Eva tells Barry and his partners to go since they are trespassing on her property.
* HazyFeelTurn: Carver's assassins change allegiance to Eva.
* HopeSpot:
** Carver thinks he is safe from Eva by going into a secret part of the [=McCulloch=] Technologies facility, but Eva is very much aware of that area and Carver's former minions sabotage the security.
** Sue thinks that Carver's leverage against her parents being burnt means the case is over, but Eva framed her of Carver's murder.
* HumanPincushion: Barry TakingTheBullet for Carver, taking the brunt of all the mirror shards aimed at the latter. Things get worse for Barry when Eva telekinetically pushes one shard through his body to kill Carver.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: How Carver tries to justify his actions towards his wife. Eva is understandibly not impressed.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Doubly so: Eva pushes a mirror shard already embedded in Barry through his body to kill Carver.
* InternalReveal: Carver learns about the Reflections.
* IronicEcho: Allegra's initial "I hate coffee" has a different meaning from Nash's version. The former is rejecting his assistance, while the latter is saying that to say that he doesn't mind Allegra taking the coffee. It indicates that Nash and Allegra are reconciling.
* Irony:
** Carver has a secret panic room behind the mirror in Eva's old office. In the Mirrorverse, Eva had a secret room in the very same place.
** Sue gets framed for the murder of the man she really did want to kill.
* MakingTheChoiceForYou: When Mirror Singh is dealing with Barry to make him give Carver in exchange for Iris, Nash pushes Mirror Singh and teleports Team Flash and Carver to S.T.A.R. Labs to prevent Barry from surrendering Carver.
* MindRape: A heroic version when Allegra used the special stone Nash gave to her against Ultraviolet, making the latter relive her worst memory. To be fair to Allegra, she doesn't know what the stone actually does until Nash told her afterward.
* PetTheDog: Eva, once again, lets Team Flash go after achieving her goals.
* PutOnABus: Caitlin leaves with Carla for her medical tests.
* RayOfHopeEnding: While Eva's success was assured and she framed Sue for Carver's death, the team plans to clear her name and rescue the Mirrorverse prisoners. Joe's detective skills will be put to good use as he returns from witness protection, while there is a huge clue on Singh's whereabouts.
* RealLifeWritesThePlot:
** The massive industry problems that came with the UsefulNotes/CoronavirusDisease2019Pandemic forced the show's crew to hastily reconfigure this episode into a SeasonFinale, with Grant Gustin (Barry Allen) warning that it may not have the same level of closure as previous finales.
** This also caused an odd subversion, as the reason for Caitlin being PutOnABus is that Danielle Panabaker was pregnant (also why she spent the last few episodes on the couch under a blanket). But the season ending here means it wasn't actually necessary, and she'll be able to come back when the next season starts.
* TheReveal:
** Much to Barry's anger, Carver had footage of Iris being pulled into the Mirrorverse for weeks. Because Iris was investigating him, he naturally did nothing as her disappearance worked in his favor.
** It turns out all three of Carver's light-based assassins were TrappedInVillainy, which is why the promise of being freed from him with his death is why they side with Eva. Sue Dearbon being forced to join and deliberately attempting to kill him proves it further.
* SanitySlippage: Iris seems to be adapting to the Mirrorverse a little too well.
* SaveTheVillain: Team Flash tries to protect Carver from Eva throughout the episode, but ultimately fail.
* SheCleansUpNicely: Eva sets herself up with a stylish suit which happens to stabilize her in the real world. Along with this comes a cleaner, tied hairstyle.
* ShoutOut:
** Ralph refers to the light-based assassins as Carver's Angels.
** Eva emerges from the monitor in Carver's panic room in a similar manner to Samara/Sadako in Literature/TheRing.
* SilenceYouFool: When Carver tries to bribe Nash to get his teleporting machines, Allegra and specially Ralph tell him to make silence while they try to save his life.
* SmugSnake: Carver throughout the episode acts extremely self-confident, especially during his dialogue with Barry, where he has fun rubbing his superiority in his face. Fittingly, the episode ends with his death.
* TakingTheBullet: Barry shields Carver from the mirror shards to protect him from Eva, much to her dismay. She still manages to stab Carver after that.
* TilMurderDoUsPart: Eva kills her husband Carver to get her revenge.
* ToBeContinued: After Iris vanishes, a "To be continued" big screen appears to close the episode.
* UndyingLoyalty: Despite Barry's numerous appeals to his heart, Mirror-Singh remains staunchly loyal to Eva, even being willing to sacrifice himself.
* UnreliableExpositor: Eva claims that Carver abandoned her as soon as she was trapped in the Mirrorverse, while he claims that he tried for years to get her out before writing her off as a lost cause.
* VigilanteExecution: Despite Barry's pleas, Eva successfully kills Carver.
* VillainTakesAnInterest: Carver towards Nash's smoke bomb-teleporter, even offering Nash to name his price.
* WhamLine: Ralph telling Sue "Eva framed you."
* WhamShot: Iris is able to concentrate enough to read the Mirrorverse STAR Labs monitors to find Singh's location. But the the neural dissonance intensifies to the point that Iris inexplicably vanishes before Kamilla's eyes.
* WhatTheHellHero:
** Nash, at Harry's behest, calls out Barry for considering trading Carver's life for Iris's. He also calls Barry out for almost killing him while he was possessed by Thawne.
** Ralph stops Sue from going to murder Carver, insisting it will make her feel bad.
* TheWorfEffect: Eva easily dispatches of Carver's three assassins (and then convinces them to work for her instead).
