Although, callous users may find out that RealityWarpingIsNotAToy. This trope often entails a bit of LeaningOnTheFourthWall, if not [[BreakingTheFourthWall breaking it outright]]; a character with access to the control might fast-forward through boring parts of a storyline while giving an [[AsideGlance amusing aside to the audience]], use the remote to rewind and SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong, or even pause the action entirely to [[CharacterFilibuster go off on a long speech about something or other]], to name just a few uses.
