[[https://archiveofourown.org/series/2967042 Reality Rewritten]] by Booklivesmatter is a fix-it fan fiction for Film/SpiderManNoWayHome. Instead of casting a spell to make the universe forgot Peter Parker exists, Dr. Strange casts a spell that sends Peter's consciousness back in time to November 2016 in hopes of preventing the disaster the universe was facing. The very first change Peter makes is showing Tony Stark some papers that he found in the storage locker where his parent's stuff was stored. Papers that show that he was really Tony's kidnapped son Matthew Stark and that his kidnappers were HYDRA agents.
!! Reality Rewritten contains examples of:
* AdaptationalSexuality: In canon MCU, Peter is depicted as being straight. Here, he is bisexual and ends up pursuing a relationship with [[spoiler:Harley Keener]].
* AmbiguousSituation: [[spoiler:It is left unclear if the radioactive spider that bit Peter when he was 14 was an accident or part of HYDRA's plot against Tony. The one-shot story that follows up on the investigation of Peter's time under HYDRA said his body was prepared for receiving genes from other species. That preparation was why he survived the bite.]]
* CassandraTruth: Peter is unable to convince Mr. Harrington or Flash that he really has an internship at Stark Industry. After Peter offers proof in the form of documentation, Mr. Harrington threatens Peter with suspension if he brings up Stark Industry again.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Roughly a day before the start of the story, Peter learns that the people he thought were his parents (Richard and Mary Parker) were not only his kidnappers, but worked for HYDRA. His real father is Tony Stark. Before Richard and Mary died, he was conditioned in preparation to turn him into a kind of super solider they could use against Tony.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Peter only planned on showing Tony the proof he was Tony's kidnapped son. Until Happy said they should call the police, he didn't realize it could potentially May get into trouble for something she didn't do as well as a few other things. Fortunately no bad consequences happened that were directly related to it.
* ForWantOfANail: Somehow, giving Tony proof that Peter is his kidnapped son causes the deal to sell Avengers Tower to fall apart.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: A downplayed example. In an attempt to prove once and for all that Peter doesn't have an internship at Stark Industry, Mr. Harrington arranges for the Academic Decathlon team to go on a tour of Stark Industry's labs in Avengers Tower. It backfires when they go through security and FRIDAY identifies Peter as Tony's personal intern.
* InSpiteOfANail:
** [[spoiler:May still dies.]]
** [[spoiler:Dr. Strange will still have to cast a spell to make everyone forget Peter in order to save the universe when the villains from the other universe start showing up.]]
** [[spoiler:Quentin Beck still causes trouble by pretending to be a super hero by using drones and holograms.]]
* ItsAllMyFault: [[spoiler:Peter blames himself for May dying 8 years sooner.]]
* MistakenForPedophile: Dr. Strange due to Peter and Ned repeatedly visiting him at the Sanctum Sanctorum. Fortunately, he is able to straighten out the misunderstanding.
* ParentalAbandonment: [[spoiler:Peter's biological mother doesn't want anything to do with him and makes it very clear when Peter finds her after ignoring Tony's advise to not search for her.]]
* PeggySue: Instead of erasing everyone's memories of Peter to save the universe, Dr. Strange casts a spell that sends Peter's consciousness back to 2016.
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: Peter is Tony Stark's son who was kidnapped as a toddler.
