The fic has the combatants from WebAnimation/DeathBattle [[BackFromTheDead all revived and well living together,]] with the heroes at the Hero's Hotel, and the villains at the [[BadGuyBar Villain's Hotel]].

3	However, it doesn't end there. Since the place is filled with various combatants of all shapes, sizes, species, and personalities, many of them don't get along very well. While some are friends, others are constantly at each others throats, trying to kill each other for various reasons. While mostly comedy focused, there are also many serious and heartfelt moments along with plenty of action, with a healthy dose of lampshading and meta-humor to boot.

7	* AdaptationalPersonalityChange: Averted for the most part; many combatants are represented faithfully with their personalities intact. One exception is [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ryu]], who's somewhat more excitable and eager like his friend Ken. It was later explained as Ryu missing Ken's energy, [[SelfDeprecation which Deadpool called a cop-out.]]

11	** [[spoiler: The Joker is apparently capable of doing this although it was hinted to be Deadpool's fault.]]

15	* TheDreaded: Doomsday. Once Doomsday is announced, the Justice League isn't debating who'd win between him and Hulk; they're discussing how they're going to deal with something that's very likely to kill everyone and render almost anything they've got moot.
16	** NoSell: And indeed it's Doomsday's fight in a nutshell. Raiden's sword can't do crap, Ryu's Dark Hadou doesn't work since Doomsday has no soul, Tails and Luigi setting off multiple bombs only annoys him, and Zelda's magic is just as effective as anything else they try.
17	* EnemyMine: [[spoiler: When Beerus and Galaxia arrive at Net city, they discover that all the heroes and villains have dissappeared and that city has been invaded by incredibly powerful drones called I.C.H.P.A.Us (Intradimensional Character-Hunting Polymorphic Attack Unit), so they decide to team up until they get to the bottom of the situation]].

38	* NobodyTouchesTheHair: Yang. Not even when she's in a coma will anyone touch the hair.
39	* NoYay: Multiple characters react to some of the fan ships they're involved in this way, whether it's due to {{Squick}} (Yang x Ruby), being completely incompatible (Chun Li x Juri), or the other person in question being someone who essentially ruined their life (Guts x Griffith and Tifa x Sephiroth).
40	* PutOnABus: Several characters barely get any scenes. Granted this is due to the sheer number of characters, but some characters never even appear. [[VideoGame/GuiltyGear Sol]] only gets ''one'' line until chapter 125, and Scrooge [=McDuck=] and Shovel Knight don't even get a proper introduction into the story after their episode came out.
41	* ShesNotMyGirlfriend: Yang and Tifa. Usually resulting in someone getting punched.
42	* SitcomArchNemesis: Lots of characters don't get along very well for a number of reasons, however the crowning duo would have to be Deadpool and the author, who both regularly take pot shots at each other.
43	* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: The reason Bayonetta doesn't want [[Anime/DragonBallZ Chi-Chi]] in Death Battle.
44	* StoryBreakerPower: Goku and Superman. Any and all physical conflict in the fic would be pointless if these two were ever around. Unfortunately, they are off on their own mission, leaving the others to deal with the problems that arise there.
45	* SoreLoser: Scorpion's response to the power going out before he can beat Ragna at [[VideoGame/InjusticeGodsAmongUs Injustice?]] Lots and lots of hellfire.
46	* TakeThatAudience: While more benign than most, the author isn't above taking shots at people claiming Death Battle is biased or using track records or recent releases as evidence of who will lose. It's usually not directly towards anyone in particular. ''Usually''.
47	** This has been broken as of Chapter 101 - 104 in which he directly calls out a specific person for getting on his back about his Taiyang bashing (whether or not the bashing is deserved, the callouts are deserved, what the group actually constitutes {A group of people on Tumblr or anyone who calls out the treatment of Taiyang] if the author is right or wrong of if it's even a problem at all is YMMV of the highest caliber.)
