3	David Owen Russell (born 1958) is an American film director and screenwriter.

5	He's sometimes notorious [[PrimaDonnaDirector for losing his cool during production]] of his own movies, particularly during the filming of ''Film/ThreeKings'', where he nearly got into a brawl with Creator/GeorgeClooney, and ''Film/IHeartHuckabees'', where he got into screaming matches with Creator/LilyTomlin (videos of those ended up online). Of course, he mellowed down later on and received UsefulNotes/AcademyAward nominations for directing ''Film/TheFighter'', ''Film/SilverLiningsPlaybook'', and ''Film/AmericanHustle''. Clooney and Tomlin both stated that they made up with Russell. Other violent incidents include putting Creator/ChristopherNolan in a headlock at a party in 2004 over Creator/JudeLaw dropping out of ''Huckabees'' for ''Film/ThePrestige'' for the paycheck to cover a divorce settlement. Law would later reverse the decision.
