3	'''Alphanim''' is a French animation studio based in Vincennes (a suburb of Paris) and founded by Christian Davin (formerly an executive producer at [[Creator/MoonScoop France Animation]]) in 1997. In 2008, the studio was acquired by French film company Creator/{{Gaumont}} to get their foot back into television and WesternAnimation, having previously sold their TV division in 1999 and lost their animation division Gaumont Multimedia after it split off to become Creator/{{Xilam}} that same year. Consequently, Alphanim was renamed '''Gaumont Animation''' in 2013 (do '''NOT''' get them confused with Xilam's old identity).

5	Whether as Alphanim or Gaumont Animation, the studio has made many contributions to the world of European animation, having created such cartoons as ''WesternAnimation/{{Robotboy}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/DudeThatsMyGhost''. However, they have also been very involved in Canadian and American animation. With the former, they have co-produced many shows with famed Canadian studios, like Creator/{{Cinar}}, Creator/{{Nelvana}}, and Creator/MercuryFilmworks, on series like ''WesternAnimation/AtomicPuppet'', ''WesternAnimation/DeltaState'', and ''WesternAnimation/MonaTheVampire''. With the latter, they have done work on a few series made for Creator/{{Netflix}}, such as ''WesternAnimation/FIsForFamily'' and ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiRabbitTheUsagiChronicles''. They also currently own the rights to three ''ComicBook/{{Asterix}}'' movies.
