[[folder:Vegans]]
!!Tropes Common to All:
* AnimalLover: Zigzagged. On the one hand, their whole reason for being vegan is so that animals won't have to die or be farmed for their milk/eggs, and they frequently claim animals are better than humans. However, they also don't seem to like cats -- Sterk has killed a cat to prove a point, Elise is meant to be in the wrong for giving a burger to Tommy but not a cat, and Cuntons is portrayed as evil for liking cats.
* TheAtoner: Since meat eating is morally wrong in their eyes, the vegans see their lifestyle and activism as [[http://archive.li/s1Ymg atoning for their non-vegan days]].
* BadassPacifist: The narrative treats them as [[InformedKindness peace-loving]] animal lovers, who manage to hold their ground against the [[DesignatedEvil villains]] of the series.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: All of the vegans are absolutely adorable. While some of the "carnists" are beautiful as well, some are ugly, while none of the vegans are.
* BoomerangBigot: They claim HumansAreBastards due to eating meat (along with other immoral behaviours unrelated to diet, such as rape) despite being humans themselves.
* CantTakeCriticism: Any (constructive or non-constructive) criticism of veganism is dismissed by the protagonists as being flawed, ignorant, or [[https://archive.li/oPYaY rude]], even when a lot of them have sound arguments.
* EvilVegetarian: "Carnist" characters accuse them of being this at times.
* {{Hypocrite}}: They see no difference between Jews and pigs, consider everyone who disagrees with them brainwashed by the system, parasites and evil, have no problem with murdering those who disagree with them or enabling it... and break GodwinsLaw often.
* InsufferableGenius: Downplayed -- they're not usually portrayed as geniuses or nerdy, but they do have a habit of [[https://archive.is/prRZg smugly pointing out when the "carnists" are using logical fallacies]].
* {{Politically Incorrect Hero}}es: Of the thoughtless variety, with their willingness to compare not being vegan to various human-rights violations, to condone the objectification of women for [[AnimalWrongsGroup PeTA-style]] shock value, dismissive of non-vegan religious/spiritual beliefs, and so on.
* SmugStraightEdge: All of them have a HolierThanThou attitude that makes them belittle or chastise omnivores as being morally inferior just because they consume animal products. They even smugly claim that even omnivores themselves [[http://archive.is/kkzhh subconsciously think their actions]] [[PersonalHorror are bad]].
* StrawVegetarian: All of them, at some point, have behaved like straight examples of the trope (hating humans, being mean to non-vegans, etc). Except we're supposed to sympathize with them.
* {{Well Intentioned Extremist}}s: They believe their self-righteous (and sometimes violent) actions are in the best interests of standing up for animals. Since they are favored by the narrative, their behavior and stances are never treated as being extreme.

!!Brie/Plausibell
[[quoteright:130:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/plausibel.jpg]]

The most frequently appearing vegan. Her name was changed from Brie to Plausibell during the [[ArtShift change to the simpler art style.]] Has a younger brother, Shawn, who she frequently butts heads with, along with a younger sister, Cherry, who is being raised vegan.

!! Tropes:
* TheAce: She is an accomplished young woman, who inspired her mother to become vegan, get her family out of debt by starting up a successful business, and was a top student in school.
* AllLovingHero: Her biggest [[InformedAttribute attribute]] is that she is supposed to be [[InformedKindness kind and caring]], however, for many critics this comes across as selective compassion that is only reserved for her fellow vegans and animals.
* AuthorAvatar: Is Yerdian's usual mouthpiece; additionally, Cuntons [[TakeOurWordForIt allegedly]] [[StalkerWithoutACrush stalking and harassing her in an attempt to silence her]] is based on Yerdian's [[http://archive.is/2TGtn account of a conflict]] between herself and a critic.
* BigBrotherBully: Well, Big Sister. She at times can be very passive aggressively mean towards [[StrawLoser Shawn]], [[http://archive.fo/eJka3 due to his non-vegan status]]. This is averted with [[CheerfulChild Cherry]], who she has a better relationship with, since they are both vegans.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Meta character-wise, she is supposed to be seen as the NiceGirl heroine of the story, however, non-vegans (along with non-extreme vegans) find her to be condescending, intolerant, and unsympathetic to those who don't agree with her views.
* CainAndAbel: Has this dynamic with her brother, Shawn, due to her being a vegan while he is a dedicated meat eater. Since the comic always sides with the vegans, Shawn is portrayed as the Cain while Brie/Plausibell is the Abel.
* CoolBigSis: Her younger sister, Cherry, looks up to her due to being vegan.
* CoolTeacher: [[WordOfGod Yerdian]] revealed she is [[http://archive.fo/U07mH Legua's]], who was inspired to become vegan because of her.
* DeadpanSnarker: [[CharacterizationMarchesOn Early in the comic]], she was more sarcastic until Yerdian dropped that aspect of her in order to make her [[InformedKindness nicer]].
* DisappearedDad: Their father left them in debt, while running off with a younger woman.
* DumbBlonde: [[InformedAttribute Supposedly averted]], since she is ''never'' treated as being wrong about anything, ''[[CreatorsPet ever]]''. She is also stated to be a part-time teacher, while being an excellent student when she was in school. Nonetheless accidentally comes off as one, although less in terms of being TheDitz than in terms of a sort of [[LawfulStupid dogmatic willful ignorance]].
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: The narrative of the comic depicts [[DesignatedHero Brie/Plausibell]] as being the more responsible sibling due to her status as a vegan and is portrayed as always have the better argument for her stances, in comparison to her brother Shawn, who is seen as the foolish sibling.
* TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry: Averted; she gets along well with her younger sister Cherry, presumably because Cherry is a fellow vegan.
* GranolaGirl: An animal loving vegan.
* HappilyAdopted: She was adopted into the family before [[ButtMonkey Shawn]] and [[ChildrenAreInnocent Cherry]] were born.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Seen as this by the narrative (she's blonde and is meant to be a nice woman who only wants what's best for the animals). For those that don't agree with her dogmatic views, she subverts this trope (seemingly wanting what's best for the animals, but abusing her brother and other non-vegans in the process).
* HippieTeacher: She's a teacher and avid activist for veganism.
* ImprobableAge: Before her age up, she was supposed to be 18 years old and a teacher, in addition to running her own online store (which has been retconned to being a vegan food business).
* InformedAttribute:
** Yerdian describes her as often trying to reach out to [[BornUnlucky Shawn]] in order to help him, but he always refuses due to his pride holding him back. However, in the vegan books, it's actually shown to be the other way around. Shawn is always trying to [[http://archive.fo/kqrxS extend a leaf and come to mutual respect of each other's lifestyles]], while Plausibell rejects any opportunity, due to believing it would be condoning animal abuse. And this is portrayed as her adhering to her values, instead of being dogmatically stubborn.
** She is also supposed to be really intelligent and excelled in school. However, in actual depiction, she's [[SelectiveObliviousness selectively]] [[KnowNothingKnowItAll ignorant]] about veganism, omnivorism, and human health, to the point she dismisses any information that contradicts her beliefs.
* InformedKindness: While she is billed as the absolute angel of sweetness and compassion, she can more accurately be described as sanctimonious, mean-spirited, and underhanded.
* IronicName: Her former name, Brie, also happens to be the name of a type of cheese, a decidedly non-vegan food.
* {{Irony}}: She supports [[KnowNothingKnowItAll highly misinformed]] material about veganism and omnivorism, while being a teacher.
* MeaningfulName: Her new name, Plausibell, was most likely intended to invoke this. In light of her being an AuthorAvatar whose purpose is to spout propaganda, [[IronicName it comes off as quite the opposite]].
* NiceGirl: Meant to be an example of this, shown by her refusal to eat meat and her love of animals. However, she averts this for anyone who doesn't agree with the views of the comic.
* OlderThanTheyLook: After she is aged up, she still looks like she could still pass as a teenager.
* OutOfFocus: Despite being the most frequently appearing vegan in earlier books, she has actually stopped appearing in later Pupa Vegan books. Her younger sister instead has taken the spot that was usually reserved for her.
%%* PimpedOutDress: Frequently seen wearing one.
* ShipTease: [[http://archive.li/BpGSW Is depicted]] as being engaged to [[MrFanservice Rohit]] in one strip.
* SiblingRivalry: She and Shawn are often shown butting heads with each other on the issues of veganism and omnivorism. Shawn sometimes tries to [[http://archive.is/71oXC troll his sister with meat-eating comments]], while Brie/Plausibell decries [[http://archive.is/dYDXq his omnivorous diet]].
* SiblingYinYang: Has this dynamic with Shawn. Shawn is a hardcore omnivore with a love for bacon, while Brie/Plausibell is a vocal vegan with a distaste [[DoesNotLikeSpam for any kind of meat]]. On a character-design level—while they do have some visual elements such as blondness in common—Shawn is a [[AnimeHair spiky-haired]] boy who tends to dress casually, while Brie/Plausibell is a neatly-coiffed girl who seems to never wear anything except [[PimpedOutDress fancy dresses]].
* SuddenNameChange: Her name was changed to Plausibell in Pupa Vegan.
* SugaryMalice: An unintentional example. Plausibell is treated by the narrative as a [[InformedKindness benevolet]] defender of animals, detractors see her defense of animals and being vegan as an excuse to act unpleasant and self-righteous towards non-vegans.
* SupremeChef: Said to love cooking and making cakes, even bringing her own homemade vegan cupcakes to school.
* TookALevelInKindness: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. She lost her sarcastic trait due to Yerdian wanting to portray her as a nicer person, which didn't really change her character.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: From a detractor's perspective, Brie/Plausibell is this to many of her loved ones, specifically [[MsFanservice Legua]], [[HazyFeelTurn Dolly]], [[TokenMinority Lulu]], and [[ChildrenAreInnocent Cherry]], with the former three going from once being tolerant of eating meat to hating any omnivore, including [[TheChewToy Shawn]], who was close friends with Legua (plus had a crush on her) and at least got along with Dolly. Likewise with the latter, who is being raised vegan with the help of her older sister and [[BigBrotherWorship looks up to to her]].
* WhoNamesTheirKidDude: Both names she has had don't seem to make a lot of sense. Brie is a type of cheese, and Plausibell is, ironically, a rather implausible name.
* WomenAreWiser: She gets treated as being more rational, mature, and intelligent than her younger brother, due to being vegan.

!!Legua
[[quoteright:172:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/legua.jpg]]
Another frequently appearing vegan.

!!Tropes:
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: She is crushing on Sanc, an animal liberator that is described as a [[http://archive.fo/sKpN2 "nut job"]] by Yerdian.
%%* AllLovingHero: Supposed to be this, but comes off as a {{Jerkass}} to the webcomic's critics.
* AsLongAsItSoundsForeign: "Legua" is not an actual first name, but based on the Dutch word for inguana (Leguuan).
* AuthorAvatar: While Plausibell makes most of the webcomic's arguments for veganism, Legua takes a close second place. In addition, she looks similar to the webcomic's artist. Notably, she stopped appearing in Pupa Vegan, the same series where Priya's FictionalCounterpart started appearing.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: A sweet vegan that has also [[http://archive.is/nG3Ri kicked Shawn right between the legs]] to make a point about veganism.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Cares about animals and is quite compassionate; to her fellow vegans, that is. Towards "carnists," she shows quite the mean and violent streak.
* FemmeFatale: Legua has flirted with Shawn a few times, in the interests of {{troll}}ing or assaulting him a moment later.
* GranolaGirl: Like the rest of her female and vegan peers, her main shtick is promoting veganism.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: She's friends with Sterk and Raziel, and crushing on Sanc, all three of whom are described as nut jobs.
* HotBlooded: Aside from the above mentioned incident where she kicked Shawn in the balls, she also seems more emotional than Plausibell.
* InformedKindness: Like Plausibell, she is treated as the epitome of kindness, but ends up seeming more like a jerk and a bully towards the omnivores.
* MoralityPet: Towards Sterk, who protects her from omnivores. Not that any of this [[TakeOurWordForIt is seen in the comics available online]], mind you.
* MsFanservice: Is often shown in gorgeous Indian styled dresses. Her clothing also tends to be skimpier than the rest of the cast's.
* NiceGirl: Like Plausibell, her veganism is supposed to make her this, even when she acts mean towards those that don't share her views.
* OnlyFriend: She is one to Sterk, who is supposed to be not liked by anyone, even the vegan characters.
* OutOfFocus: She only has appeared in [[http://archive.fo/fwWrD one strip]] for the Pupa Vegan books.
* SecondLove: To [[StrawLoser Shawn]], after [[TokenMinority Lulu]] broke up with him, due to converting to veganism and his [[TakeOurWordForIt "supposed"]] toxic behavior towards her when she embraced it. Sadly, she too would cut ties with him after becoming vegan.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Is infatuated with fellow vegan Sanc. This is also why she is not interested in Shawn, since she considers his meat eating [[http://78.media.tumblr.com/0774d2b21b5552e1342a17c2298aeeb7/tumblr_n6t31ej2yy1rkwrmdo1_400.png to be morally wrong.]]
* SugaryMalice: Just like Brie/Plausibell, she often times puts on a cheerful face even as she's mistreating non-vegan characters.
* TwoferTokenMinority: She is Indian and female.
* YoungerThanSheLooks: She's 16, making her younger than Plausibell and Shawn.

!!Dolly
[[quoteright:143:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dolly_4.jpg]]

A vegan that appears about as often as Legua. She was formerly a "carnist" before becoming a vegan in the Vegventure comics, at which point she became a sympathetic character. Her sister, Diva, is still an omnivore.

!!Tropes:
* ACupAngst: Beat up [[StrawLoser Shawn]] back when she was an omnivore for calling her [[http://archive.is/8lpPr skinny and flat chested]].
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Has a crush on Sterk, who has been seen casually murdering people.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: According to WordOfGod, she was made a vegan because Priya considered her too cute to be an antagonist.
* TheBully: Supposedly bullied vegans with Shawn before she became one herself, not that we ever see this.
* ButtMonkey: Was often given a hard time by the vegans before she went vegan, and was even given this treatment for a little while after she went vegan.
* CainAndAbel: The Abel to Diva's Cain, since she is vegan, thus making her a protagonist in the narrative's eyes.
* CharacterDevelopment: Dolly starts out as a "[[StrawLoser carnist]]" character, but through spending time learning about veganism from Brie and the others, she becomes a vegan. According to any reader who doesn't agree wholeheartedly with Yerdian, this is a case of Administrivia/TropesAreNotGood: After her conversion to veganism, she becomes just as self-righteous and intolerant as her friends.
* ChildhoodFriends: Before Brie/Plausibell's age was retconned, she and Dolly were described as having been friends since they were kids.
* DirtyCoward: When she agrees to a fight with Shawn to see if vegans are weaker than omnivores she then summons Rohit in her place so he could up Shawn.
* EasyEvangelism: Averted; it took her over a year before she became vegan.
* EnragedByIdiocy: After she became vegan, she frequently snaps at "carnist" characters for spouting (in her eyes) ignorant statements that are meant to [[http://archive.is/nDheN refute veganism]] or [[http://archive.is/xucF7 portray vegans as hypocrites]].
* {{Fangirl}}: Implied to be one of ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'', given the Super Mushroom clip she has on her visor.
* FarmBoy: GenderInverted; She used to work on their uncle's farm like her [[TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry big sister]], but later became vegan and became a vocal opponent of animal agriculture.
* GenkiGirl: Described as "perky" on one of her [[http://archive.is/BpqH5 character info page.]] In the comic, this isn't as apparent, since the vegans are all basically carbon copies of each other.
* TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry: While Diva is an omnivore working on their uncle's farm, Dolly is a vegan that considers animal farms and omnivorism to be morally wrong.
* HazyFeelTurn: Dolly was originally a "carnist," but later went vegan after a brief interval of fluctuating back and forth between ButtMonkey (getting [[https://s8.postimg.org/841v29vqd/It_Is_Either_A_Diet_Or_A_Boycott_Not_An_Objecti.jpg mocked by Lilith]] for being "merely" vegetarian or [[http://archive.is/j06wU accused of "ignorance" for having no energy]] when her only available options were rice and ramen) and mouthpiece ([[http://archive.is/mdWxY stealing Shawn's mushrooms]] when he makes the mistake of expressing distaste for "vegan food" while eating them). This is treated like a HeelFaceTurn due to the comic's stance on omnivory, but is better defined as this trope in any other context.
* HotBlooded: Even more so than Legua, she is prone to have angry outbursts and even beats up others, who get on her bad side.
* InformedAttribute: Described as "perky" but never seems any more energetic than the other characters, and is said to love energy drinks but never seen drinking any.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: She is described as being Plausibell's best friend, despite them having a 12 year age gap.
* PetTheDog: Even though she was responsible for getting Shawn forced into an unwinnable fight against Rohit, it's still nice to see [[http://archive.is/aISwx her concerned about his well-being after said fight.]]
* RoseHairedSweetie: [[InformedKindness Supposedly]] this after her HazyFeelTurn -- she has pink hair, and the narrative treats all vegans as kind.
* SmugSnake: Even after her HazyFeelTurn, she's nearly as likely to be caught smirking as [[StrawLoser Shawn]].
* StrongAsTheyNeedToBe: Despite showing in an [[http://archive.is/8lpPr earlier]] [[https:https://archive.is/7eaXM comics]] she is capable of beating up Shawn, however, in a later comic she has [[https://archive.is/7eaXM/d8a141a730d366a2f1411e61eeb8fdce5208321a to resort to Rohit to win a fight against Shawn]].
* TookALevelInJerkass: After becoming vegan, Dolly has become just as much of a jerk as the other vegans. A notable case is the fact that she [[LackOfEmpathy lacks any empathy]] for the people who could have possibly been hurt when a bunch of calves got loose, and shows more sympathy for the escaped cattle.
* TookALevelInKindness: What Dolly's conversion to veganism was ''supposed'' to be seen as since the comic equates veganism with morals.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Is said to love energy drinks, though she has not been seen drinking any on screen.

!!Mike
[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mike_35.jpg]]

A sweet vegan that doesn't appear as often as Plausibell, Legua, or Dolly. She was introduced to show that being skinny wasn't a requirement for being vegan, though the fact that her obesity is blamed on her mother feeding her unhealthy non-vegan foods [[BrokenAesop kind of destroys that message.]] Her mother Elise and her brother Tommy are both still "carnists."

!!Tropes:
* AllLovingHero: Definitely shows this trope more than most of her fellow vegans, though even she has her [[JerkassBall jerk moments.]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Like Legua, she's a sweet vegan. Unlike Legua, she chose to [[http://archive.is/X7dqX give Shawn burns with her tea]] rather than wreck his reproductive system when he said something she found offensive.
* BigBeautifulWoman: She's one of the fattest recurring characters in the series, but also sweet-faced, bright-eyed, and described as "cute" on her cast page.
* BigEater: Her being fat is meant to be because she eats a lot of junk food.
* DisappearedDad: There is no mention of her father, even though her mother, Elise, is a noted character.
%%* IdiotHair: Has one in the shape of a heart.
* FoodSlap: Throws tea in Shawn's face for calling her human. It MakesSenseInContext.
* JerkassBall: Although Mike is one of the nicer [[DesignatedHero protagonists]], she does have moments where she can be just as mean to [[ButtMonkey Shawn]] as the others. The most prominent examples are [[http://archive.is/epBsb stealing Shawn's fries when he refuses to eat fake meat]], joining her friends in [[MisplacedRetribution beating him up]] after [[http://archive.is/7eaXM Sterk uses him as an excuse to be apathetic]], and [[http://archive.is/X7dqX scalding him with tea]] for calling her "{{human|sAreTheRealMonsters}}."
* NiceGirl: One of the better examples of this among the vegans. While she can be a jerk sometimes, she isn't a jerk as often as her friends.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Likes "vegan junkfood," which seems to mean "French fries [[EnemyEatsYourLunch stolen from Shawn]] in order to [[ButtMonkey make a point]]."
* WhiteSheep: By the standards' of the series' ethics, Mike is considered this, due to be the only vegan in her family.

!!Rohit
[[quoteright:125:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rohit_2.jpg]]

Legua's cousin, who is a boxer and a bodybuilder. He was raised vegan by his parents and is a practicing Hindu. He is the most common recurring male vegan of the cast.

!! Tropes:
* {{Hunk}}: Justified since he's a bodybuilder, and has molded his body to be muscular and well-toned.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He derides killing animals and eating meat as being unmanly and barbaric, since he views it as picking on those weaker than oneself. And yet he's a grown man who has no problem physically attacking minors over differences of opinion.
* ImprobableAge: Just like with Plausibell, his age was changed due to how unrealistic it would be for an 18 year old to have his type of education and experience, while also being a personal trainer.
* InformedAttribute: He is [[http://archive.fo/erwNV supposed to dislike Sterk]], but in the [[http://archive.fo/UnpUJ one strip]] where they interact he doesn't treat him with disdain as he does with all non-vegan characters like Shawn.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: Due to his age retcon, he is this to a lot of the cast, who are still teenagers.
* JerkJock: He's supposedly an aversion of this archetype, but his treatment of [[StrawLoser "carnists"]], especially [[ButtMonkey Shawn]], makes him come across as dickish in the eyes of detractors.
* KarmaHoudini: Due to being a vegan character, he never has to face consequences for [[WouldHurtAChild unjustly beating up Shawn]].
* KickTheDog: Although Shawn being beat up by him is supposed to be seen as LaserGuidedKarma, it comes across like this since he's a minor and most of the times it's very much unwarranted.
* KindheartedCatLover: Rohit owns a white cat, though how [[InformedKindness kind]] he actually is considered [[DesignatedHero debatable]].
* LovableJock: Due to his status as a [[DesignatedHero "vegan"]], he's seen by the narrative and other vegans as a compassionate person, who cares deeply for animals and practices non-violence. However, his mean spirited and sometimes even violent behavior towards the omnivores (the most notable example being the time when he clocks [[ButtMonkey Shawn]] after being [[LetsYouAndHimFight provoked into it]] by Dolly) can make him come across as an [[JerkJock inverted example]].
* MrFanservice: He often wears [[SleevesAreForWimps sleeveless shirts]] which expose his well-toned muscles.
* MusclesAreMeaningful: He manages to deliver a [[CurbStompBattle a single knock out]] to [[TheChewToy Shawn]] in a boxing competition between them.
* OlderThanHeLooks: He's 33 and looks as young as the teenage characters.
* ARealManIsAKiller: Inverted with him, he believes killing animals is an example of [[http://archive.is/ezygS picking on the weak]].
* RealMenEatMeat: Inverted like with the trope above, since he sees eating [[http://archive.is/ilg0c meat as cowardly and barbaric]].
* ReligiousBruiser: Rohit is described on his earlier character bio as a Hindu bodybuilder who [[https://web.archive.org/web/20160201020625/http://www.veganartbook.com:80/about/#rohit "supports the original form of Hinduism, where non-violence towards all creatures is the key."]]
* ShipTease: [[http://archive.li/BpGSW Seems to be involved with]] [[GranolaGirl Plausibell]], going by one strip where they are engaged.
* SleevesAreForWimps: His shirts are generally sleeveless and he's a well-built boxer and bodybuilder.
* StereotypeFlip: He's an Indian who inverts the BollywoodNerd stereotype by being a buff athlete.
* WouldHurtAChild: Since he has been retconned to be [[http://archive.fo/sKpN2 33 years old]], this means all the times he's beaten up [[ButtMonkey Shawn]] were essentially him injuring a minor.
* YoungerThanHeLooks: Before he was aged up, Rohit was originally stated to be [[http://archive.is/J9UFK 18 years old]].

!!Lilith
[[quoteright:286:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lilith_15.jpg]]

A cynical vegan that occasionally appears whenever the comic needs a good dash of misanthropy.

!!Tropes:
* AxCrazy: Not as much as [[InformedLoner Sterk]], but she in on strip subjected a "carnist" to a FateWorseThanDeath before he was eaten by lions and [[KarmaHoudini all she got was a light scolding from Legua]].
* TheBusCameBack: She came back into the series in Pupa Vegan Purple.
* TheCynic: Seen as less optimistic about the world than the other vegans.
* DeadpanSnarker: Has definitely had her [[http://archive.is/KJnoQ snarky]] [[https://s8.postimg.org/841v29vqd/It_Is_Either_A_Diet_Or_A_Boycott_Not_An_Objecti.jpg moments.]]
* DarknessVonGothickName: Changed her name to "Lilith" from the cheerful "Lily."
* EmbarrassingFirstName: Lilith hates her real name "Lily", and changed it as a result.
* {{Goth}}: A gloomy vegan who wears dark clothing and has streaked hair.
* InformedAbility: She is supposed to know martial arts, but we never see her use it.
* KarmaHoudini: She never faces any punishment for her occasional violence against non-vegans, especially the aforementioned incident with giving a "carnist" a FateWorseThanDeath.
* OutOfFocus: Only appeared in one strip in Vegventures, and didn't appear in Pupa Vegan until the purple edition.
* PointyEars: Sports a pair after her reappearance in Pupa Vegan.
* SitcomArchNemesis: To Diva, who hates her snarky attitude.
* VitriolicBestBuds: She and Plausibell are supposed [[http://archive.fo/4i2f0 to argue a lot due to her support of]] [[TheGhost Sanc, the animal liberator]], who is [[EveryoneHasStandards "too extreme"]] even for the latter. Like most of the characterization in the series, this is [[InformedAttribute actually not shown at all]] and they treat each other equally civilly.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: [[http://archive.li/TB2dA Her Pupa Vegan design]] is substantially different from her old one, with the gothic aesthetic the only trait carried over.

!!Dashling/Dazz Ling
[[quoteright:168:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dazz_ling.jpg]]

An infrequently appearing vegan cook.

!!Tropes:
* AnimeChineseGirl: Definitely looks the part, with her clothes and insane pigtails.
* AsLongAsItSoundsForeign: While Ling is an actual Chinese name, her previous name Dashling isn't. This is in part because Yerdian mistook [[RougeAnglesOfSatin "dashling"]] as the spelling "dazzling".
* OutOfFocus: She's one of the less utlized vegan cast members.
* PunnyName: Her current name "Dazz Ling"(Dazzling).
* SuddenNameChange: Downplayed. She keeps the Ling part of her name, but the first part [[http://archive.is/ntmyN "Dash" is changed to Dazz]] and separated from the second part.
* SupremeChef: Cooks organic vegan meals that cater to every known food allergy and "[make] even hardcore carnists like Shawn succumb".
%%* TeamChef: To the vegans.

!!Raziel
[[quoteright:191:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raziel_8.jpg]]

A misanthropic vegan that dislikes the other vegans for being "too soft."

!!Tropes
* AngelicBeauty: She's an unusual case of a very attractive [[HalfHumanHybrid half-angel]].
* AntiHero: A rare example of a [[DesignatedHero designated one]]. She hates even her fellow vegans for being too [[InformedKindness nice]], but is still treated as a sympathetic character.
* AxCrazy: She isn't a SerialKiller like Sterk, but she's not above wishing and encouraging harm towards [[DesignatedVillain omnivores]]. In one instance, she gleefully supports Lilith giving a [[TheFaceless faceless]] "carnist" a CoolAndUnusualPunishment. In a [[http://archive.fo/cHiHH later strip]], we actually see her straight up murder someone for the first time ever, just because he [[DisproportionateRetribution made an anti-vegan joke]].
* TheBusCameBack: After being gone for most of the early Pupa Vegan series, she finally came back in Pupa Vegan Black and Pink.
* CharacterFocus: In Pupa Vegan Black, she is made the main character.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Like [[TheSociopath Sterk]], she is supposed to be an example of this trope from the series's narrative (is misanthropic and one strip shows her killing a non-vegan), but comes off as the [[DarkisEvil opposite]] to non-extreme vegan readers.
* HalfHumanHybrid: She is half-angel.
* HolyHalo: An ironic instance, and paired with her horn-shaped hair, especially since she is supposed to be a [[OurAngelsAreDifferent half-angel]].
* InformedLoner: A less obvious one than Sterk. However, she's supposed to not even like most of the other vegans...but her role in the comics is nearly indistinguishable from that of [[SuddenNameChange Brie/Plausibell]].
* KarmaHoudini: Like every vegan character in the series, she never gets punished for her more appalling actions, which includes murdering people for [[DisproportionateRetribution coming up with ideas for killing chickens and making anti-vegan jokes.]]
* MeaningfulName: She is named after an [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raziel archangel]] found in Jewish mysticism, who is called "Keeper of Secrets" and the "Angel of Mysteries". Very fitting for a (half) angel character like her.
* MisanthropeSupreme: Raziel not ''only'' views omnivores as "parasitic," and hunters in particular as "[[FeelingOppressedByTheirExistence oppressors]]" who should all die...but even hates ''the other vegan characters'' for being too "[[InformedKindness peaceful]]." The narrative nonetheless [[UnintentionallyUnsympathetic treats her as a sympathetic character]].
* MissionFromGod: Apparently she is supposed to be on one from God and her father to save humanity, but her interactions with non-vegan humans have made her less [[MisanthropeSupreme enthusiastic]] about helping them and doesn't mind the idea of them being killed off.
* OralFixation: Always has a lollipop in her mouth when she appears.
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: In [[http://archive.fo/rDra4 Pupa Vegan Black 451]], she is confirmed to be a [[HalfHumanHybrid a half-angel]], who has a father that sent her to earth to stop Satan and his demons, including [[AxCrazy Sterk]] from destroying humanity. After seeing humans killing animals for food, she decides that Satan is right for trying to destroy them.
* SinisterSweetTooth: Commonly seen eating lollipops, and once seen [[http://archive.fo/cHiHH killing someone.]]
* WingedHumanoid: Used to have wings, until they dissolved so she could fit in better with humans.

!!Cherry
[[quoteright:363:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cherry_0.jpg]]

The younger sister of Brie/Plausibell and Shawn, she is a young girl being raised vegan.

!!Tropes:
* AscendedExtra: She first appeared in Pupa Vegan Red as just another side character, while her big sister was still the main vegan protagonist. However, after that she seems to have replaced the spot Brie/Plausibell occupied.
* CainAndAbel: The Abel to Shawn's Cain, though not to the extent of her older sister.
* CheerfulChild: Often seen smiling.
* ChildProdigy: Downplayed -- she's [[https://archive.fo/erwNV/8e74ec378221f6c93b2bf44bd8437588ef900f54.jpg described]] as being "bright for her age", but never seems particularly smart.
* CorruptionOfAMinor: From a critical viewpoint, her [[GranolaGirl older sister's]] influence on her has made her just as extreme as the other vegans in the main cast, which includes seeing her own brother as morally evil.
* DisappearedDad: Her father abandoned the family after leaving them in debt and running off with a younger woman.
* FromTheMouthsOfBabes: In one strip, where she yells, [[https://www.facebook.com/pupaveg/photos/a.606335892815084.1073741827.606315952817078/1565631663552164/?type=3&theater "Sex"]], as a ShoutOut to a vegan meme.
* TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry: Averted, she gets along great with her vegan sister Plausibell. Better than with her omnivorous brother, anyway.
* InformedAttribute: [[https://archive.fo/erwNV/8e74ec378221f6c93b2bf44bd8437588ef900f54.jpg Described as bright]], but never does anything particularly intelligent.
* LittleMissSnarker: Like her [[SharedFamilyQuirks sister]] in the [[CharacterizationMarchesOn beginning of the series]], she possesses a [[http://archive.fo/B2Ykm sarcastic side]] whenever she is interacting with an [[StrawCharacter omnivore]].
* MatureYoungerSibling: Downplayed -- she's meant to be more mature than her older brother Shawn, but the only sign of this is her veganism.
* OlderThanSheLooks: Even though her confirmed age is 11 years old, she looks like she could be 5 or 6 instead.
* PintSizedKid: Downplayed. The art style does make her look younger than her confirmed age, but she also comes up to the other characters' chests at least.
* PrecociousCrush: She appears smitten with the FictionalCounterpart of [[https://archive.is/yrOy3 George Martin]].
* SelflessWish: In Pupa Vegan 644, while [[LovableAlphaBitch Diva]] is rambling about [[AntiRoleModel spending stuff]] [[ItsAllAboutMe on herself]] if she won the lottery, she wishes to open up a sanctuary for rescued animals.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: She shares her sister's vegan lifestyle and [[SoapboxSadie vocalness]].
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She looks like a younger version of her sister, even though Plausibell is adopted.
* TokenMiniMoe: She is the only prepubescent character among the vegans.
* VirginInAWhiteDress: She the youngest character and is always seen in a white dress, presumably to represent her innocence.
* WomenAreWiser: Just her older sister, the narrative [[DesignatedHero treats]] her as being smarter, rational, and mature than her brother, Shawn, even though she is younger than him.

!!Azusa
[[quoteright:146:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/azusa.jpg]]

A vegan introduced in the Pupa Vegan comics.

!!Tropes:
* CampGay: Is said to be gay, and he wears a bright yellow scarf and a patterned jacket.
* EyesAlwaysShut: Has only been seen with his eyes shut.
* FacialMarkings: Has some on his forehead and under his eyes. What purpose they serve is currently unknown.
* FriendlyEnemy: Implied; Diva let him [[https://orig00.deviantart.net/f435/f/2018/090/e/d/_317__my_choice__4__by_pupaveg-dc7i3wn.jpg touch her shoulder,]] indicating that the two are at least on somewhat friendly terms with each other.
* GenderBlenderName: His name is [[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azusa_(given_name) typically used for Japanese women.]]
* NiceGuy: Downplayed. He's one of the genuinely nice vegans, however, he still has that [[https://orig00.deviantart.net/f435/f/2018/090/e/d/_317__my_choice__4__by_pupaveg-dc7i3wn.jpg condescending intolerance]] that the others have.
* TokenMinority: Was explicitly created in order to add a gay vegan, and is currently the only confirmed LGBT character.

!!Older Bongo
[[quoteright:186:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/older_bongo.jpg]]

Another vegan that debuted in Pupa Vegan. He used to be an omnivore when he was younger, but later converted to veganism. He and his younger self are inexplicably shown together in the series.

!!Tropes:
* DeadpanSnarker: Occasionally he will be mouthy towards the non-vegans. The most notable example is [[http://archive.is/KQu30 when he first met Bindiya.]]
* HazyFeelTurn: He became vegan later in life, and just like Dolly, this is treated as if it was a straight HeelFaceTurn.
* FascinatingEyebrow: Does this rarely in contrast to his younger self.
* IHatePastMe: He really doesn't like that his younger self was a non-vegan.

!!Lulu
[[quoteright:196:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lulu_5.jpg]]

A black vegan who debuted in Pupa Vegan. She is also Shawn's ex-girlfriend.

!!Tropes:
* BigEater: She is shown munching on a giant dragonfruit in [[http://archive.fo/tdkDz Pupa Vegan Black 467]].
* BitchInSheepsClothing: While not as bad as Legua and Plausibell, she still has a particularly questionable moment where she tried to ruin her ex's relationship with Legua, because she thought she was protecting her.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Even though she shares the usual extremist beliefs of the other vegans, she is visibly disturbed by [[MisanthropeSupreme Raziel's]] violent actions.
* KickTheDog: Her [[AllThereInTheManual mentioned attempts]] to break up Legua and Shawn was a low move for her, even though she claims she did in the name of protecting the former.
* OnlySaneWoman: In Pupa Vegan Black, where she gets to share the spotlight with people like [[MisanthropeSupreme Raziel.]] She spends a good chunk of time being horrified by the other characters' actions.
* RelationshipSabotage: She tried to break up [[MsFanservice Legua]] and [[LoveHurts Shawn]] when they were together, because she felt she was trying to protect her.
* SassyBlackWoman: She's a black vegan, who can often ditch out snappy remarks to non-vegans and "apologist" vegans.
* TokenMinority: She is currently the only black character.
* TwoferTokenMinority: She is female and black.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: She used to be Shawn's girlfriend, until she was influenced by his sister to become vegan and dumped him, due to his [[TakeOurWordForIt "toxic"]] behavior regarding her choice.

!!Bunny
[[quoteright:184:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bunny_50.jpg]]

A bunny suit wearing vegan who debuted in the Pupa Vegan series. Even though she is a vegan, she is considered an antagonist for being an "apologist" for non-vegans to eat meat.

!!Tropes:
* AttentionWhore: She is portrayed as one in-universe for believing that it's counterproductive to chastise non-vegans for eating meat, [[http://archive.fo/B4LiY so it's better to just respect and validate their choice]]. Of course, this rational is treated as just wanting recognition from [[StrawCharacter omnivores]].
-->''' I'm a vegan, but I'm not one of [[AnimalWrongsGroup "those"]] vegans. I don't kill animals myself, but I respect other people's choice to do so. Telling them to stop killing is counterproductive. You catch more flies with sugar than honey.'"
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Like Bindiya, she is a genuine [[NiceGuy nice character]], who is treated like a straight trope of this due to her being an [[CategoryTraitor "straw apologist"]] that tolerates other people eating animal products.
%%* BlushSticker: She sports two permanent ones.
* BunniesForCuteness: An adorable girl who wears a bunny suit.
* CategoryTraitor: She is considered this, due to [[PunishedForSympathy respecting non-vegans' right to eat animals]].
* CuteIsEvil: Despite being adorable and friendly, she is considered in-universe as evil for not treating [[InsistentTerminology "carnism"]] as [[DesignatedEvil "heinous"]].
* InsaneTrollLogic: In-universe, her [[http://archive.fo/VBsis justifications]] for letting people choose to be vegan or remain omnivores and not preaching is construed as crazy talk.
* LightIsNotGood: She wears an adorable bunny outfit, while sporting a cutesy smile. However, from the narrative's standpoint, she is this due to being an apologist for meat eaters.
* MeaningfulAppearance: She wears a bunny costume, due to the aforementioned label for "apologist" vegans explained below.
* MeaningfulName: Yerdian named her after "fluffy bunnies"- [[http://archive.fo/Acrts#selection-583.38-587.1 a term coined by the founder of the group Carnists Say The Darnest Things for apologist vegans]]. She also wears a bunny costume that goes with her name.
* NiceGirl: From a meta perspective she is a straight example, due to being the only vegan character, who is tolerant of non-vegan lifestyles.
* PinkIsFeminine: She wears an adorably pink bunny suit to fit her [[MeaningfulName name]].
* PunishedForSympathy: Due to being tolerant of non-vegans, she is treated as an antagonist character.
* SugaryMalice: Just like Bindiya, her [[NiceGuy kindess]] is supposed to demonstrate she's a [[CategoryTraitor bootlicker]] willing to tolerate non-vegans eating animals [[AttentionWhore in order to get validation]].
* VisualPun: She wears a bunny outfit, while being a so-called [[InsistentTerminology "speciest"]] vegan.

!!Sanc
[[quoteright:188:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sanc_2.jpg]]

An animal liberator that was mentioned many times beforehand in the series, before finally physically appearing in [[BlackComedy Pupa Vegan Black]]. He is also Lilith's brother.

!!Tropes:
* AmbiguouslyBrown: He is portrayed as tanned like the Indian characters ([[MsFanservice Legua]], [[MrFanservice Rohit]], and [[ChurchgoingVillain Bindiya]]), but is the brother of the very pale goth, [[{{Goth}} Lilith]].
* AntiHero: Like [[OurAngelsAreDifferent Raziel]], he is a rare example of a [[DesignatedHero designated one]]. Even though he is described as a nutjob, he is still seen as a hero for trying to "free" animals from "slavery".
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Even though it's not shown in the Vegan Books, according to Yerdian [[ManipulativeBastard Sanc uses Legua's crush on him to do his dirty work]] in the main books. However, he still is portrayed as a sympathetic character in the vegan book.
* ChickMagnet: His first appearance has him being fawned over by [[LovableAlphaBitch Diva]], until she finds out that he's an [[AnimalWrongsGroup animal liberator]]. [[GranolaGirl Legua]] has been shown to be heavily infatuated with him.
* ManipulativeBastard: He's not above manipulating a girl who has a crush on him to do his dirty work.
* MrFanservice: He's a [[AmbiguouslyBrown well-tanned]], [[TallDarkAndHandsome tall, and dark haired]] man, who likes to [[WalkingShirtlessScene expose his chest to the world]].
* OralFixation: He's always seen with a jalapeno or piece of wheat in his mouth.
* ShipTease: He gets this with Legua, who in early comics is often seen fawning over him. They are even featured together on the Vegan Artbook Hot, being intimately close to one another. In Pupa Vegan Black, [[LovableAlphaBitch Diva]] is at first infatuated with him (believing he frees victims of human trafficking), until she finds out he's an animal liberator.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: He plays the archetype straight.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: He's always wearing his shirt open, which shows off his well-toned, muscled body.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: As an animal liberator, he is unapologetic about his actions, especially if it exposes the "supposed" [[InformedWrongness hypocrisy]] people have about animals.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: While Sanc looks like he could be in his mid to later 20s or even early 30's, he's actually only 18 years old.
* YourTerroristsAreOurFreedomFighters: Zigzagged example: Although he is considered extreme by Yerdian, the narrative still treats him as a sympathetic character, who is [[http://archive.fo/9HuuK liberating animals from so-called abuse]].

!!Sonia Sae
The FictionalCounterpart of the real Sonia Sae, who made her pet fennec, Jumanji, become vegan.

!!Tropes:
* AlliterativeName: ''S''onia ''S''ae.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: In contrast with her rival, she is depicted as a cute chibified version of herself.
* GranolaGirl: She takes it one step further and even makes her carnivorous pet go vegan.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: She's a very beautiful young woman with light skin and dark hair like her real life counterpart.
* TenderTears: Sheds them whenever she sees [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotHeinous animals being killed for meat]].

[[/folder]]

[[folder:"Carnists"]]
!!Tropes Common To All:
* {{Anti Role Model}}s: All of the named characters among their number, especially Shawn and Cuntons, are given given numerous negative traits (or at least {{Informed Flaw}}s) in order to make it look as if omnivores are morally bankrupt by definition.
* TheHedonist: The series frames them as basing their [[http://archive.is/OJNlr moral rationale behind eating meat on their own personal satisfaction]], without any consideration for the lives of animals or the environment.
* InsistentTerminology: They're rarely referred to as anything except "carnists," aside from the occasional designation as "omnifails" or "[[TakeOurWordForIt anti-vegans]]."
* ManChild: They tend to do be treated as immature and ignorant, in contrast with the vegans who are [[InformedAttribute portrayed as the more mature and well-informed faction]] that [[https://www.deviantart.com/pupaveg/art/313-Tu-quoque-738194478often have to lecture]] or [[http://archive.vn/bNzjP talk down to them as if they were children]]. Their drinking milk is also sometimes framed as childish, due to the association of drinking milk with babies.
* NotEvilJustMisunderstood: They are unintended to come cross as this, but many detractors of the series see them as be unfairly villanized for believing it's their right to eat meat. Even when they are depicted as being {{Psycho Knife Nut}}s and [[InformedFlaw immoral]], many readers find them to be more sympathetic and likable than the supposed [[AnimalWrongsGroup "heroes"]].
* PsychoKnifeNut : Often shown wielding knives when they are [[http://archive.fo/MZNQK killing animals]], in order to make it seem that they are inherently violent.
* StrawVegetarian: Inverted; they're straw-''omnivores'' who are framed as amoral, [[LackOfEmpathy callous]], [[ItsAllAboutMe self-absorbed]], [[KnowNothingKnowItAll ignorant]], and [[TheHedonist hedonistic]] for not being vegan.

!!Shawn
[[quoteright:147:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shawn_3.jpg]]

The most frequently appearing "[[InsistentTerminology carnist]]." The meat loving brother of [[GranolaGirl Plausibell and Cherry]], his status as a hardcore meat eater in a webcomic about veganism makes him a primary antagonist. Those that hate the comic, however, tend to root for him.

!!Tropes:
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Is this towards Legua, since he likes her, but she is a vegan with a distaste for omnivores like him.
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Again, his crush on Legua is unrequited.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: The comic certainly treats him as this trope, due to butting heads with his big sister over her veganism.
%%* ArchEnemy: To his older sister, Plausibell.
* UsefulNotes/{{Atheism}}: He's been confirmed to be one, even though [[http://archive.fo/q4rTh he has used religious arguments to justify eating meat]].
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Despite being treated as a [[DesignatedVillain villain]], Yerdian actually acknowledges that deep down [[http://archive.fo/9dIZ0 he cares for his older sister]].
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: Subverted; he is attractive, but the narrative certainly doesn't treat him as sympathetic.
* BigBrotherBully: Like with the AnnoyingYoungerSibling entry above, he's also treated as this when he [[http://archive.fo/YkdXR teases]] or [[http://archive.fo/k7BjM argues]] with Cherry's vegan lifestyle.
* BigEater: Is often portrayed as [[http://archive.is/2EYeg having a monstrous appetite]], to the point he can be seen emptying a whole fridge.
* BlackSheep: Due to still being a practicing omnivore, he is considered this in comparison with his vegan [[http://archive.is/BpqH5 sisters]] and [[http://archive.fo/6OSe7 mother]].
* BornUnlucky: He's never had any success in his life; his dad bailed on the family and left them in debt, his first girlfriend and crush dumped him when they became vegan, he's regularly mistreated by the vegan characters, and always treated as being wrong([[SmarterThanYouLook even when he's right]]).
* BreakTheHaughty: Whenever he gets too cocky (which is basically every time he appears), he usually gets a harsh wake up call, that leaves him [[TheChewToy rebuked, ridiculed, mistreated, or physically injured]] by the [[DesignatedHero protagonists]]. Although in many cases, it's less justified when [[JerkassHasAPoint he has a stronger, valid argument]] and the narrative just punishes him [[TheComplainerIsAlwaysWrong for being an omnivore and daring to have the opposite opinion of everyone else ]].
* TheBully: Supposedly bullied vegans alongside Dolly before her HazyFeelTurn. In practice, he's more likely to be a victim, what with the vegans making fun of him or outright assaulting him on a regular basis.
* ButtMonkey: [[ExaggeratedTrope And how!]] He gets the most amount of abuse out of all the "carnists." Just to give a brief sampler: he's been assaulted by the vegans for affronts that range from "saying something wrongheaded" to "giving Sterk an excuse to be apathetic," had most of his dinner stolen by the vegans for refusing to eat fake meat, got fat and sick [[ItMakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext trying to show up Lilith by eating more meat]], was made a mockery of for apparently being allergic to some vegan staple or another, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking failed a biology test for pointing out that humans are omnivores]] (if mainly because this [[InsaneTrollLogic apparently required making bizarre physiological claims and advocating "needless violence" without irony]]). Poor guy...
* CainAndAbel: As mentioned in Plausibell's section, he plays the Cain to her Abel. He is also a Cain towards [[CheerfulChild Cherry,]] his younger sister.
* ChewToy: [[http://s22.postimg.org/4mih5h99t/Look_How_Nonviolent.jpg This strip]] roughly sums up the entire apparent purpose of Shawn's existence.
* ChildishOlderSibling: Since the narrative portrays him as a ManChild due to being non-vegan, he is [[InformedFlaw often treated as being more immature than his younger sister]].
* ChivalrousPervert: Will perv on Legua, but he has [[http://archive.is/McVtu called out an unsolicited postcard depicting a naked woman with several babies,]] saying it objectified women. Being a DesignatedVillain, the narrative treats him as more of a HandsomeLech, even twisting the postcard incident to make him seem like a hypocritical ass.
%%* TheComplainerIsAlwaysWrong: Poor Shawn. He really should find a better group of friends.
* CostumeEvolution: His main outfit changes in each iteration of the comic.
* CrushBlush: Tends to get this around Legua, particularly when she gets close to him.
* DisappearedDad: His dad ditched the family after leaving them in debt, while running off with a younger woman.
%%* DisappointingOlderSibling: To Cherry, due to being a meat eater.
* DomesticAbuser: Major reason for his breakup with [[TokenMinority Lulu]] is that he supposedly "bullied" her into leaving with his [[TakeOurWordForIt "toxic" behavior]].
* DumbBlonde: Is one of the few blondes in the series, and Yerdian has outright described him as "stupid." He's always [[InformedWrongness treated by the narrative]] [[http://archive.is/RLeRM as being ignorant]] (even when [[SmarterThanYouLook he's actually right]]).
* EveryoneHasStandards: Downplayed; despite being portrayed as the idiotic antagonist of the strip, not even he [[http://archive.li/rfHLC took Cuntons' accusations against Kishna seriously]], though that was only after seeing how minor they were.
* {{Fanboy}}: Implied to be one of Franchise/{{Pokemon}} and Franchise/SuperMarioBros in [[http://archive.is/SsNsM this strip]], where the hallucinated Pirhana Plant says he has played way too much of both of those games.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Shawn is portrayed as the more foolish sibling compared to Brie/Plausibell, due to being a straw "carnist" whose only defense is that he just doesn't want to give up bacon.
* FreudianExcuse: Shawn hates veganism (or Yerdian [[InformedFlaw insists that he does]], anyhow) because he believes his sister converting his crush to it ruined his chances with her. His first girlfriend,[[TokenMinority Lulu]], also broke up with him when she joined Brie/Plausibell's cause.
* GreenEyedMonster:
** In one comic, it shows Shawn is jealous of Legua's [[TheGhost unseen crush]], [[http://pupavegan.deviantart.com/art/Real-men-eat-meat-531807328 Sanc]].
** He is also this to his sister, due to the fact that [[TheAce she's much more successful]] than him in life.
* HatedByAll: While all the non-vegans are disliked by the comic's narrative, [[ButtMonkey]] Shawn gets most of the hate and tends to suffer tons of abuse from the vegan characters. Downplayed to an extent, since his fellow omnivores aren't seen really mistreating him.
* HatesBeingAlone: Tried to keep Legua away from Plausibell and veganism due to fearing that she would leave him alone. Also, during the barn fire arc, he repeatedly tried to join in Legua and Dolly's conversation after they started ignoring him, indicating a need to have his presence recognized.
* HopelessSuitor: To Legua, due to the fact that she's a vegan, who distanced herself from him for being an omnivore, and being infatuated with Sanc.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He's willing to justify his meat-eating habits using religious arguments [[http://archive.fo/q4rTh even though he's an atheist]].
* IgnoredAesop: The lessons Shawn learns about veganism never stick. Most readers prefer it that way.
* InformedFlaw:
** He's described as being stupid, but never seems to do or say anything particularly stupid and in fact has a few academic awards in his bedroom.
** He's also described as lazy, but he [[https://pre00.deviantart.net/ddeb/th/pre/f/2018/102/b/0/_327__plants_have_feelings_by_pupaveg-dc8lxgn.jpg has the energy and motivation to do yard work]].
** Zigzagged for his alleged irrational hatred of vegans -- he does on occasion complain about the vegans, but has also told Cherry that he doesn't have a problem with veganism in itself; he just hates close-minded vegans.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He's [[DesignatedVillain framed]] as a selfish JerkAss, who doesn't care about animals or the planet just because [[http://archive.li/6L8yh he refuses to give up eating animal products]].
* KiddieKid: Even though he's supposed to be seventeen years old, he often is portrayed by the narrative as engaging in childish arguments and taunts when confronting the vegans. In one strip he is shown donning [[http://archive.vn/8KSG2 a pip and rattle]], due to the series treating anyone who drinks cow's milk as clinging to an infantile practice.
* LazyBum: [[WordOfGod Yerdian]] describes Shawn as being a lazy teen, [[http://archive.is/PTxTz who sits in front of his television all day eating chips and bacon.]] However, this trait is not [[InformedFlaw really displayed in the comics itself]]. In fact, he was shown [[https://pre00.deviantart.net/ddeb/th/pre/f/2018/102/b/0/_327__plants_have_feelings_by_pupaveg-dc8lxgn.jpg doing a large amount of yard work in one day,]] and still having the energy to climb a tree afterwards.
* LightIsNotGood: He's the only recurring blond male character (as contrasted with Rohit, Sterk, and the [[TheGhost off-screen]] Sanc, all of whom are dark-haired), tends to wear paler colors, and is meant to be viewed as this. However, non-vegan readers (and, for that matter, most vegan readers less militant than Yerdian) are more likely to view him as [[DesignatedVillain unjustly labeled a villain]] due to his dietary preferences.
* LimitedWardrobe: Averted in Vegan Artbook and Vegventures, where he was seen wearing multiple different outfits.
* LoveHurts: Just like everything else in his life, Shawn has been burnt hard in the love department. Both his girlfriend and crush rejected him after they became vegan, which [[FreudianExcuse contributed]] to his [[TakeOurWordForIt hatred]] of veganism.
* MistakenForGay: When Shawn was trying to troll Brie by showing off his new leather pants and coat, she responds by saying that he's trying to come [[http://archive.is/DInas out of the closet]].
* NeverMyFault: The narrative treats [[BornUnlucky Shawn]] blaming his [[TheAce older sister]] for [[TokenMinority Lulu]] breaking up with him as this, and not him "supposedly" bullying her when she converted to veganism.
* PetTheDog: Even though Shawn is continually treated as being [[InformedFlaw "morally bankrupt"]]- due to not being a [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotHeinous vegan]], he can from time to time show he cares about others and animals. A notable example is when he goes out for a ride, he made sure to dodge [[https://pre00.deviantart.net/ddeb/th/pre/f/2018/102/b/0/_327__plants_have_feelings_by_pupaveg-dc8lxgn.jpg a dog that was in his way]].
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain:
** Whenever [[TookALevelInJerkass the plot so demands]], he'll [[http://archive.is/cqx2Q display]] an EntitledToHaveYou attitude towards Legua, [[http://archive.is/EFHKR body-shame]] [[http://archive.is/JZKYp the female characters]] or [[http://archive.is/jXCGv compare]] them to [[TrademarkFavoriteFood bacon]], and otherwise act like a sexist creep. And then, there's the time when he panicked and got rid of an outfit because Brie/Plausibell insinuated that it [[MistakenForGay made him look gay]].
** In one case of InformedWrongness, Shawn's criticism about respecting people's choices and not forcing them into being vegan (by contrasting how some try to force gay people to be straight), is [[InsaneTrollLogic misconstrued]] as [[http://archive.is/ndAVk comparing systematic violence and destruction of the habitat to being gay]].
* ShonenHair: His hair is spikier than anything one could get in real life without copious amounts of hair gel.
* SiblingRivalry: With Plausibell, due to their differing diets.
* SiblingYinYang: As seen in Plausibell's entry, he has this dynamic with her.
* SleevesAreForWimps: His default outfit in Pupa Vegan purple edition sees him sporting a sleeveless shirt.
* SmugSnake: Tends to be smirking at the start of his appearances.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Bacon. Shawn will ''not'' shut up about the stuff, and considers its mere existence a reason to not go vegan.
* {{Troll}}: [[StrawLoser Shawn]] is sometimes shown trolling his sister and other vegans with comments ranging from talking about his love for meat to jokes poking fun at veganism. Predictably, he's invariably treated as being bad at it.
%%* VillainousCrush: Has one on Legua.
* WeUsedToBeFriends:
** He and Legua used to be very close, before the latter distanced herself from him after embracing veganism. Of course this being [[DesignatedVillain Shawn]], the narrative doesn't give him any sympathy for losing his bond with Legua due to being a "carnist".
** In addition, the fact that he and Dolly apparently used to bully vegans together ([[TakeOurWordForIt despite never doing so on-screen]]) implies that the two of them were ''also'' good friends before Dolly went vegan. That makes two friends he has lost to veganism, and no sympathy from any of the vegans. [[FreudianExcuse No wonder he seems to loathe veganism.]]
** His first girlfriend was [[TokenMinority Lulu]], who dumped him for after she was inspired by [[TheAce Plausibell]] to become vegan. While the narrative blames him solely for the breakup due to his alleged "toxic unsupportive" behavior, given how the later two cut ties with him after they were influenced by Plausibell, it's not hard to think he might be right.

!!Diva
[[quoteright:293:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/diva.jpg]]
Dolly's sister, a somewhat snobbish "carnist."

!!Tropes:
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Subverted; Diva at first was infatuated with [[YourTerroristsAreOurFreedomFighters Sanc]], due to him appearing to be busting human trafficking operations, but turned on him once she realizes he's an [[AnimalWrongsGroup animal liberator]].
* AlphaBitch: Depicted as this, due to being [[http://archive.is/fFunS a bit of a snob towards the vegans]]
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: Subverted, since while she is considered an antagonist, she is quite pretty. How evil she [[DesignatedVillain is up for debate.]]
* CainAndAbel: The Cain to Dolly's Abel, due to being a "carnist," and therefore, [[DesignatedVillain evil.]]
* CostumeEvolution: Like Shawn, she gets a new outfit with each new series, or color change during Pupa Vegan.
* DramaQueen: While the narrative treats her as one, the defining instance of this trait is when she says that [[http://archive.is/gm09m she still got iron deficiency]] from doing a vegan diet right. While in RealLife this would indicate an issue with processing non-heme iron, this is treated as this trope rather than an actual health issue.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Eats meat and works on a meat farm (which is treated as evil by the narrative), and she doesn't like animal liberators, yet she does feel sorry for the animals who died during the barn fire arc.
* EvilRedhead: The most prominent redhead in the series and is [[DesignatedVillain designated as a villain]] for being an omnivore.
* FarmBoy: Gender inverted; Diva works on her uncle's animal farm, despite not looking the part. She's never seen working on it on screen, however.
* TheFashionista: Diva cares deeply about her looks, and always looks nice.
* FriendlyEnemy: Although usually one sided on her part, out of all the [[DesignatedVillain "carnists"]] she is often the most friendly towards the vegans, and at times can be empathetic towards them.
* TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry: While Dolly is a vegan that looks down on "carnists," Diva is an omnivore that would really like the vegans to leave her alone.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: The narrative treats her describing [[http://archive.is/tEYQ4 all the meat and egg based food]] she had while [[GranolaGirl Legua]] is listening-[[TenderTears which drives her to tears]], as this since she's an avid vegan.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Like every [[StrawCharacter non-vegan]] in the series, she is portrayed as being inherently selfish in comparison with the [[InformedKindness vegans]]. [[http://archive.fo/w44fN In one strip]], she greedily muses that if she won the lottery she would spend it on luxurious things for herself, in contrast with [[TokenMiniMoe Cherry]], who dreams of [[SelflessWish opening up a sanctuary to rescue animals]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While she is painted to be a [[DesignatedVillain villain]], many of the comic's detractors find her to be a good person at heart, even if she can be a bit snobby and rude. It also helps that she often decries the wrongs facing the world (even though the comic treats her as a StrawHypocrite for not being [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotHeinous vegan]]), and tries to find some middle ground with the vegan characters.
* LadyInRed: Was shown wearing red in the Vegventure comics.
* LovableAlphaBitch: An ''unintentional'' example; while the narrative sees her as a bona fide AlphaBitch, the comic's critics see her as a likeable character, simply for calling out the vegans when they spew crap. Sometimes she tries to extend an olive branch to them or even shows interest in the welfare of animals. One example includes where she actually tries to console Dolly after hearing about the fire trend, [[http://archive.is/YOBoB then states that meat eaters do care about animals and that she hoped that someone could have rescued the livestock that was burned in the fire]].
* MakeUpIsEvil: Wears a lot of [[https://archive.is/3fMLR non-vegan]] makeup.
* MeaningfulName: Diva is seen as a bit of a drama queen.
* NeverBareheaded: Always seen wearing a large red one in Vegventures, and ambiguously colored ones in Pupa Vegan.
* PeerPressureMakesYouEvil: One of the reasons why Diva says she wouldn't go vegan is due to not wanting [[https://archive.is/3fMLR to be judged by her friends]].
* ShipTease: She at first fangirled over [[WalkingShirtlessScene Sanc]] for his looks (and seemingly being an anti-human trafficker), until he reveals he's actually an [[AnimalWrongsGroup animal liberator]] and she turns on him.
* SitcomArchNemesis: Has a great distaste for Lilith's [[http://archive.is/Plwtx snarky attitude]].
%%* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: For her sister before her HazyFeelTurn.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: To play up her DesignatedEvil act of being a meat-eater, she's commonly seen eating burgers.

!!Cuntons/Maura Clemmons
[[quoteright:183:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cuntons.jpg]]

Used to be named Cuntons, but became a straight up FictionalCounterpart of Maura Clemmons, a woman that was allegedly accused of stalking the author. An ugly (later upgraded to average looking) "carnist" who apparently has stalked Plausibell on the internet in an attempt to get her to quit talking about veganism, [[TakeOurWordForIt not that we ever see any evidence of this.]]

!!Tropes:
%%* ArchEnemy: To Plausibell and later the author, when she just became a straight up FictionalCounterpart.
* TheBusCameBack: After not appearing for a while, a [[http://archive.is/ksFWN silhouette]] of what looks like Cuntons/Clemmons shows up in a strip that talks about Yerdian's encounter with trolls and her [[AmbiguousSituation alleged stalker]]. Given the story behind the very existence of the character (suffice to say that a WoundedGazelleGambit was involved), this was likely deliberate.
* CountryMatters: It's right in her former name, no doubt put there by a salty Priya.
* CruellaToAnimals: Wears a hat made of a wolf's head [[ForTheEvulz because she irrationally hates wolves]].
* EvilMakesYouUgly: She has bad skin, discolored and bucktoothed teeth, jaundiced eyes, an odd nose, and a potbelly. The discoloring, bad skin, and weight are implied to be the result of eating meat; her nose and buckteeth ''can't'' be attributed to that, so they're more likely just products of [[TakeThat Yerdian's spite]]. However, see below for ProgressivelyPrettier, where she becomes less hard on the eyes.
* FatSlob: Did you think being an overweight "carnist" would be shown in a positive light in the freaking ''Webcomic/VeganArtBook? However, when she is reintroduced into the series, she has slimmed down quite a bit.
* FictionalCounterpart: Originally thought to just be based on Maura, she is revealed to have been upgraded to this when she is no longer called Cuntons and just her real life version's name.
* ForTheEvulz: The only reason given for why she supposedly hates wolves.
* {{Gonk}}: See the above entry on EvilMakesYouUgly.
* HateSink: No doubt intended to be one. Ironically, she's actually become a bit of an EnsembleDarkHorse to the webcomic's critics.
* InformedAttribute: Described as loving cats, but never seen with one.
* KindheartedCatLover: Loves cats, even though she's never seen with one on-screen. Since we can't [[DesignatedVillain have a sympathetic "carnist" anywhere in the]] Webcomic/VeganArtBook, this is twisted to make her a hypocritical specieist.
* MeaningfulName: Her former fictional counterpart's last name was supposed to be an accurate description of her character, unless one actually believes in Yerdian's account.
* ProgressivelyPrettier: When she [[http://archive.li/xSPMM finally made her official debut]] in Pupa Vegan, she had lost her acne, odd eyes, and pot belly.
* RunningGag: A new running gag with her is her trying to disprove Yerdian's credibility with weak substance, which is based on real (but distorted) arguments commonly seen against her.
* SuddenNameChange: In the Pupa Veg books, she was changed from [[CountryMatters Cuntons]] to her real life counterpart's name.
* StalkerWithoutACrush: According to her earlier character profiles, she stalked and hacked Brie/Plausibell in order to stop her vegan activism. However, none of this is shown in comic, and it comes off as an InformedFlaw. When she's later introduced as the FictionalCounterpart of Priya's alleged stalker, she focuses her attentions on her.

!!Chanel
[[quoteright:373:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chanel_4.png]]

A "carnist" classmate of Legua and Dolly that appeared in ''Vegventures'' and has since dissappeared from the comic.

!!Tropes
* AlphaBitch: Except for the looks department, she plays this trope very straight when [[ShowDontTell it's actually demonstrated on-screen]].
* EvilMakesYouUgly: Pimply and bucktoothed.
* HateSink: Like Cuntons, she is very much intended to be one (including being a big racist and lacking empathy for others). This is best displayed in the barnfire arc, where in contrast with [[LadyInRed Diva]] sympathizing with the vegans (and showing concern over the animals), she [[LackOfEmpathy cares little for the livestock that died in the fire]] and [[https://www.dropbox.com/s/n8d1fc0yuxf35ut/Stalbranden%20comic%20PDF.pdf?dl=0 believes their existence is to serve the purposes of mankind, otherwise they are worthless]]. In addition to that, she is depicted as a [[HardDrinkingPartyGirl hedonistic party girl]] who has SkewedPriorities.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Described as only thinking about herself, while dismissing others' suffering (both animal and human). This can be been seen during the barnfire trend arc, where she couldn't care less about the animals that died and is more concerned about a party she is going to get drunk at.
* InformedFlaw: She is supposed to be racist and unsympathetic towards the downtrodden, but she has never actually displayed any of those traits on-screen, except for the latter in the barnyard fire comics-where she doesn't care about the fate of the barnyard animals killed and believes they are worthless if they don't serve humans. She even in one strip pointed out how [[http://archive.is/IHGz0 it wasn't feasible for poor people to maintain a vegan diet]].
* LackOfEmpathy:
** [[TakeOurWordForIt According to Yerdian]], she was heartless enough to balk at a charity fighting child labor and declare,
--->''' [[http://archive.fo/zlBee I don't care little children have to work themselves to death! If that makes my coat and t-shirts even 1 euro cheaper, it's worth it! Fuck petitions against child slave labor!]] '''
** The best seen on-screen example is her callous reaction to the animals killed in the fires.
--->''' [[https://www.dropbox.com/s/n8d1fc0yuxf35ut/Stalbranden%20comic%20PDF.pdf?dl=0 Nope! They're just animals. They exist to serve me and other humans. That is their only purpose. Otherwise, they are useless pieces of shit that might as well not exist.]]'''
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: She is described as a racist, who "mocks foreigners unprovoked" (especially Muslims and black people). However, so far in the comics, [[InformedFlaw this has never been seen]].
* RichBitch: Given her [[InformedFlaw "supposed" obsession with clothes and the latest phones]], she seems to be from a well-off family.
* SkewedPriorities: In the barn fire arc, she was more concerned about getting to a party to get drunk than the animals dying in the fire.

* {{Hypocrite}}: Doesn't allow Rohit's cat to eat a burger (citing it's unhealthy for it), but feeds it to her son.
* MaternallyChallenged: Downplayed. While she is a nice person, she still fed her children an unhealthy diet.

!!Tropes
* BigEater: He eats of lot of processed food that contributes to his weight.
* DisappearedDad: His father isn't mentioned anywhere.
* FatSlob: His large build is said to come from him being a slovenly BigEater.
* {{Gonk}}: In contrast with his [[BigBeautifulWoman sister]], his heftiness is depicted as grotesque; he's wider than he's tall, shapeless, gelatinous-looking, and has a nose resembling a pig's snout.
* MommasBoy: He's very coddled by his mother, as a result eats whatever she gives him.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: He shares his sister's heftiness and love of [[BigEater junk food]].

!!Alice Natanya Moore
[[quoteright:158:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alice_19.jpg]]

The fictional depiction of Alice Natanya Moore, who led an online campaign against Sonia Sae for putting Jumaji the Fennec Fox on a vegan diet. She wears glasses and a tag on her head that says something differently in each book. She is often seen throwing tantrums when arguing with the vegans.

!!Tropes
* ArchEnemy: To Sonia Sae, based on the real feud between them.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: In contrast with how cute the fictional counterpart of Sonia Sae is depicted, Alice's is much more kiddish and plain.
* BackFromTheDead: After being [[http://archive.li/wsU4d unceremoniously dumped into a meat grinder,]] she is seen in future comics no worse for the wear.
* TheComplainerIsAlwaysWrong: Just like with Shawn and the other vegans, she is automatically treated as being wrong because she's non-vegan. Her campaign against Sonia Sae is treated as vicious slander based on baseless claims of abuse, when she has good reasons to be concerned about someone feeding a carnivorous animals a vegan diet, which could potentially put their health at risk.
* EvilIsPetty: The "supposed" reason for her campaign again Sonia Sae is she lost an argument about veganism against her. Due the narrative's moral stance, this makes her an example of this trope.
* FictionalCounterpart: She's an unflattering caricature of the real Alice Natanya Moore.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: She regularly wears glasses and is an omnivore, which makes her automatically [[DesignatedEvil "evil"]] in the comic's point of view.
* MaliciousSlander: In her character page in Pupa Vegan Purple, she is described as spreading [[TakeOurWordForIt "fake news"]] against Sonia Sae for abusing her pet Jumanji by feeding him a vegan diet, just to get back at her for losing an argument about veganism.
* ManChild: She's constantly portrayed as throwing tantrums like a little kid when she is arguing with the vegan characters.
* SpeechImpediment: She puts random "W"s into her words, sometimes [[ElmuhFuddSyndwome in the place of "L"s]], but more often just randomly, such as "insulting" turning into "inswulting". This is probably just another attempt to make her seem childish.
* UnexplainedRecovery: Even though her first debut has her being put through a meat grinder by [[SerialKiller Sterk]], she still shows up alive in later strips.

* FascinatingEyebrow: He does this [[http://archive.li/DeyOh when arguing with vegans,]] most likely to show his [[SmugSnake smugness]] before his arguments are shot down.
* FriendlyEnemy: [[http://archive.li/r3RJR He has zero problems with veganism in general.]]
* KindheartedCatLover: Mentions he has [[http://archive.li/r3RJR no problem with the vegans]], and is once portrayed as [[https://archive.fo/qSdpn liking cats]].
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: His hair is slightly longer than shoulder length, in contrast with his brother's short hair.
* MyFutureSelfAndMe: He regularly interacts (and argues) with his older self.
* NiceGuy: Perhaps the nicest character in the comic. He rarely loses his temper, and explicitly states that [[http://archive.li/r3RJR he has no problem with the vegans.]] The worst he does is occasionally act vaguely smug and, of course, [[DesignatedEvil eat meat.]]

!!"Nadia" Bindiya

!!Tropes
* BitchInSheepsClothing: In contrast with how [[InformedKindness Brie/Plausibell and Legua]] are unintentional examples, Bindiya is supposed to be a [[InformedWrongness straight one]], due to believing one can [[http://archive.fo/gaO1s cherish all life and still be a meat eater]]. From a non-extreme vegan meta view, this label can be seen as unwarranted.
* ChurchgoingVillain: She is an omnivore who is devoutly religious, the former of which makes her a villain by the standards of the series.
* FacialMarkings: A single dot on the forehead.
* FriendlyEnemy: Like Diva, she tries to be friendly with the vegans, but they treat her with contempt due to her status as a omnivore.
* UsefulNotes/{{Hinduism}}: Implied, given her facial mark, which appears to be a bindi, and her use of the greeting [[http://archive.is/KQu30 "namaste."]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: Since she says she values all life, yet still eats animal products, she is portrayed as this.
* LastNameBasis: Her full name is Nadia Bindiya, but she's only referred to as Bindiya in the comics, with her first name [[AllThereInTheManual only revealed in a DeviantArt comment.]]
* NiceGirl: From a different perspective, she would be considered a straight example, especially since she tries to be friendly with [[AnimalWrongsGroup the vegans]]. However, since she condones [[DesignatedEvil animal slaughter]], she is treated as a BitchInSheepsClothing.
* SugaryMalice: In contrast with [[InformedKindness Brie/Plausibell]], she is treated like a straight example due to being a [[NiceGirl sweet girl]] who doesn't condemn animal slaughter.
* TokenMinority: She's the only non-Caucasian member of the omnivores.
%%* TokenReligiousTeammate: For the omnivores.
* TwoferTokenMinority: She is Indian, female, and implied to be a practicing non-vegan Hindu.

* EvilUncle: From the lenses of the series, he's this to [[GranolaGirl Dolly]], who is a vegan. This is subverted for Diva, who is still an omnivore and works on his farm.
* {{Greed}}: He's framed as greedy due to claiming he "send[s animals] off to slaughter for $$$ and rip[s] babies away for their mothers to kill them for more $$$" and wearing a dollar sign pendant.
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: His wife and child are killed in front of his eyes, just because TheSociopath he was talking to wanted to make a cruel point to him about it being okay to slaughter animals, since they are treated like family.
* PimpDuds: Is dressed as a pimp in the series, in order to portray the dairy industry as comparable to [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil sexual exploitation.]]

!!Tropes:
* AxCrazy: A very interesting example; he will kill a "carnist" at the drop of a hat. Thing is, he never raises his voice or anything when he does this. He is just eerily calm and controlled.

* DarkIsNotEvil: Supposed to be this. His tendency to murder those who don't agree with him tends to make him [[DarkIsEvil the opposite]] to readers.

* KarmaHoudini: Nothing is ever done about his horrible actions against non-vegans and on one occasion, pets, even if they [[EveryoneHasStandards disturbed his vegan friends]].
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Confirmed as a demon in [[http://archive.fo/rDra4 Pupa Vegan Black 451]], where he is one of Satan's minions and is out to destroy humanity.
* PointyEars: Like Lilith, he sports a pair after his reappearance.
* PutOnABus: He stopped appearing for a long while, after "Veganventures" began. See TheBusCameBack entry.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: He has red eyes and is definitely a dangerous fellow to hang out with.
* SerialKiller: In his Pupa Vegan Purple character page, it's even stated that he's a "ruthless serial killer", who uses any excuse to kill people. His favorite targets being omnivores, because he can use their arguments against them.
* TheSociopath: Again, he calmly murders people who disagree with him. Why isn't this guy in jail?
* TokenEvilTeammate: Counts as this for the vegans, since he is not actually vegan, which is the [[MoralMyopia main thing that makes a character good in this universe]]. There's also the fact that he kills people, but the comic tends to gloss over that.
* TroubledButCute: Fits every criteria of the archetype, although due to his violent tendencies he can be consider a dark version of this type of character.
* WouldHurtAChild: As seen with the murder of Uncle Pimples's family, children are not exempt from his bloodlust.

!!Scourge
A Grim Reaper like figure, who appeared in "Vegventures". He's supposed to be the incarnation of the meat industry.

!!Tropes
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: He's meant to represent the meat industry, and all of its [[InformedWrongness "supposed"]] evils.
* CardCarryingVillain: Being a [[StrawCharacter straw incarnation]] of the meat industry, he openly revels in talking about how much he loves abusing animals and brainwashing people to be omnivores from childhood.
* TheCorrupter: Playing to the series' stance on children being raised as omnivores, Scourge is portrayed as corrupting them into eating meat.
* EvilGloating: He gleefully boasts usual straw omnivore talking points in order to betray him as a villain.
* TheGrimReaper: It's even [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] by Brie/Plausibell in his first appearance.
* Really700YearsOld: He's said to be around for centuries. Justified since animal agriculture has been a thing since man became civilized.

* AmbiguousGender: Its sex is never stated.
* NoNameGiven: The cat is unnamed.
* ThievingPet: Defied -- it once tried to steal a burger, but Elise snatched the burger away, saying that the burger was bad for it.
