!!Bob "Moviebob" Chipman / The Game Overthinker
A self-proclaimed "Z-list internet celebrity", Bob Chipman is a video game and movie critic, known as the Game Overthinker, making videos that offer constructive commentary on the video game industry and community at large. His series takes a turn midway through into AffectionateParody sketches where he is recruited by Commissioner Bunnyface to help fight video game characters that begin spawning in the real world, as well as fighting against other superpowered"Thinkers".
* AdvertisingCampaigns: The Overthinker flips out when he watches an Activision advert featuring Oliver North, an American soldier he considers to be a war criminal.
** Also happened when he watched Nintendo's "I am Not A Gamer" campaign, but it caused him to realise you don't have to be a "gamer" to enjoy video games.
** Bob actually launched his own, advertising his book "Super Mario Bros. 3: Brick By Brick" which is essentially a LetsPlay in written format of Super Mario Bros. 3.
* AngstNuke: Nearly has one after watching the "I am Not A Gamer" and nearly falls into DespairEventHorizon until Retrothinker lampshades that he shouldn't copy WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic.
* AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: Becomes a being of consciousness in the big finale.
* AuthorAppeal: Likes all things Asian.
* BerserkButton: He hates what he views as hardcore gamers, the "douchebag" generation introduced with the Playstation (although he likes the console), Xbox Live trolls, Creator/MichaelBay (but has since come to view him in a more favourable light), and any movies that do terrible jobs of adapting comic books to the big screen or make painfully immoral choices in their casting or stories.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Video game characters and elements begin to do this after the debut of the Anti-Thinker, Bob interacting with familiar faces like the bald guy from Rygar.
* CerebusSyndrome: Some fans feel this way about the change in tone of the Overthinker when the Anti-Thinker plot was introduced, with the satirical story arcs apparently spoiling the seriousness of the Overthinker's topics.
** Lampshaded by Bob himself in the form of Strawman.
* CoolSword: Forges one from Anti-Metal to combat Pyrothinker and Cryothinker.
* CreatorThumbprint: His love for Nintendo, Mario, and retro gaming, habit of calling people he dislikes "douchebags", and his nostalgia for the 1980s.
* CurbStompBattle: Gets his ass handed to him by Robothinker.
* DarkerAndEdgier: In some of his Overthinker episodes when it came to more serious topics.
* DisneyDeath: Killed by the Anti-Thinker via a TorsoWithAView and fake blood, but is resurrected by Princess Rosalina. In the Robothinker arc, he was meant to have died by the Anti-Thinker's hands which would have led to the end of the world, but it was averted by the Omega Thinker.
* DullSurprise: After encountering his evil twin, elemental ninjas, and video game zombies, the appearance of a time traveller from the future and a renegade, apocalyptic robot has little effect on his sense of disbelief. The Omega Thinker lampshades this, and Bob responds with "It's been an interesting couple of months."
* ElementalPowers: The Overthinker uses the Fire and Ice Flowers to use fire and ice attacks. He tries using the elemental gems he collects against Robothinker but they fail. These powers come with an InstantCostumeChange.
* TheExile: Unwillingly depowered and exiled to Wario's Woods by the Anti-Thinker. He trains himself in the wild and battles his nemesis to take back his show.
* FanBoy: Tries to ascend beyond this trope and looks down on the "hardcore gamers" who he perceives as gamers who want games to belong only to them and no change at all. Bob is unabashedly a fanboy of Nintendo and Mario, though he does point out the flaws of both.
* FastForwardGag: When it comes to large amounts of exposition that needs to be explained, Bob often resorts to playing a sped-up narration to cram it all in.
* GuileHero: Willing to cheat, compromise, and fight dirty to stop his enemies.
* HarmlessFreezing: Frozen by Cryothinker on two separate occasions.
* TheHerosJourney: Goes through this in the Anti-Thinker arc.
* HeroicBSOD: When he learns his favourite fictional video game arcade, the Sharkcade, was destroyed by Pyrothinker.
* HollywoodNewEngland: Occasionally, his Boston accent will pop up.
* ImplicitPrison: The Overthinker and Ivan are placed under house arrest by Commissioner Bunnyface and Senator Lieberson.
* KilledOffForReal: Briefly murdered by the Anti-Thinker only to be resurrected by divine intervention. He was supposed to die in the original timeline of the Omegathinker's history, only to be saved by his pink-haired descendant. Killed again in Episode 98 by the Ultrathinker and sent to hell, but returns yet again.
* LaserBlade: Uses a lightsaber Wii weapon to fight the Anti-Thinker. Turns out to be a dud thanks to Wario.
* NostalgiaFilter: Has a huge love for the 1980s and early 1990s, particularly when it comes to video games, comics and movies. He is a fan of Franchise/SuperMarioBros, Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda, VideoGame/Kirby, VideoGame/Metroid, Franchise/MegaMan, and old school arcade games.
* OccidentalOtaku: A fan of Japanese culture, including Kaiju, HumongousMecha, and anime.
* PacmanFever: A huge fan of video games released in the 80s like Mario, Zelda, and Megaman.
* ProudToBeAGeek: As it says on his blog's banner.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Has a habit of doing this to anyone who he hates or disagrees with, usually hardcore gamers, and the "douchebag" generation of gamers introduced with the Playstation and Xbox Live, though most of the time he tries to justify his reasonings. Called out for his scathing of entire parts of society.
* RhymesOnADime: Averted in an attempt to write a song whilst being housebound.
* RunningGag: Sees Creator/ShigeruMiyamoto and Princess Rosalina as gods.
* StrawCritic: He has a habit of making insulting generalizations against people he disagrees with or those who criticize his output.
* SuperMode: His Fire Thinker and Ice Thinker forms.
* SwordOfPlotAdvancement: His Anti-Metal sword.
* TakeThat: Does this a lot.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: Upon discovering Oliver North was promoting Call of Duty games.
* VigilanteMan: Hired by Commissioner Bunnyface to kill the video game monsters that appear in town.
* WildMassGuessing: Believes Princess Rosalina is god of the Mario universe.

!!Ivan the Intern
The Overthinker's intern, his accountant's son, and FairyCompanion. He helps out the Overthinker and may backup his boss' points. He can be witty and bothered by the Overthinker's attitude, but remains dedicated to helping his employer. He finds Navi attractive, despite being an obvious parody of her.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Episode 76 was a Q&A dedicated to Ivan. Happens again when he becomes the host for Episode 83, teaming up with Dr. Beardo, whilst the Overthinker is fighting his enemies.
* AscendedExtra: Appeared initially only in one episode but now serves as secondary protagonist in the Overthinker's story arcs.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: "Are there any civilizations that eat faeries as a delicacy?" *SmashCut to a land wreathed in flames* Ivan: Not anymore.
* DeadpanSnarker: A master of it, usually to point out plotholes in the show's story arcs.
* ExpositionFairy: Provides details on the more fantasy-based elements of the mythos.
* Expy: Of Navi.
** Lampshaded by Ivan.
--> Ivan: If you read my name backwards, it's a reference to something!
* FairyCompanion: Bob's intern and sidekick.
* HiddenDepths: Reveals he finds Navi attractive, apparently dated Tinkerbell, and is a Brony.
* NonHumanSidekick
* SdrawkcabName: Navi spelled backwards if the quote above doesn't explain it.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Occasionally refers to himself in third person when excited, emotional, or drunk ("Ivan wants more Stafy!")

!!Commissioner John Bunnyface
TheCommissionerGordon. Commissioner Bunnyface (it's "Bonifacio") is the chief of police in Boston and the Overthinker's FriendOnTheForce. Oh, and he's a rabbit. Played by Dylan, the pet rabbit of Chris' girlfriend.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Hosts Episode 92 "Pink Rising" after Bob and Retrothinker go into a month long HeroicBSOD following Wrestling/TheUndertaker getting a CurbStompBattle at Wrestlemania.
* ByTheBookCop: Despite living in a world of elemental superhumans and video game monsters, Bunnyface follows the law to the letter.
* TheCommissionerGordon: A parody of the character.
* DaChief: The chief of the Boston police force. And a rabbit.
* FriendOnTheForce: Possible averted at the end of Episode 85, when Bunnyface and Senator Lieberson's men break into the Overthinker's house to arrest Retrothinker upon realising he was the Necrothinker and more importantly that the Overthinker lied to him.
* Pronunciation: His name is apparently pronounced "Bonifacio". Also a RunningGag.
* ReluctantRetiree: Forced from his job by Senator Lieberson then kidnapped.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Well, he is a rabbit.

!Superpowered Thinkers

!!The Anti-Thinker / Broseph
The Overthinker's EvilTwin, the Anti-Thinker comes from the Antiverse. He banishes the Overthinker to Wario's Woods and temporarily takes over his show. He is sent by his MysteriousEmployer to kill the Overthinker, leading to a climatic battle between the two. An idiotic douchebag, the Anti-Thinker loves all the things about gaming and culture that Bob hates. He appears as an identical twin of Bob, but his true form is a skull-faced humanoid with sickles for hands.
* AntiHero: Becomes this as of Episode 87, no pun intended.
* AbusiveParents: His father beat him after losing his job to a robot.
* BackFromTheDead: Revived by the Ultrathinker to get revenge on the Overthinker, but he is killed quickly by the Omega Thinker. He returned again as of Episode 87, busts Retrothinker out of confinement to aid Bob, becoming his reluctant ally.
* ChekhovsGun: His dollar medal is salvaged by the Overthinker and later forged into the hero's sword.
* CurbStompBattle: His fight with the Omega Thinker.
* DeathIsCheap: Comes back twice.
* TheDragon: To the Ultrathinker prior to his second defeat.
* EldritchAbomination: Revealed to be part monster, possessing another form of a skull-faced creature with sickles for hands. Turns out this is the normal form for everyone in the Antiverse.
* EvilTwin: Initially introduced as the EvilOverlord of the Antiverse but the 2013 Year's End special revealed this wasn't true. He actually reviews Series/GilmoreGirls fanfiction to his own shame.
* FatBastard: Fat and an asshole.
* GenreBlindness: His lack of knowledge regarding pop culture and tropes make him vulnerable to several of the Overthinker's attacks and references.
* HeelFaceTurn: Takes one in Episode 87, freeing Retrothinker from prison and going with him to the Overthinker's house after the Ultrathinker destroyed the Antiverse.
* HeroKiller: Was meant to have been had the Omega Thinker not intervened.
* HiddenDepths: He knows a surprising amount about the French Revolution.
-->Anti-Thinker: Yeah. I know stuff.
** As early as his second appearance, he was already presenting his analysis of fantasy escapism as a coping mechanism for nerds who feel marginalized by mainstream society, albeit couched in his simplistic and derogatory language. His anti-intellectualism is mostly an affectation; as the Overthinker's counterpart he could hardly be genuinely stupid. He's the Antithinker not because he's anti-thinking, but because he's the Thinker from the Antiverse.
* JerkAss: Portrayed initially as a sexist, homophobic douchebag to serve as an evil counterpart to Bob, who hates everything he loves, preferring first person shooters (i.e. Call of Duty) to the likes of Bob's favourite Nintendo games. He mellows out in later appearances, becoming more of a misinformed dufus.
* KilledOffForReal: Twice.
** KillItWithFire: Incinerated by the Overthinker using a Fire Flower.
** HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Sliced to pieces and then blown up by the Omega Thinker after his brief resurrection.
* LastOfHisKind: Becomes this after the Ultrathinker destroys the Antiverse.
* LazyBum: Spent most of his time sitting on Bob's couching watching low budget violent films.
* MirrorUniverse: Comes from the Antiverse, where he is the counterpart of the Overthinker.
* TakeThat:
** A direct take that to the "douchebag audience" of pop culture that Bob openly despises.
** Episdoe 95 "The Antithinker Blabs" is a take-that against WebVideo/TheRageaholic.

!!Pyrothinker and Cryothinker / Plasma Thinker
A pair of colour-coded ninjas who attack and destroy game stores and arcades using their fire and ice-based powers. They use a fire gem and an ice gem. Not very bright.
* AnimateInanimateObject: Revealed to be made from living straw.
* AnIcePerson: Cryothinker.
* DumbMuscle: Bob compares them to Bebop and Rocksteady since they spend so much time celebrating their victory over the Overthinker rather than destroy him. Even the Anti-Thinker calls them both "dumber than a sack of doorknobs".
* EvilTwin: And there are two of them.
* ElementalPowers: Fire and ice respectively.
* FearfulSymmetry: They look identical aside from their different coloured clothes.
* FusionDance: Due to a botched teleportation device used by Dr. Beardo, the two brothers are summoned at the same, fusing together into Plasma Thinker. The Overthinker and his allies have a serious OhCrap moment.
* GratuitousNinja: Your traditional ninja albeit the colour coded outfits, referencing VideoGame/BadDudes.
* KilledOffForReal: Executed by Bob in combat until resurrected by Mr. Phibb. Defeated again by Bob's allies.
* PlayingWithFire: Pyrothinker.
* PutOnABus: Plasma Thinker is frozen by the Overthinker and sent to prison, until the brothers split and become Lieberson's bodyguards.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: It is revealed they are the sons of Strawman and one of the female ninjas from Franchise/MortalKombat, and they are out to avenge their father, destroying video arcades to mock Bob.
* TagTeamTwins
* ThemeTwinNaming: Based on their powers.

!!Retrothinker / Necrothinker
A 1980s counterpart to the Overthinker who hosted a TV show about video games. Excited to see how the video game industry would evolve in the 21st Century, he became a HumanPopsicle until the time was right. However, he was awakened early after Pyrothinker destroyed the Sharkcade and found the future to be terrifying. He is corrupted by the Ultrathinker and becomes Necrothinker, who summons an army of undead video game characters to destroy all of modern gaming. He is healed by the Overthinker and becomes his flatmate.
* AntiVillain: As Necrothinker, who is a corrupt Retrothinker refusing to deal with reality and instead resorts to resurrecting zombified forgotten game characters to comfort himself.

* CoolMask: As Necrothinker.

* TheFutureIsShocking: Retrothinker is horrified by what has happened to video games and considers suicide until the Overthinker arrives. Then he finds out what became of Sonic.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: As Necrothinker, he wants to destroy modern gaming by resurrecting forgotten retro characters, believing the medium has lost its way in the present day.
* HeroicBSOD: Upon discovering what happened to Sonic, parodying the ending of Franchise/PlanetOfTheApes.
* HumanPopsicle: Deliberately froze himself to awaken in 2025.

Bob and Ivan talked him down from committing suicide and Retrothinker left to find his place in the world, only to discover Sonic 06 and had a mental breakdown. The Ultrathinker than preyed on his nostalgia and hatred, transforming him into Necrothinker.

* SealedGoodInACan: Retrothinker is arrested and placed in a Cobalt Corp bunker until the authorities can figure out whether or not he truly destroyed Necrothinker. He is busted out by the Anti-Thinker.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: At first he is completely consumed by his darkness, but after being saved by the Overthinker, he can transform into the Necrothinker at will using the earth stone.
* ShadowArchetype: As Necrothinker, he serves as a dark mirror to Bob's love for nostalgia childhood video games and semi-disdain for modern gaming, wanting to destroy the industry using undead, forgotten video game characters.
* SupervillainLair: The Necro Tower, created from the remains of the Sharkcade. Tragically ironic, since Retrothinker recorded his TV show in the building's basement.
* TotallyRadical: Speaks using some 80s and 90s slang.
* TragicVillain: Froze himself to awaken in a world of wonder, only to find it is a CrapsackWorld, all of his hopes and dreams of an innovated video game golden age have been dashed, and discovering what became of Sonic leads to his corruption into Necrothinker. Made worse considering he uses long forgotten video game characters as zombies and the Sharkcade ruins as his supervillain base.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Retrothinker erases Necrothinker from his being, regarding him as a shadow for his hatred and grief.

Stealth bombers destroy his drone body, but he rebuilds himself a new body, reconnects himself to Xbox Live and goes Skynet on the world, bringing about the end of mankind.
