The Heavenly Orchestra.

In the first game, fine is the most formidable and so far undefeatable unit of Yumenosaki Academy. Led by the student council president, who possesses a transcendental charisma. The talents of the individual members are top-class.

In the second game, fine is an elegant unit affiliated with Star Maker Production. Led by Eichi Tenshouin, fine is a unit whose polished and polite fanservice allows them to take command of their audience. When doing work in media, they focus primarily on publicity work to improve the images of corporations. This includes appearing on some variety programs, and largely participating in talk shows, hosting official events, fashion modelling, appearing in things like commercials, and acting as the face of advertising campaigns.

The unit's theme color is [[ColorCodedForYourConvenience ivory]].

[[folder:In General]]
* AllLowercaseLetters: The name of the group is always written in lower case.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: They are this to all other units: ''no one'' can defeat "fine". Okay, they may, [[WorfHadTheFlu ''only'' if "fine" isn't fighting in full force]].
* AristocratTeam: fine, the elite number one idol group in school which is comprised of the heirs to two major corporations, the extremely competent butler to one of them, and a celebrity of the acting world. Prior to the main story, it was even more elite, with all but one unit member being a wealthy heir. However, Eichi noticed this and they decided to make their one 'normal' member the unit leader, because they wanted the unit to seem like a paragon of justice which would stand up for the rights of the downtrodden, and so wanted more of an underdog feel.
* FamedInStory: One of the biggest idol units in-universe, and stated to be one of the big 3 idol units to revolutionize the imo, industry in the second game, along with Eden and Knights.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble:
** Phlegmatic: Yuzuru.
** Sanguine: Wataru.
** Chloeric: Tori.
** Melancholic: Eichi.
* GoldAndWhiteAreDivine: they are usually associated with angelic motifs, and primarily use this colour scheme.
* LightIsNotGood: Played straight in the main story, in that they are the antagonists to [[TheProtagonist Trickstar]], and have an overall light imagery with white and light blue uniforms, not to mention three of their members having pastel hair colors (with their leader being platinum blonde). Subverted when we find out that most of fine's members don't actually have any villainous traits, with Eichi being a WellIntentionedExtremist at worst. That said, many horrible things happened as a result of Eichi's well-intentioned extremist qualities such as the [[spoiler: suicides of a number of students.]] However, given the nature of the story and the fact that the students that suffered through this are nameless, unseen characters, it's never treated as seriously as it should be in-story beyond a certain point.
* {{Motif}}: Angels, feathers, anything considered heavenly, likely attribute to the unit leaders motif overall. Eichi and Tori even appeared in an angel themed scout together.
* ThemeNaming: [[spoiler: The former fine members had a GenderBlenderName as all three had names that are, more often than not, usually reserved for girls.]]

->''"Ahh, I'm so excited. My heart is dancing. Indeed, it's almost like a miracle."''

Always smiling, Eichi is the student council president, making him the academy's most influential person. He had been hospitalized long-term due to his weak constitution. His family owns a large business and has connections in the entertainment world. He gets along well with his classmate Keito Hasumi, the student council vice president, due to the two families sharing a good relationship.

He has a benevolent soul and cares deeply for the academy and its students. While he's kind to those inside his circle, there's a side of him that is ruthless when it comes to outsiders. His body isn't in great shape, but his performance has a transcendental charm to it. A member of fine, the academy's most formidable unit.\

----
* AscendedFanboy: He was a long-time fan of [[spoiler:Wataru]] before performing in the same unit as him, and even before [[spoiler:bringing the latter's demise as one of the Five Oddballs]]. Eichi goes as far as calling him his hero, a person blessed with natural talent and good looks, who enjoys life to the fullest.
* TheAtoner: His reason for making Anzu the school's producer. He was aware that she's a BlitheSpirit and he figured that she would change the school's ways since his attempts to do so resulted in the Five Oddballs incident, distancing from Leo and him becoming TheDreaded.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Not only does his family rule the entertainment world, Eichi himself is Yumenosaki's student council president, who's also a member of "fine", the most powerful unit in the Academy and regarded as the school's top idol on his own. As evidence of his talent, the two units who have been shown to score against fine, Trickstar and Akatsuki, won by ''very'' thin margin and ''only because Eichi was not in top condition''. There's also Valkyrie whom had almost won against fine in the Milky Way event, losing because fine had more fans than Valkyrie since Valkyrie had been inactive in the Yumenosaki assigned lives for quite a while. Emperor, indeed.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Due to his sickly status leading to his lack of stamina, Eichi's most effective method of practice is this.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Anzu describes him as such in the light novel.
* BlackComedy: He often jokes about his own death, justifying it by saying that because his family doesn't usually live long, he's used to it.
* BreakThemByTalking: Eichi's favored method to bringing down the spirits of people; it's hinted that he did this to [[BreakTheHaughty Shu]] and Leo in the Marionette's memories event. He almost succeeded in doing it to Trickstar [[SpannerInTheWorks if not for Subaru and Anzu]] (in the game, as she doesn't appear in the manga).
* TheChessmaster: Big time.
** He didn't just orchestrate the Oddballs' demise. [[spoiler: He was also their ''creator'' of sorts, specifically so that he could crush them later]].
** He orchestrated the downfall of the Knights, [[spoiler: by making them so popular outside of the school that other units started to resent them and started to vote down for them in the Dream-Fes.]]
** And he's admitted that he's grooming Anzu into becoming a good producer who'll change the school's strict methods.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Akatsuki's Hasumi Keito.
* CombatSadomasochist: Not to quite that high of a level since Ensemble Stars has no actual fighting, but Keito calls him a hedonist, and his comments about "pain being a type of pleasure" to Leo imply that this might be the case.
* TheDreaded: Despite his attempts to treat her like a FriendlyEnemy, Anzu acts nervous, distrustful and somewhat cautious around him. "The Afternoon Emperor" story reveals she resents him for trying to disband Trickstar in the main story.
** HarsherInHindsight for those who played ''Ensemble Girls!'', [[spoiler: since Anzu was forced to transfer to Yumenosaki after her rebellion campaign at her old school failed partly because of the actions of Reika Enjouji, the student council president. It doesn't help that Reika is similar to Eichi.]]
* EatingTheEyeCandy: In "Daydream", his ADayInTheLimelight chapter in the novel, he's very detailed about describing the build of other characters (such as Yuzuru's "sexy mole", Wataru's "silver hair like moonlight" and Anzu's "lovely face"). Justified, since he has a huge complex about his frail, weakened body.
* EveryManHasHisPrice: He doesn't stray from using his money as means to buy off people, and in the Magicians Assemble event scout he seems to be a full believer of this trope, noting that people who say money doesn't buy affection simply don't know how to use it.
--> '''Eichi's thoughts''': Even in hell, [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney money makes a difference]].
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: This happens to him many times, as he's unable to understand pure-hearted motifs, since he believes everything is about scheming.
** He assumes Tsumugi stayed by his side on fine because of a contract and that he expected a compensation for even associating with him, such as [[EveryManHasHisPrice having his debts paid]] or exacting revenge on his mother (Eichi goes to the point of offering to use his contacts to strip Tsumugi's mother of custody, if Tsumugi wishes to do so), and so thinks nothing of [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness dismissing him and the other fine members after their part in the War is done]]. In reality, Tsumugi was doing it [[spoiler: because he saw Eichi as a ''friend'', and because he believed that the goals Eichi wanted to achieve would bring happiness to everyone]]. When Eichi realizes how important Tsumugi's support was, and that he could have had him as a loyal friend, it's already too late.
** When he meets Ritsu for the first time, he assumes that Izumi is keeping him with the Knights (called Chess at the moment) because he's related to [[TheAce Rei]]. Ritsu is offended and punches Eichi as a result.
* {{Expy}}: Rich? Check. Blonde hair? Check. Always formal? Check. A tea drinker and member of the tea club? Check. Student council president? Check. A childhood friend who's the vice-president? Check. A manipulative bastard who likes to talk in a flowery and dramatic way? Eichi's practically an ill version of Reika Enjouji from ''Ensemble Girls!''. Bonus points since both characters ruined someone else's life for the sake of the school (The Five Oddballs for Eichi, Anzu for Reika). And they enlisted the main character into their respective academies so they would change the academy's ways.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: We find this out big time when his thoughts are in the narration. To quote Rei in the main story:
--> '''Rei''': Tenshouin-kun wears quite the cute face like an angel, but he's cruel like a demon.
* FirstNameBasis: With the people he's close to, specifically his childhood friend Keito and fine members. [[spoiler:When Hokuto defected to fine in the main story, he also switched to his first name, and asked Hokuto to do the same with him]]. Curiously, he also refers to Chiaki by first name. This is eventually explained to be because he and Chiaki were friends as children, but both mostly forgot about it until later on during the game.
* FriendlyEnemy: Towards Anzu, Trickstar, The Oddballs, Leo... virtually a good two-third of the cast are/have been against him yet he welcomes with a smile, though sometimes accompanied by some threatening words. Anzu is the most obvious example in that he really doesn't see her as an enemy, despite them being on opposite sides and simply her presence having spoiled his plans to have Trickstar disband.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Eichi didn't have the power to fight the influence of the Five Oddballs at first. In Marionette's Memories, Shu actually [[UnderestimatingBadassery disregards Eichi]] and has full pride of Valkyrie's performance; his defeat soon follows, with many others then viewing Eichi in either fear or respect by the end of the "War".
* GracefulLoser: He takes his loss against Trickstar well, and even considers it a good experience. Though he understandably feels annoyed when Leo rubs it to his face.
* IAmAMonster: Or ''was'' anyway. He's aware of the many dreams he's devoured to stand where he is, and hence often refers to himself as a monster when talking about the past.
* InSeriesNickname: People usually call him [[RedBaron Emperor or Your Majesty, either in respect or fear]]... but Ritsu gets the credit for being the fearless one and giving him a special nickname: "Ecchan". Leo also calls him “Tenshi”.
* {{Jerkass}}: A rather mild one. Seeing that he still held compassion, as seen in PetTheDog.
** JerkassHasAPoint:
*** He rejected Chiaki's proposal of the Hero Show premise mentioned in the Hero Show gacha during the Supernova event. This may seem unnecessary till Eichi tells him that what Chiaki proposed would be seen as a stunt show, not an Idol-related live, and it'll simply drop down the image of RYUSEITAI as an idol group if he accepts it.
*** While him expelling the former fine members can be seen as harsh, he has a good reason to do so when one of the ex-members, Hiyori, is revealed to be a bigger jerk than resident {{Jerkass}} Izumi. Hiyori cares little about others whatsoever and hasn't really understood why Eichi threw him out of fine. Given that Izumi himself actually cares about Leo and the rest of the members of Knights in his own way plus a select few asides Makoto, that's saying a lot.
* LargeHam: He uses grandiose expressions in his speech often, which Tori believes is because of his association with Wataru.
* ManipulativeBastard:
** In the main story, his plan on bringing Trickstar to disband involves using what he knows against them. He baited Hokuto by having him join fine with the promise that his parents will finally be proud of him, having Makoto return to the modeling industry and had Mao affirm his loyalty to the student council. [[FailedASpotCheck Though he only failed with Subaru because he failed to realize that Subaru's love for money isn't monetary and failing to account Anzu's involvement]].
** And what he says to Shu after possibly sabotaging the already auto-tuned and recorded performance of Valkyrie.
--> '''Eichi''': Thank you for dancing the way I want you to.
** In the Quarrel festival event, he told Keito to get Akatsuki to disband. [[PetTheDog We will later know that this was his way to show that Keito no longer needs to support him and go for his own life]] in latter parts of the story, but it's still a very far-fetched and over the top way to show it.
** [[spoiler: He's the one who named and "created" the oddballs. This might seem harmless enough, but the kicker is his reason of picking that particular name: it's because "Five oddballs" (gokijin) sounds like cockroach (gokiburi), and by naming them that, it gives them the image of being inhuman, making it easier for them to be destroyed by him.]]
** How he orchestrated the Knights' fallout in the past: [[spoiler:by organizing many Dream-Fes with people outside of the school voting for the Knights (called Chess back at the time). After some weeks of success, Eichi made Dream-Fes inside the school. Meaning that the other units (who were losing thanks to Chess's success) will vote down for them. Afterward, Chess fell from grace and Leo couldn't take up the pressure anymore and left.]]
** In the 2016 Tanabata event, he baits Shu to let Valkyrie participate... by mentioning that he will destroy [[spoiler: Nazuna's current unit]] to its very core. [[JerkassHasAPoint Though in his defense, Valkyrie would have been disbanded if they don't take Yumenosaki issued lives]].
** In ''"Gunman"'' he decides to "train" Anzu so she could deal with her enemies and undesired people in the future. Said method consists of inviting her and most of the 3A class to an arcade. Said boys consist of Keito, Shu, Izumi, Chiaki, Kaoru and Eichi himself whom Anzu sees as TheDreaded.
* ObliviousGuiltSlinging: In the ''"Checkmate"'' prologue story, Leo does this to him by complimenting him on what a kind friend he is while Eichi knows he has to betray him.
* ObliviousToLove: Downplayed but one of his home screen dialogues with Wataru in Ensemble Stars!! mode has Wataru expressing jealousy over Eichi having a “lovely date” with Tori, before saying he, too, wishes to have a lovely date with him. Eichi responds by apologizing before saying he should go out somewhere with Wataru and Yuzuru next time as well.
* PassiveAggressiveKombat: Engages in this with Rei Sakuma in Eichi's Idol Story ''Teatime of Black and White''.
* PassingTheTorch: The "Mine Lady" story confirms that he eventually passes the title of student council president to Mao. He does this in Ensemble Stars!!
* PastExperienceNightmare: At the very least he's plagued with nightmares about his "War" efforts.
* PetTheDog: As questioning his actions was as the "Emperor", he actually cared about his fellow unit mates in the current fine. [[spoiler: (His older unit mates didn't care about him at all if the novel is any indication. Tsumugi actually treats Eichi like a friend, but the remaining two former fine members don't share Tsumugi's sentiments)]] He also holds his friendship with Keito in a high regard, and he is very close and open with Ritsu and Hajime, who are members of the Tea Club.
** According to his idol story ''Teatime of Black and White'', he works hard to ensure the futures of all of the units in ''Ensemble Square'', even if he would rather focus on his own idol activities.
* PrincelyYoungMan: Being the young heir to the influential Tenshouin family.
* PsychopathicManchild: Keito says he's "brimming with youthfulness" which to Kuro, is another word for childish. To the accusation, Eichi responds that an Emperor is basically a child with power.
* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: Is very unfamiliar with the stuff commoners do. In the mall live, he mentioned that he had never actually gone to a mall before and had to look up information on what a mall is. Once he gets to the mall he practically acts like a very curious 5-year old. In the gunmen scout story, he never even went to an arcade before either.
* SanitySlippage: Not that he's insane, but in the end of the 2016 Tanabata event, he gets excited at the thought of Valkyrie almost winning against fine, and started talking about things he had done and achieved through the "War". It took a GetAHoldOfYourselfMan from Wataru to calm him down.
* SomeoneHasToDoIt: His view on doing constant work to ensure the futures of all the units in Ensemble Square seems to amount to this, overlapping a bit with PetTheDog as he doesn’t necessary he ''have'' to do it, as it’s safe to assume that fine would likely survive the damage if the other units and offices were to fall.
* ShipTease: Most prominently with Wataru.
* StepfordSmiler: Eichi is not as happy as he appears to be, and two of the main reasons would be his terminal state and the fact that he stayed in the hospital for a long time, experiencing unpleasant experiences.
* TaremeEyes: It matches her gentle and cordial exterior.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: When he became student council president, the academy was in shambles and its reputation at rock bottom. The actions Eichi took to restore it were incredibly ruthless and ruined a great many lives, even if it succeeded in restoring the academy's reputation. He does regret them now, though.

Fickle and elusive, Wataru lives in his own peculiar world and is one of the "Three Oddballs." His speech and actions are theatrical at all times, and the Theater Club members are victims of his erratic behavior. Because he often wears a mask, the members call him "Masked Freak."

Even though he's eccentric, his talent for singing and acting are undoubted, so a lot of fans gather at his plays and live shows. He is a member of fine, the academy's most formidable unit.\

* AttentionWhore: Not to the same extent as [[SpoiledBrat Tori]], but he likes to get attention from others.
* BrokenPedestal: [[spoiler: Tomoya is revealed to have been impressed by his acting when he sneaked into Yumenosaki academy with Shino during the Marionette's memories event. It's an {{Understatement}} to say that he is disappointed at Wataru's oddness.]]
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Despite how dramatic and weird he is, Wataru is actually as good with performing as one has to be to be in what's considered the strongest unit of the Academy. Dancing, singing, instrument playing, you name it. [[VoiceChangeling He can even imitate someone's voice]] and do magic tricks as a bonus.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "Amazing!" Note that it has an {{Engrish}} tone as he speaks his catchphrase.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: As befitting of one of the Three Oddballs, Wataru is an eccentric young man who seems to live in his own world.
* CoatCape: When wearing his school uniform, he tends to wear his blazer on his shoulders. Given his LargeHam personality and love of theater, it's only fitting.
* DrillSergeantNasty: The flower festival event reveals that he can be very pushy and demanding while training his juniors. Though due to this the juniors in the drama club complained to the student council about him.
* {{Expy}}: He's basically a composite character of Yako Konan and Chizuru Yakumo from Ensemble Girls. Like Yako, he's the leader of the theater club and is pushy with his juniors and takes his job seriously. Like Chizuru, he's loud, eccentric, loves theater and his fellow members consider him odd and annoying. They were also severly affected by an incident in the past but choose to adapt to the situation rather than brood over it (The Five Oddballs incident for Wataru, the Rebellion for Yako and Chizuru).
* FirstNameBasis: Addresses the other two Oddballs, Rei and Kanata, by their first names. And the former Oddball, Shu, as well. He also calls Eichi by first name when he's not calling him "Your Majesty".
* FreudianExcuse: Though its factuality is disputable (see UnreliableExpositor below), the backstory he reveals helps explain some of his AttentionWhore tendencies. [[spoiler:Namely, the fact that he's actually adopted. There's a stigma against adoption in Japan, since it's believed that it ruins the family's bloodline, giving a child a family's name without having any of the family's blood. It's hinted that Wataru constantly improves himself at performing because he's aware of the stigma and doesn' want to let his adopted family down.]]
* HappilyAdopted: [[spoiler:The Thief Vs. Detective story reveals he's adopted.]]
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: While this initially seems true, as Wataru is held up as something of TheAce and treated as though he does everything effortlessly, it's eventually averted; Wataru was never naturally good at anything, but had to push himself to master all his theatric skills to give a good name to his family.
* HiddenDepths: Despite having to make his fellow theater club members a victim to his own antics, he truly cared for his juniors, as hinted in the Thief Vs Detective event.
** [[spoiler: He is also the one that urged Nazuna to look after Tomoya, who was about to form Ra✽bits at the time, which subsequently helped Nazuna to find true happiness, growing out of his BrokenBird state and leaving Valkyrie.]]
** As he reveals in ''Thief Vs Detective'' and ''Rosicrucian Story'', he's actually training Tomoya [[spoiler: to be an actor, and that's why he's constantly putting him through so much humiliating costumes. Wataru believes Tomoya is rather plain as an idol and if he grows up, Tomoya's cuteness wouldn't last forever. So he wants to train Tomoya into becoming a succesful actor, so he would have some future after he'll inevitably stop being an idol.]]
* InSeriesNickname: "Masked Freak", alluding his frequent use of a mask and his eccentric behavior.
* LargeHam: He's the president of the Theater Club, after all, and it ''shows''. His catchphrase is said in the hammiest way imaginable, and his gestures are all great and dramatic, as if he never leaves the stage.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: The longest in the cast.
* SatelliteCharacter: Whenever fine or Eichi is involved, he is this, as he mostly serves as the eccentric right-hand man of Eichi who is always there for him despite his role in [[spoiler: destroying the Oddballs.]] While he does have stories in which he acts of his own accord, he is one of the few characters to not have any significant development, a relevant character arc or an event that dives into his past, with stories that do look into the past for him mainly focusing on his significance to Eichi or the other characters such as the Oddballs.
* TheNicknamer: He refers to certain characters by titles, like "Kousagi-san" (Little Rabbit) when talking to Nazuna, or "Ousama-san" (the King) in reference to Leo. He also calls Tori "Himegimi" (Princess) and Yuzuru "Shitsuji-san" (Mr. Butler). [[spoiler:In Flower Festival, he admits it's because he doesn't really want to remember people's names, even if he's perfectly capable of it. It's hard to tell what that says about the people he ''does'' refer to by name, though.]]
* PunnyName: His name, in its original Japanese order, reads "to echo/resound".
* PrehensileHair: His hair is apparently sentient according to some of his cards.
* TechnicolorEyes: He has violet colored eyes.
* TsurimeEyes
* UnreliableExpositor: The Thief Vs. Detective story reveals [[spoiler:he was adopted by an old couple when he was a child. Power-hungry, he loves having the spotlight on him. He's the student council secretary and passionately admires the student council president Eichi Tenshouin.

* AnimalLover: Dogs latch to him easily, since he keeps one at home, as well.
* AffectionateNickname: The Aoi twins call him "Hime-kun". He gets "Momo-kun" from Izumi and "Momo-chan" from Arashi. Wataru also calls him "Himegimi" (princess). That said, he's not fond of any of these.
* AttentionWhore: At times. In the game he's this, especially towards Anzu. In the 4Koma manga, he throws a tantrum in the Tennis Club when Nazuna and Izumi argue over who's pairing up with Makoto in order to play a match, saying that they instead should be fighting over ''him''.
* AscendedFanboy: He originally joined Yumenosaki to perform with Eichi and later he got to be able to perform in the same unit as him.
* ChildhoodFriends: He's childhood acquaintances with Tsukasa. Unfortunately, they don't get along, due to Tsukasa looking down on Tori for being a NouveauRiche. It doesn't help that they're both jealous of the other interacting with Anzu.
* TheFakeCutie: He's well aware of his cute looks and he tends to play up his childish mannerisms to seem cuter, but underneath his looks he's really more spoiled and mischievous.
* HeroicBSOD: He gets one in the Milky way event seeing [[UndyingLoyalty how much Mika was willing to commit himself to Shu to the point of tiring himself]]. He gets better.
* HeroWorship: He truly admires Eichi and the reason he joined Yumenosaki academy is to be with his idol.
* EntitledToHaveYou: Towards Anzu in the game. Even his "Sweet Words" voiced line that players can unlock had this vibe.
--> ''You're my slave, so stay with me forever ♪''
* TheLoad: Tori knows what a burden he's being to the rest of "fine", as he confesses in the Circus event. Despite his complaints whenever forced into hellish training, he actually wishes to grow out of this.
* LonelyRichKid: The spy gacha story, 2015 Christmas event and the 2016 new year gacha reveal that his parents are away for business work during those occasions. That seems to hardly bother him as they do send letters, though he does admit that he's quite lonely.
* NouveauRiche: His family is revealed to be this, to the point where other aristocratic boys such as [[CrazyJealousGuy Tsukasa]] and [[RoyalBrat Hiyori]] look down on him.
* OppositesAttract: A friendship example with him and Hajime from Ra✽bits. Tori's a spoiled rich boy and Hajime's the oldest of four children from a poor family and meek compared to Tori.
* PetTheDog: For such a childish spoiled brat, he has his genuine moments of kindness.
** Being very friendly towards Hajime, even though he's poor compared to him.
** Transferring Anzu to a private hospital room in ''Hospital Visit''. Unfortunately, this only contributes in increasing Yuzuru's jealousy towards Anzu.
** In ''Mine Lady'', after discovering that the humilliating pranks he was victim for were intended for Anzu, he realizes why Yuzuru did it and tells him he'll always be important to him no matter what.
* RoseHairedSweetie: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. As an idol he invokes this, being seemingly a pink-haired cute little boy, but he's in fact quite spoiled and mischievous.
* ShelteredAristocrat: Tori has problems with doing simple things like ordering in a cafeteria, since he's not used to it. It's also implied that several aspects of his life have been controlled by people around him, from his parents to Yuzuru.
* SpannerInTheWorks: For Yuzuru and Tori's sister in "Mine Lady". It's only after Tori starts getting hurt and caught in the pranks meant for Anzu that Yuzuru decided to call the whole thing off.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Tori, or Touri? While the game and official works had gone spelling his name with the former, there are times where you can hear Tori being called with the latter pronunciation, especially in the fine audio drama from the image song album.
* SpoiledBrat: At his worst, Tori has this written all over him, often acting completely childlike and being arrogant towards others, as well as calling those who aren't as well-born as he is "commoners" or "slaves".
* TaremeEyes: While they contrast with [[KiddieKid his]] [[FakeCutie personality]], they do add to his [[OlderThanTheyLook childish appearance]].
* {{Tsundere}}: Tori is a boastful [[TinyTyrannicalGirl Tiny Tiranical Boy]] who confidently refers to those around him as 'peasants'. However, as he grows closer to his classmates, he more and more finds himself genuinely seeking out their friendship and reluctantly admitting to genuine kind feelings for them. This is most often directed at Tsukasa (his SitcomArchNemesis who similarly warms up to him eventually) and Hajime (a docile sweetheart who flusters Tori with his purity).

With the Himemiya family's aid, he entered the academy partly to serve as Tori's chaperone. While he's not a member of the student council, he often helps out as he attends to Tori, and the vice president, Keito Hasumi, values his abilities more than Tori's.

* BewareTheNiceOnes : As nice and polite as he is, Yuzuru has his moments.
** In ''Yumenosaki Circus'' he threatens Tori with a chainsaw, [[DissonantSerenity complete with a smile on his face]], because Tori choose to eat lunch with Anzu rather than train. And Tori threw his lunchbox away.
** In a big OOCIsSeriousBusiness moment, Yuzuru allows Tori's sister to pull pranks on Anzu purely out of spite in ''Mine Lady''.
** Throwing boiling water at Ibara's head to prevent him from manipulating Anzu.
* BirdsOfAFeather: He has a tendency to point how similar he and Anzu are. They have the same subservient personality, workaholic tendencies, hidden snark and have a tendency to independently come up with the same solutions. Even his "Sweet Words" voiced line that players can unlock had this vibe.
--> ''I have been waiting for a person like you.''
* BigBrotherInstinct: To Tori, of course. Since they were little, Yuzuru was trained to be his servant and was always keeping an eye on him.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Ibara, back in their Military Faculty days.
* DiDIJustSayThatOutLoud: Anytime he slips from his "perfect servant" persona.
* GreenEyedMonster: It's revealed he's secretly displeased how Tori had become so close to Anzu in a short time and was treated as more of a friend than him, who stayed by Tori's side the whole time. In the "Mine Lady" story, when [[KickTheDog he gladly goes along with the pranks Tori's sister pulls on Anzu just to spite her.]] Subverted however, in that he was still sympathizing with Tori's sister's loneliness, feeling that his idol duties and Anzu took him away from her.
--> ''Well, in reality, when I saw you cast aside the bento I spent painstaking efforts to make...And had Transfer Student-san spoon feed you that katsudon instead, I admit that I was boiling with rage.''
* FirstPersonSmartass: He's very snarker and cynical in his inner comments, contrasting to his outer "perfect servant" persona. Such as complaining about Tori's ungratefulness, calling him a shitty brat and confessing in "Mine Lady" that he agreed to help Tori's sister with her pranks on Anzu not out of loyalty to his master's sister.....but rather to spite Anzu, because he's jealous that she's taking his role away from him.
* FreudianSlip: In the 2016 Tanabata event, he slips to calling Tori by name to snap him out of the daze of seeing how loyal Mika was to Shu.
** He does it again in the "Mine Lady" story after Tori reveals to Anzu that Yuzuru wasn't always the competent butler he currently is. Needless to say, Yuzuru is not amused.
* HypercompetentSidekick: To Tori, to the point Keito finds him more helpful to the student council than Tori is, despite that it's Tori who's part of it and not him.
%%* TheJeeves
* NewFriendEnvy: Although he has to act as Tori's servant rather than a friend, Yuzuru has been by his side their entire lives. When Tori became close friends with Anzu, Yuzuru felt like Tori was pushing him aside, leading to the events in "Mine Lady", until Tori figures what happened and tells Yuzuru that he'll always be important to him no matter what.
* NiceGuy: Yuzuru is one of the few boys who's nice to Anzu from the beginning. They transferred at the same time, becomes smitten with her due to her workaholic tendencies and tries to help her whenever he can so she won't overwork herself too much (like in the "Doggy Park Picnic", "Summer Lesson" and "Christmas Live"). At least until his jealousy gets the best of him (see TookALevelInJerkass below).
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Back in his delinquent days.
* ServileSnarker: Doesn't really hesitate referring to his master as a "shitty brat" right in front of him. Or threatening him with a chainsaw after Tori left to have lunch with Anzu and throwing his homemade bento away.
* TerribleArtist: Yuzuru's artistic talent is apparently otherworldly, in the "you won't be able to tell what drawing it is until he tells you" sense. The only one who think they're any good is Midori, who names Yuzuru "Master Artist".
* UndyingLoyalty: To Tori, but that doesn't really stop him from being a ServileSnarker. Also to Eichi.
* TookALevelInJerkass: It's subtle, but as his jealousy towards Anzu increases, he becomes less nicer and more passive-agressive in their interactions. To the point in ''Hospital Visit'' [[SkewedPriorities he's more concerned that Tori planned to transfer Anzu to a private hospital room than the fact Anzu was sick]]. And in ''Mine Lady'' he snaps completely and decides to humilliate Anzu out of spite. He gets better after talking with Tori about his insecuruties and by the end he's back to his old self.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: A mild fear of dogs, as he doesn't mind looking at them, but he will usually run in fear if they get close.
