Context Awesome / Maurice

Go To

1* The scene (especially in the novel) in which Maurice realizes that Alec had given up everything for him and when he goes to the boathouse to reunite with his love. One can just hear epic music in their head when reading this part.
2* When Maurice [[LoveConfessor tells Clive]] that he is in love with Alec, both versions. It's shorter in the movie than in the novel and with a bit altered dialogue, but, thanks to James Wilby, Maurice is positively ''aglow'' when he speaks about Alec and says they have "shared ''everything''". It's not only awesome because of the certainty he has about his love but also because he's no longer willing to cling to Clive and the norms Clive tries to hold him up to. From the novel:
3--> '''Maurice''': I was yours once till death if you'd cared to keep me, but I'm someone else's now - I can't hang about whining forever - and he's mine in a way that shocks you, but why don't you stop being shocked and attend to your own happiness?
