Is there a good reason why the last sentence of the article has to link to Fan Dumb? It seems unnecessarily insulting. People get them confused because, at least in the American market, there are virtual no Dating Sims available. So people see a Visual Novel where you make some choices and get different storylines involving which girl you get to boink and assume that is a Dating Sim.
Maybe change the last line to read something like "Because the American market for Dating Sims is virtually non-existent, people tend to assume that any Visual Novel involving making choices so the storyline tracks a particular girl should be called a Dating Sim."
Or just something less harsh and insulting.
