This needs a lot of work. I did my best with it, but it would be nice if someone more versed in the subject would make corrections.

I have to admit, by the way, I don’t care much for the trope name. Prussia may have been the dominant German state, but it was scarcely the most characteristic. Besides, it leans a bit toward the Protestant side. Wouldn’t something slightly more values-neutral be appropriate?

Silent Hunter: How about A Bunch Of City States And Principalities?

Tannhaeuser: Hmmm...well, maybe not German enough. It would be a pretty accurate description of Ancient Greece or Renaissance Italy, as well of Prussia And All That Lot. Prussia Austria And All That Lot is a bit too long — and some people seem to prefer to leave Austria out of the question entirely. Prussia Bavaria And All That Lot? Still longer...Off hand, all I can think of are either “Biedermeier” or “In Old Heidelberg” But there must be SOMETHING better, don’t you think?

By the way, is the picture all right?

Silent Hunter: The picture's fine. How about Deutschland All Divided?

Tannhaeuser: Ah, that is excellent. Will you do the honors?
