Ununnilium: This is kind of a mediocre name, IMHO. Anyone got anything better?

Darmok: I suspect this name is used because Jeffrey Sinclair says "Nothing's the same any more" right at the end of Chrysalis, the last episode of the first season of Babylon 5.

Kizor: Eh - it sounds like Wham Episode to me.

Ununnilium: Me too. Any complaints on cut-listing it in favor of that entry?

Looney Toons: None whatsoever. This is an obvious duplication.

Darmok: Yeah, I'd go along with moving the examples (and maybe a small part of the description) over to Wham Episode.

Cassius335: I dunno, I was about to add Code Lyoko here; Specifically, the shift in Aelita's situation at the end of S1, which wasn't a Wham Episode, but rather the natural ecvolution of the premise. Similarly, Williams situation wasn't exactly a twist either, as the Warriors luck had been running that badly all season, with Lyoko steadily falling apart Sector by Sector, so it wasn't as much of a shock when Sector 5 went too. I think this trope might be saveable.

Kilyle: Does this trope apply to Buffy? in that the end of the third season seemed a marked change in at least two premises: "school is hell" was chucked out the window when they graduated, and "vampire soul mate" was chucked when Angel left. They picked up the school one again in the last season, but I don't think that invalidates the initial landmark change.

Did this happen in classic Doctor Who when the third Doctor was stranded on Earth? —Document N

  • The Star Trek The Next Generation episode "Best of Both Worlds". This episode changed Captain Picard forever and altered every subsequent Star Trek after it by introducing a foe unlike any other previously seen.

grendelkhan: Removed the above; the premise of the show was completely unchanged; it's not possible to easily distinguish episodes set before and after the event in question. (And seriously, "changed Captain Picard forever"? Is someone quoting the ep trailer?)
