A fic set well before the series proper, this story is heavy on original characters. It tries to adapt some of Bleach's built-in anachronisms to an entirely different era, and to provide a logical answer to of some of its unanswered questions (such as whether or not all earthly souls end up in a recreation of feudal Japan). None of the main characters make an appearance, though there are several fan favorites present, and some of the OC's are ancestors of the actual cast. The plot tries to keep itself within the bounds of the canon, but events contradict most of the backstory revealed during and since Turn Back the Pendulum. The writing is very good from a technical standpoint (no Brain Bleach required for spelling and grammar), but the beauty of the content is of course in the eye of the beholder.
