Disgusting and Mind-Numbing

"Once you see that shit, it'll fuck you up for life."

I literally could just leave that quote from the Twinkie of this movie and say that sums up just about everything I want to say about this movie. Not even kidding.

This movie is bad, and not even the So Bad, It's Good kind of bad. I just mean the flat-out horrible, sickening bad that makes your mind rot. I almost don't even know where to begin because there was so much that was just wrong with this movie.

The entire joke of the movie is that all the food swears and make a truckload of unsubtle sexual references. Even Firewater, the alcoholic beverage that had a lot of stereotypical Native American traits and was so chill, swore as much as anyone else in the film. The movie proclaims itself to be an R-rated animated film and that it's mocking people for calling animated films childish, but this comes off as completely hypocritical because by relying on such low-brow humor that wears off within 2 minutes, the movie is EVEN MORE childish than how some audiences already view the animation industry. Swearing and dick jokes do not make you more mature.

This wouldn't be so bad if the movie was just that, however. Sure, it'd still be pretty terrible, but it would have just been a stupid movie to get an immature laugh out of. But then the movie decided that it also wanted to go full atheist on its audience with the eloquence of a sledgehammer to your face. Now I have no problems with atheist views, but this movie was just so preachy about it and rubbed it in your face what felt like every 5 minutes in the most demeaning way ever that it got just as tiring as the constant swearing. In the end, the message to me was "all religions are fake, so partake in your most depraved pleasures since it's not like life actually means anything", something I know even some atheists found deplorable.

There's a lot of other things I could talk about really that piss me off about this movie. The rapey vampire of a villain, the stereotypes that make up nearly 90% of the characters (Mr.Grits being an obvious black person stereotype, the fruits being gay people, Firewater as a Native American stereotype as I had stated earlier), the outright disgusting imagery like with the condom and that extended food orgy at the end, and so on. But I'm running out of room and am done committing this much energy to reviewing a movie I am utterly disgusted by.

Don't ever watch this movie. Don't believe the praise it gets just because it's an R rated animated film. You want to watch an R-rated animated film so bad? Watch South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut. That movie actually had the intelligence to make their vulgar jokes meaningful.

Douche isn\'t rapey until the end. Plus, he\'s actually more similar to the Wendigo. Furthermore, you claim it\'s athetist but completely ignore the fact that it was written by JEWS. Even Conrad Vernon himself said that the overall message of the message is \"live in the now.\" Not to mention that what Firewater described in that one scene has been said to actually be more similar to ancient Sumerian paganism. Then there\'s the fact that the stereotypes are actually more tongue-in-cheek than outright offensive. The writers actually made sure of that, as revealed in 107 facts. You\'re willing to give SPBLU a pass even though it\'s just as bad with that content, if not worse. You really don\'t see anything sketchy about that?

I'm not going to deny that SPBLU pushes a lot of boundaries and uses just as much foul language as this movie does. However, at least South Park had a point with all of its content and swearing and the words were diverse. It wasn't the same word over and over again, as well as justified because the characters were 4th graders. Children tend to repeat what they say because it sounds cool, even if they have no idea what it means. Sausage Party was simply using swearing whenever it wanted, not just to emphasize a point or because they were angry.

You could argue that South Park does the exact same thing that you claim Sausage Party does with its swearing.

South Park was written by award-winning satirists lauded for their refusal to compromise.

Sausage Party was written by two guys who got high one night.

You\'re not winning this one either, Yuma.

Honestly, I don\'t find a lot of \"satire\" to be especially funny; I always get the distinct impression I\'m being cajoled and mocked into a particular point of view. Sometimes I just want to laugh, no matter how crude the stimuli.

Well, you confirmed my doubt and convinced me. I am not touching that movie even with a stick.

If you don\'t like the movie, fine. That\'s your opinion. But you really shouldn\'t tell other people not to watch it. Just because you don\'t like it doesn\'t mean nobody else will. I watched it and found it nowhere near as horrible as you\'re making it out to be. It\'s not hilarious in my opinion, but it was enough to make me crack a smile at how stupid it was.

Also, if talking about Pixar movies until the idea of Pixar making an \"R\" rated film came up counts as \"getting high one night\", then that is the weakest and least dangerous drug I\'ve ever heard.

^ Wouldn\'t that also mean one should never make recommendations, because there\'s no guarantee someone else will like it?

Well, if I ever wrote a review about something, I\'d just tell them why I liked or disliked it and let them know that my tastes may vary from theirs.

I wouldn\'t tell them to watch it or not; that should be their decision. Recommendations risk disappointment for the reader and warnings risk you looking like a jerk.

^ So basically I don\'t have a right to state my own thoughts on a movie at face value, explaining exactly why I dislike this movie? That\'d pretty much mean that 99% of the reviews on this website and pretty much the internet shouldn\'t really exist.

The benefits of reading before jumping full force.
