It\'s honestly depressing that from the place of the web where Sargon comes from, he\'s not even close to the worst person. Even just a few years ago, tweeting \'I wouldn\'t even rape you\' to a sexual assault victim would be grounds for everyone dismissing him as a complete shit for the rest of his short internet career, but these days, he isn\'t doxxing anyone, he isn\'t openly racist, and he didn\'t tweet anything as bad as The Amazing - \"I think we should give the guy who raped you a medal. I hope you drown in rape semen\" - Atheist, who has more than twice the subscriber count. He\'s positively pleasant compared to the others in his field.

If you want to see Sargon\'s Law in action you should check out any forum on IMDB. There\'s always a pack of extreme right-wingers convincing each other that the Left are the real bigots because they don\'t like prejudiced viewpoints.

I know this is quite a grave dig, but I honestly find alot of Sargon\'s videos to be entertaining, if not fairly reasonable.
On the part of him naming himself after a king, he (by his own admission in a few interviews) did that mostly as a goof back in 2011, with it simply being a gamer handle. When he started making videos and got popular, the name became something he was stuck with.
He doesn\'t seem to put on the airs of being an intellectual, so much so that he seems to openly use his own experiences as a frame of reference, and utilizes a sort of bombastic (in my view at least) brand of humor to keep the mood light; his Advice for Incels video is an example of this.
As a Brit, I\'ll give him this; it was very nice of him to destroy UKIP for us.

Life can be boring if you don't surround yourself with people who disagree with you. For that reason, I've been trying for the longest time (two days) to find someone on the disagreeable side of YouTube who could offer valid criticism of the things I enjoyed. And when I heard about Sargon Of Akkad, his apparent intellectualism, his openness to debate people, and his resemblance to Robert Baratheon, I was legitimately excited to watch his videos.
Finally, I had found someone like Thunderf00t without the obsession with Anita Sarkeesian. Like The Amazing Atheist without a penchant for being banned from fast-food outlets. Like Davis Aurini without any of the things that make him Davis Aurini. But instead, all I found was another avenue in which to be disappointed. Which, as a man who has been to Croydon, I have experienced enough of in this lifetime.
Sargon's biggest problem is that, while not an outright idiot, he's certainly not as intelligent as he thinks he is; definitely not intelligent enough to justify naming himself after an actual king. Especially when the contrast with Robert Baratheon is more effective; Robert's death was caused by a boar, whereas Sargon's cause will bore you to death. Apologies for tortured wordplay.
He does at least agree to debate other people, but even his fans agree that he tends not to win these, which paints a rather disastrous image of him; great at arguing against quotes and screenshots and other inanimate objects that lack the capability to offer a rebuttal, but not very good at debating the actual human beings who talk to him.
The biggest criticism of Sargon is one of his greatest successes; 'Sargon's Law', which means 'If an SJW (later changed to 'ideologue', presumably when he realised how stupid it sounded) insults you, the insult is actually true about them.' This is a defense reserved for use by trolls who no longer care if you know that they're trolling. How am I supposed to take this seriously? How am I supposed to treat this guy as an intelligent, rational man when he tried to create an internet rule functionally identical to putting your fingers in your ears and replying 'I know you are but what am I? I know you are but what am I?'
And then he does things like tweeting to a British MP who had admitted to being sexually abused 'I wouldn't even rape you.' And then trying to frame the inevitable backlash as 'Feminists think it's sexist to not want to rape someone?' when people were actually pointing out that he's a grown-ass man and it's still incredibly rude to say that to someone and you'd think that for such an intelligent speaker he'd know what a civil discussion was, but I imagine he'd gone a while without stirring up a new outrage about feminism and that can't be good for his Patreon.
In summary, Sargon is one of the better people in his corner of the web, but only because it's a very shitty corner. I'll keep looking, thanks.
